hey, have you heard about Massacration? they're probably the biggest comedy metal band here in Brazil, and the musicians are quite competent at the craft.

Maybe I’m biased, but metal has gotta be the only genre that has ALL KINDS of subject matter. From Disturbed and their songs about the media giving attention to killers, to Amon Amarth and anthems about Viking tales, and really complex subjects like social isolation or abuse. Metal is way deeper than people give it credit for imo

That is THE main reason I got into metal, as a very intellectually curious 11 year old that liked all sorts of subjects and was into music, but could not find music I found "relatable" (the word every pop fan uses). Everything has been touched by metal bands of all genres, even sociology and philosophy and of course, the many funny bands!

And then we have bands like Gojira, who are singing about environmental conservation. Hell, one of their recent songs "Amazonia" was part of a big movement to raise funds for indigenous tribes in Africa. Metal is the best.

@@rafaelbaronceli2140 Here in Czech Republic, we have a groove metal/nu metal band called Trautenberk that blends elements of our folklore with pop culture references and turns it into a mosh-worthy parody. They sing about lumberjacks, fairytale characters, clumsy workers or just plain old fun with girls, beer and sausages. It's pretty corny, but fun and kinda charming.

Yeah. They were amazing when I them live the second time. They picked me for "Une Souris Verte" and then called me a "Pov' Connard" for their next song. It was awesome! After that we had a pretty chill conversation. They felt they needed to apologise, but I told them it was okay. I knew what would happen and why they did what they did since I already saw them. That said, I was disappointed with their last album. But I still love Objectif Thunes. "Mountains Of Maths" and "Morbid Cocker" are so funny! Cheers from southern France mate! 🍻

Considering Nanowar of Steel is from Italy I was surprised hearing Beddinge and Kivik mentioned that are close to where I live (in southern Sweden), until I realized those are specific Ikea furniture (I never buy from Ikea). Beddinge is also a pun, as it's a bed sofa. Horse meat balls is (probably) a nod to a semi scandal where horse meat was used in food items that were claimed to not be made from horse meat at all.
