Amazing video, so many great recipes!! Oat milk is actually by far the most popular non dairy-milk in Sweden. So popular, in fact, that the dairy industry opened a lawsuit against our biggest oat milk company, Oatly, for calling it milk. Unfortunately they won and they can no longer call it oat milk, but has to resort to the name oat drink. Ridiculous! Love from the Swedish west coast!

That was quite an education but, you’re always good. I have to learn my tastes towards nuttier flavors as, although I don’t hate a nutty taste, it isn’t something I gravitate towards. I heard about cashew milk just the other day, bought some, but have not yet opened it because I still have some UHT milk in the fridge with an earlier expiry and things don’t go fast here since I live alone. But, I’m glad to know that the cashew milk is the least nutty and I might just have to buy a nut milk bag to make my own, if I ever actually get the time I’m planning to have.

For the most part, this is very interesting. Unfortunately, I must be against at least two nut milks: Almonds need a lot of water, and are generally grown in areas where most of that water comes from the ground- with not enough rain to replace the froundwater. Cashews, on the other hand, are related to poison ivy. The people who seperate the nut part from the rest of the plant are often not given the safety equipment needed to protect them from the irritating oils that the plant shares with poison ivy- those oils are right around the seed! (As an aside, raw cashews are a scam! The oils need to be cooked to render them inert. No ifs. No buts. No way around it. Planters flat out tells you they are lying on their packaging! Don't waste the money on "raw cashews". They are all either lying, or you're about to have a poison ivy rash down the inside of your throat.) I must ask, though- do pistachios work for a nut milk? I bet it would be tasty...

@cyderbat51636 жыл бұрын
@@fourthlove8745 I mean, it mostly depends on the country and area. Most probably you could have one of these ingredients at a low price. I live in a latinamerican country and near the coast so coconut is really cheap and easy for me to find 😂 but almonds, which most come from the U.S. (i think) are pretty expensive for me. So yeah, coconut would be cheaper than almonds so I have to stick to that. Oh and I almost never buy any vegetarian or vegan food from companies/already processed. All these milks and people still want milk from cows that’s not even for them...
@charmingyoutuber24085 жыл бұрын
These milks are an acquired taste. They are odd and watery and often sweetened by uncommon means. Everyone's grown up drinking cow milk and it's delicious and an easy source of nutrients. Of course people still want to drink it. All you can do is focus on yourself

I make mostly cashew milk and have started doing half cashew half almond. But I don't strain it, my nutra bullet blends it well enough 👍

Thank you for offering so many great options in the area of non-dairy kinds of milk! It can be a life-saver for people whose digestive system can't tolerate dairy products! Alpro and other brands have some components which can cause allergies. Thanks to the human creativity we can substitute more and more components with time like smoothies can be made by adding some water, not dairy products.
