Hope you enjoy this video! Last weeks video I said I would mention the diaper pail I love and I forgot to add it in this video 🤦‍♀‍ HERE is the link to the diaper pail I love: amzn.to/2ZVIEaE

Also this is why I love the diaper pail: It is all metal. Not cheap plastic like the diaper genie. You don’t have to use expensive special bags. You can use your regular trash bags which in the long run will save you soooooo much money! It’s really those two things (and looks sleeker in your home) I’ve had mine well over 2 years now and it still works just as well as it did day 1. I have 0 concerns with it cheaping out and breaking on me. I’m actually pretty sure once my kids are out of diapers I will be able to sell it for around $20-$25! 😁

I LOVE that this wasn’t titled baby essentials. For me, baby essentials mean just that: clothing, food, a place to sleep and NOT loungers, white noise machines, bouncers and tech. These things are luxuries or “holy grails”, love the honesty of the title.

@@nomoralsnolife it doesn't have to clean corners in order to be extremely helpful. You're still going to vacuum normally from time to time, but not as often as you would have to if there wasn't a robot to assist you.

That sounds amazing...because of my physical disability I cannot handle the vacuum/ vacuuming is too tough for my body. I will look into a robot vacuum one instead of letting my husband do it
@mmitkova1
@mmitkova1 2 жыл бұрын
The robot vacuums are actually not good at all, I had one for 2 years and thought it was great because “I didn’t have to vacuum” but oh boy, when I switched to a dyson $500, do I wish I had spent this money sooner. The amount dyson (this is not a commercial btw haha) vacuumed AFTER I had used the irobot was a ton! The air quality improved and dirt particles I used to see in the air when the sun shines through we’re gone. My sinuses clear, no allergies. I WISH I had bought a Dyson sooner. Yes it sucks you have to vacuum yourself but you can dedicate 10-15 min per week and know that your baby is breathing fresh clean air as opposed to using iRobot which by feel and seeing, vacuums only 20% of what it should.

The owlet sock gifted me with some solid sleep lol. I love it. I found mine used for $150. I didn’t sleep for the first 6 weeks until I got it I always got up every 20 mins to make sure she’s breathing. Worth EVERY SINGLE PENNY 😂 also helped me decide wether to take her to the hopsital with RSV. Her O2 only dropped to 94 but she had other symptoms. Took her to the hospital 3 times and they didn’t listen to me. The 3rd time they finally listened and within 3 hours of being there her O2 was dropping into the 70’s (extremely dangerous and can damage organs if it’s that low for too long) and I got rushed to a bigger hospital with a pediatric ICU and she was almost intubated. Minutes from being tubed and sedated but I prayed as they were bringing all the supplies in and she did a complete 180. Scariest thing of my life. Moms. TRUST. YOUR. MOM. INSTINCTS. I didn’t even listen to the doctors who told me she was fine. I have NEVER DOUBTED MY INSTINCTS AGAIN!!!!

Her stuff is not low budget though. Just make a trip to Walmart. You'll get everything you need right there at great prices. The only things you should be spending a bunch on is cloth diapers. Get like 25 washable ones with reusable inserts. You will save a boat load of money and it's better for the environment. To state, I'm a single mother with a deadbeat sperm donor. I did everything by myself. I got my now 11 year old daughter a bassinet/pack in play, a two in one carseat/stroller, bottles, toys, and nuks all from there. I even found a decent radio baby monitor. Kids do not need a lot the first few years of their life. Especially with clothes. Those cute newborn outfits will only last a couple of months at the most. Getting clothes that are bigger is perfect since it gives them a chance to grow into it and it makes the clothes last longer so you aren't forced to buy entire new wardrobes every three to six months.

Yaaassss on the Owlette sock! I am currently 34 weeks pregnant with baby number 4 and with all 3 of my other kiddos I suffered post partum anxiety. I showed my hubby this product and I really thought it was going to be an uphill battle to justify the price. However, as fate would have it there was another couple there who owned the product and the man started to talk to my hubby about it, and he was sold! So yayayayay totally looking forward to this (we also got the camera kit set up with ours). For my peace of mind, and the safety of our baby, it's TOTALLY worth the money spent!

We actually Decided to go with two really basic pack and plays (1 for the room And 1 for travel) rather than one with attachments that will be outgrown within a few months and then a separate basinet for our room, since he’ll be sleeping the first few months in our room. Basinets are pricey and it would only last a few months and then we’d have to stick it into storage. I contemplated getting 1 pack and play with a basinet and a change table even after deciding against a basinet, but again. Basinet on the pack and play won’t last long, we already have a change table and we can change the baby right in the pack and play when it’s on the higher setting. And change him on top of a change pad anywhere really.

