The Beatles consciously and unconsciously left a lot of mistakes in their recordings. Some consciously and some others unconsciously, but what would you say about all those sounds that are hidden in some songs? Some we've heard for years and other sounds you probably never noticed.
So today, Thanks to remixes and isolated tracks, we will talk about some of the hidden sounds and their stories in beatles songs.
This video would not have been possible without Mark Lewisohn's years of research, What Goes On
The Beatles Anomalies List and You Can't Unhear This.

Thanks for another excellent video, I wasn't aware of most of the sounds you mentioned, except for a few. All You Need Is Love starts with the French national anthem, which is pretty cool. I knew about Glenn Miller and Green Sleeves, but not the Bach part, pretty clever lads, one and all.

Way back (before Phil Spector 's interference) on Aussie Sydney Radio 2SM (I think that was the station) they played an occasional track of this 'up coming Beatle album'. This particular track was The Long And Winding Road where Paul vocalised, not singing, what is now the orchestrated section in the middle. I have never heard that, or another couple of tracks that were different back then. Maybe there are 'gems' still stacked away in radio station archives that could be rescued. Remember, the Beatles had a huge Aussies fan base, before the US had even heard of them, and they often 'did us favours' with interviews and musical tit bits.

What you’re talking about sounds like the take 19 version on the let it be deluxe edition with no orchestra and vocalisation during the instrumental section. Maybe they got sent one of these takes? Give it a listen and let me know if it’s what you’re talking about.

The first use of the f-word in a Beatles song, however, was in "Good Day Sunshine". Right after Paul sings "She feels good", on the drum track Ringo can barely be heard saying, "She f'ing does". Then there's the bit at the end of "All You Need Is Love" where John sings "Yesterday" in a passable imitation of Paul. Then Paul sings "She loves you, yeah yeah yeah" and the next line is by naughty John, answering "She'd love to, yeah yeah yeah", still imitating Paul. Presumably a parody lyric that they could very well have sung in some of their concerts when you couldn't hear the lyric for all the screaming. These lines were the subject of intense debate for decades on who sang which line, but this makes the most sense to me.

The new mixes have obliterated a hidden or not so hidden sound on A Day In The Life....I first heard this on a reel-to-reel copy I had purchased through a record club. During the transitions Mal Evans can be heard doing the countdown that allowed them to come in at the proper time and pulling the stop on an old alarm clock. Try as I might I can't hear it on the most recent mixes and it saddens me that they might have considered it an error that needed to be buried deeper or eliminated entirely.

Here's another one I think someone referenced already.. In the "Phil Spector" version of "The Long and Winding Road" from the "Let it Be Album, Paul vocalizes "Don't keep me waiting", but it's almost drowned out by Spector's lush arrangement. You can hear it, but just barely. It's more audible on other versions. And Paul clearly says the line in concert on the "Wings Over America" album...

I'm not an expert, but as for solos by George Harrison, I am not at all surprised that he recorded more than one solo for various songs. For instance, the recorded solo for "I Saw Her Standing There" is often NOT the same as the one(s) that he played live at concerts back in those days. This is no big deal: These solos are improvised, maybe not on the spot, but I'm sure George tried out numerous solos for songs before going into the studio.

This is quite difficult to hear on the original max but is easier to hear on the 2021 mix, however still hidden and in my opinion makes the long such better as they are just jamming out to one of their old songs on the roof.

The Beatles weren't for this generation heck they weren't for the last few generations. If you missed the times, the Beatlemania in context with before (the 50s) and after then too bad but the music was only a part of it and it was mixed for mono old lo fi and "new" stereo systems, period. That makes this examination and vivisection of Beatle songs 60 years later just because you CAN absolutely ridiculous. Nice racket but we that lived it are laughing at you. 🎬
