Power metal is my jam. I’m talking Helloween, Blind Guardian, Stratovarious, Rage, Gamma Ray, Hammerfall, Avantasia, Galneryus, Firewind, Sabaton, Sonata Arctica, Manowar, others like Nightwish, Epica, Powerwolf, Brothers Of Metal because they got some real awesome power metal music that defined them as one of my new favorite metal bands in the world. There’s also some other power metal bands like Majestica, Symphony X, Edguy, Kamelot, Iced Earth, Rhapsody Of Fire, Pagan’s Mind, tons of other power metal bands and of course the most recognizable and well known power metal band of them all, Dragonforce. And by Dragonforce I mean the Dragonforce aka my favorite metal band ever.

As someone who's listened to power metal his own life, almost all of this is frighteningly accurate. The only problem is your band name; Almost all power metal bands I know of are two cool words put together to make one word, like HammerFall, DragonForce and GloryHammer as opposed to Falling Hammer, Dragon's Force and Hammer of Glory. So instead of Moonlight Eternal, I'd call my band something like EverMoon, for example.

@danielskrivan69216 жыл бұрын
The thing about most music genres is that a lot of it IS just noise, and a lot of it does take a lot of talent. I'm not a rap fan. Most rap songs it's just people talking, or it's people singing horribly off key. But there is some rap that sounds decent, and it takes skill for it to sound that way. Metal can be an incredible display of skill on the guitar, and an impressive display of vocal control. Or it can be a monotone growl both from the instruments and the singer.

@Doug.Dimmadome8 жыл бұрын
Technically unmatched? heheh
@R0DisG0D7 жыл бұрын
Power Metal is incredibly fast, but other than that not really complex in technical terms. Prog and Jazz are more technically advanced. Also, Helloween-style Power Metal has become really cheesy over the years (wich would be at least 80% of Power Metal), but I think bands like Blind GUardian do a great job of keeping away the cheese.
@kaelanmcalpine20117 жыл бұрын
RemixedVoice Sabaton has lyrics of war. Blind Guardian are like bards, literally, they tell entire stories of their adventures and add a twist of progression in there. Nightwish had an opera singer once and their latest album had philosophy and science. Kamelot is kinda similar to Nightwish but with more classical sophistication and no female fromtman. Also the band came from my home state of Florida. Children of Bodom is more borderlining power and melo death. Their earlier albums were more on the power metal side and their "bad" albums were more melodic death, even after the small rut of albums into Halo of Blood and since. Edguy/Avantasia, I swear someone in the band, most likely Tobi, is a Christian. Yeah totally generic.
@TerminatorZXY7 жыл бұрын
Twilight Force is the cheesiest power metal band I know, but it's good cheese anyway.

Don't forget the sampled orchestra, chorus vocals layered to infinite proportions, retro game-esque synth leads, and STRING PADS. Kaelan McAlpine people are so critical. With nightwish, the difference in albums isn’t different, but it’s different with their different singers. Everyone disputes about the singers instead of respecting such a great band. No matter the female singer.

I know Dream Theater is technically progressive metal but they've been getting a lot of hate for their newer music. A lot like Avenged Sevenfold which is Metalcore/Progressive (they've been switching to Progressive lately). They're getting hate for trying new things and switching it up a bit and not being generic assholes. It's bloody infuriating.
@Johnbovii5 жыл бұрын
Electric Nick i hate when bands get hate for trying new things. It gets boring to play the same stuff always. If you change it up you get hate, if you play the same music you’re considered not creative and boring. There is no winning.

actually, i missed the rule of telling a story on their whole albums, cause as i know, mostly every band want to sing about and epic adventure or story, and therefor i think, you need much more than one song, to show everything a good powermetal album should have (basically different types of songs, from happy, so fast, to epic, to melancholic) i dont know if someone understands that, but well, maybe XD