Jocelyn C. I’m not sure off the top of my head. With our daughter, we just used the pack-n-play (which we needed for travel) bassinet insert, and we quit using it as soon as she could push herself up to a crawling position, but I’m not sure if that’s the official recommendation.

I'd say go for an Angelcare.. it goes Under the Diaper mattress, or wherever baby sleeps and only detects if Non movement after 20 seconds, they have a few different options that also work with Audio and video as well .. it was a Lifesaver when I needed one many years ago, they have added many new features to the new ones!! I watched reviews for the Owlet (As I'm expecting my 1st grandson in September and the parents want the Owlet, I think I will be talking them into the Angel Care afterall🤷‍♀️)) and they arent as Expensive. Plus it can grow with your child to any bed as you can adjust the LEVEL of sensitivity.. as where the Owlet only grows so far and can be removed by older babies.. the Angel care cannot be.. that's another major plus in MY opinion... Newer models detect heartbeat, etc plus have video monitors as well with night vision, 2 way audio plus the usual features... and much cheaper to begin with!!

The owlet is in my mind right now. I had post partum depression and I deprived myself from sleeping for 2 months I used to sleep only 4 hours a day and not at once. Once my baby was sleeping in the middle of the day and I just sat to look at her. My grandmother got upset and told me I'd become crazy, then I saw my baby having milk out of her nose without making any sound. I lift her and tried to wake her up but she didnt then I screamed and my mum and aunt came to the house (the were in the next house) we tried to wake her up and then she made a sound like she wasn't breathing. It was HARD to watch, my aunt sucked up the milk from her nose and she breathed. I am now thinking for this baby to have that little monitor on her foot for a more enjoyable postpartum and maternity in general. It's pretty expensive but three months left for delivery. I'll surely think more about it

Great video! But one thing I’d like to add about the pack n play is something that I wish someone had warned ME about: a lot of those pack n plays are like 6 inches to the ground, and if you are even are even average height it will DESTROY your back. So be prepared to possibly transfer to a crib after they are too big for the bassinet. I’d still recommend it for the first several months though. :) Good luck mommas!!

Personally we hated the owlet. I thought being a first time mom I would really need it. So we tried putting it on, and every 30 min or so it would go off saying that reading wasn’t good. It would make my heart drop each time! The sock was on correctly, so it didn’t make sense what the issue was, and it just wasnt worth it dealing with the false alarms, it just caused more anxiety! Not to mention they also don’t prevent SIDS, it says so on their site, so what is the point then? That was the main reason I wanted it

@@michellethomas6557 I think it really has a potential of causing more issues than good. Most pediatricians aren't fans of them, because people don't really know how to interpret the data and freak out. If the oxygen ever desats a bit into 80's they may freak out and try to take baby into ER when it's actually normal for little babies to drop in oxygen saturation when they sleep, it goes back up. So I'm not too sure that this thing is a good idea. I'll be selling mine.

Same for sippy cups,clean them after each use and one is all you need and a back up incase one breaks. The pack and play is the best for this Nana. When the baby is here I break it out.

Do I need a mattress for the pack n play? Someone told me to ditch a bassinet and use a pack n play until they are ready for the crib, but I didn't know about mattresses for it. I'm 27 weeks pregnant and am a FTM.

The pack and play comes with a mattress. I am also a first time mom and that's what I am seeing. I particularly dont plan on getting a crib. They'll use the pack and play until we get them a bed. I do want the bassinet that's closed to your bed.

Hey so, basically w/ a pack and play, when the baby grows into a toddler, I can still use it? I saw it on target and I really loved it and it’s not crazy expensive so I wanted it. But I was doubtful about it because I want to get something that will last for years..🌸 thank you btw, I love your reviews! Your Walmart review on baby food was helpful because now I know that it’s better to get food from target. I’m binging your videos even tho I’m due July 30th.. I’m just SOOO excited😩🥺👶🏽

@mariahunter7831

Caitlyn Beeler this is incorrect. The aap simply says they aren’t proven to reduce the risk of SIDS. Another study indicated that the concern may be that parents are more lax with the safe sleep standards issued by AAP because they’re using the monitor. If you’re still adhering to AAP standards and inform your pediatrician that you’re using the monitor so you can agree on what to do if any alarms do go off then they are not “unsafe”.

