I have some questions, but if you already talked about them, please let me know the links to yr videos. 1) how long it took you before you finished the classes? 2) what was the investment to open your own spa business? 3) what would you do differently ( lessons learned)? Thanks in advance.

I want to say check out this video i talk about my investment here kzbin.info/www/bejne/e4DaeKuEjtx0iqssi=aaqz8rMEHskW1LMi What classes are you referring to again? I would say throughout my journey of being a solo esthetician I would say i would have liked to be more organize with my expenses and income streamlining everything for a smooth transition.

I wanted to offer dermaplaning as a service, however, apparently in the state of South Carolina you can only do it under a medical pro. Says my instructor

Wow...that's crazy. That's one of the cons sometimes with being an esthetician we are limited as of what we can offer!

For the dermaplaning, I order from dermaplane pro the 10r blades and I use there AHA/BHA TONER before and after dermaplaning. I also use very little oil. I find it's actually better because you cab really feel how much pressure you're putting on the blade and less slippage lol. When I dermaplane myself, I break out sometimes but it's where I have more terminal hair vs. Vellus hair. You can offer to wax the terminal hair first and when you dermaplane over it, just reduce the amount of passes and strokes and the barrier will not be compromised ❤ just a suggestion 😊😊 great video thank u!

@SBEaesthetics definitely! I just started doing this technique alittle bit ago having learned from an amazing trainer. I had my doubts about the barrier getting ruined but it actually works out if done correctly😁 and yes I love dermaplane pro or the blades from Circadia are absolutely amazing..pricey but Worth it! Love your content!

Thank you for being here! I’m trying to figure out in NJ can I do lashes and waxing as an esthetician? I live close to Pa and found out I will not be able to do those things there.

If you’re certified in both lashes and esthetics, I would think you’d be able to offer both services

@@chloenicholas1758 I looked up the board of cosmetology and found I need to work 2 years in my home state then I can do these services in Pa. This is the grey area I’m trying to figure out beforehand. Thank you for the reply!

I agree with @chloenicholas of being certified to do lashes, and also I would recommend checking with the New Jersey Board of Cosmetology and Hairstyling for any additional requirements or guidelines that may apply. I know you can offer both, but some services we choose to offer we need to be certified plus having a license to perform. You can offer both services in NJ. It may be different as well if your a new esthetician that just graduated. I can see them saying you need this amount of time to do this. When in doubt just check with the cosmetology board.