Maria Hunter Since the Owlet has been recommended, I will post the evidence on the main post as well. Credit to: Safe Infant Sleep - Evidence-Based Support Group FAQ: Home Consumer-Grade Cardiorespiratory Monitors For those with questions about home consumer-grade cardiorespiratory monitors like the Owlet, Snuza, etc., here is the evidence: The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends against using these high-tech baby monitors in healthy infants, said Dr. Rachel Moon, who chairs the academy's Task Force on SIDS. The AAP's main concern is that there's no evidence the devices even work, said Dr. Moon, head of pediatrics for the University of Virginia School of Medicine. By not claiming that the monitors prevent sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS), the manufacturers can avoid FDA medical device regulation. "These companies...have gone straight to market," Bonafide said. "And so the public actually doesn't know anything about the accuracy of the devices or safety of these devices." jamanetwork.com/journals/jama/article-abstract/2598780 - Create a free account and you can read it. www.upi.com/Health_News/2017/01/24/Pediatricians-say-no-to-wearable-smartphone-baby-monitors/4181485293107/ The owlet and other home cardiorespiratory monitors are non-evidenced based marketing hype aimed at anxious parents. There are no available standards and they are not independently tested. Their self-reported testing cannot be independently verified, and so it isn't real science. There is no evidence that they monitor what they claim to monitor. At this time they are not evidenced based. People state that they offer them peace of mind so what's the harm? Unfortunately, parents in this group have reported allowing their babies to sleep in Rock n Plays and with bumpers on their crib because they use an Owlet and rely on it to alert them to a potential problem. If parents in this group, who supposedly know more about safe sleep than the average parent, do this then you can imagine how many other parents, uninformed of the dangers of unsafe sleep, allow unsafe sleep and rely on the Owlet. That is a real danger. Further, there is absolutely no reason for a healthy infant to be monitored. If your child requires cardiorespiratory monitoring, your care provider will provide you with a medical-grade, FDA-regulated, tested device. Putting your baby to sleep in a safe space is the #1 step you can take to reduce the risk of SIDS. If you are feeling the need to check your baby every 5 minutes an Owlet is not the solution. Anxiety in parenthood is normal but if your anxiety is severe enough that it “interferes with your daily life” and doesn’t allow you to enjoy parenting, that is the definition of requiring medical intervention. You can check with your OB/GYN or a general practitioner about your level of concern. Try to take some notes about things anxiety has kept you from doing or how often you actually check baby’s breathing so your doctor will have some idea of the seriousness of your anxiety. Remember, this is an evidenced-based group and the evidence available now just doesn't support home cardiorespiratory monitors for healthy infants. 13. Do not use home cardiorespiratory monitors as a strategy to reduce the risk of SIDS. The use of cardiorespiratory monitors has not been documented to decrease the incidence of SIDS. These devices are sometimes prescribed for use at home to detect apnea or bradycardia and, when pulse oximetry is used, decreases in oxyhemoglobin saturation for infants at risk of these conditions. In addition, routine in-hospital cardiorespiratory monitoring before discharge from the hospital has not been shown to detect infants at risk of SIDS. There are no data that other commercial devices that are designed to monitor infant vital signs reduce the risk of SIDS. Do not use these devices as an excuse for an unsafe sleep environment. pediatrics.aappublications.org/content/early/2016/10/20/peds.2016-2938#ref-25

I had one with my son and I would use it occasionally not very often it’s practically new. I have heard a lot of parents say they used it around the house when doing chores around the house. I would just have his swing set or his bouncer and that would help a lot. Pregnant with my second baby and thinking maybe it’ll come more in handy since my son is 5 and I usually walk him to school so maybe this can come in handy when I just want to take her for a walk without taking my entire stroller

My daughter hated being in pushchair, she always wanted to be in my hands, so i found the carrier very helpful when i had to travel or go for a shopping, but out of 3 different ones i had, she liked only the one where she could sit face outwards, aos she could look around but still be close to me (but yoy cam use it only from when they can sit up)

Everyone raves about the city select stroller but I have tried out my sisters and I hate where the hand brake is I feel like that’s where I want to hold the stroller and it’s in the way as well the way the harness does up is difficult when you are trying to put a toddler in who is resisting in the seat. Other then this it seems great but if I have to push around 60-80 lbs I need to have my hands in a comfortable position cause I like to walk a lot.

Its NOT a wearable, BUT instead goes Under Baby (Under a mattress where baby sleeps) and alarm sounds if NO movement after 20 seconds, They have them also with Audio, Video and Room Temperature.. few different models out there and buying used is a Great cheaper alternative as well!!

Please note: pack-n-plays are NOT SAFE for infant sleep if used with an additional mattress. There have been cases of infants suffocating after becoming wedged between the extra mattress & the walls of the pack-n-play. Pack-n-plays are only safe for infant sleep when used with the included mattress, and older models of pack-n-play may not meet the safety guidelines for infant sleep. Please do your research before using a pack-n-play for your baby's bassinet/crib. They can be a great space-saving/budget option, but using them incorrectly can be a suffocation hazard.
