@@RictusHolloweye A real WTF moment would have been if the stoner would have taken his shirt off and gone for a swim. The reason the actor, Franz Kranz, didn't go for a swim in the movie is that, In real life, the dude was more jacked than Chris Hemsworth at that time, and it would have ruined the look of the character. But man, I wouda loved to have seen that, lol.

Curtis - I screamed in anger and actually threw my slipper *at* our television (1997 version, on videotape)...my Hubs was shocked into silence by my uncharacteristic reaction (I never even bothered with the remake, though I love Naomi Watts). Normally other than a making a face or comment, I didn't let horror movies get under my skin like that...but Haneke broke *that* for me. 😒

My grandpa used to do me like that in a daily basis. He'd make me go pick a good hickory switch from a bush in the yard, you had to get a good one or he'd go pick it and you didn't want him to pick it. My grandpa was a large man, very strong. He could grab both my hands in one and suspend me in the air as he wildly switched me with a limb and I failed about like a crazy person. Hickory switches cut through the skin if it's a good one. Welts and cuts all up and down my legs and backside. Most of the men in my life gave me pretty intense beatings. But your mom shouldn't have allowed him to do that to you, at least mine were family.

I called it… because I knew it was basically the same trope we’ve seen before of “insane, murderous split personality”. Yes, there’s variation in whether it’s the person being insane, if the personality is a ghost possessing their body, or - as in Malignant - some pseudoscience bs, but it’s the same core trope. The protagonist’s body is the same one doing the murders.

Hereditary will always be the ultimate WTF moment to me. Because you're already trying to wrap your mind around the fact that the kid WENT TO BED after his sister was DECAPITATED, then the sounds of the mom in utter shock and agony. THEN THEY SHOW HER FUCKING HEAD! And, I have a phobia about ants and spiders in large groups, like when they're pulsating in groups with each other, so the ants all over her head was worse for me than the gore of her face. He was a genius for putting the ants on her head, it would not have been as effective if it were just bare or had flies or something else. Ants made it so much worse. And also sort of reminded me of the drone-like feel of the other members of the cult in the last scene of the movie and how they were surrounding the house and yard .Like they've already begun the process of capturing the family, and now they have Charlie, her soul, her body...her head! lol

I really liked Malignant, even though I knew about the twist because it was spoiled by this very channel...I just had trouble with the final rampage because it depicted the Gabriel character as being supernaturally fast, agile and deadly.....and an entire precinct full of armed cops as a bunch of complete goofs who were so inept that they'd need instructions to put their pants on, THEN their shoes. And it was unnecessary because by that point we'd already seen the sort of mass violence that Gabriel was capable of. We didn't need an almost computer game type shoot out sequence as well.

The trailer for Hereditary did it a HUGE disservice. They set it up to be this creepy, tongue-clicking girl who's terrorizing everyone. When the movie turned out to be an examination of grief and family dynamics in grief where Charlie is just staring blankly and being mildly weird only to get her head knocked off was so jarring, that I hated the movie for years. If they'd just pitched it as Toni Collette giving a masterclass in grief that something spooky is later tied to, I would have been onboard from the start.

What do you mean you don't see Malignant's plot twist coming? The murder literally walks backwards the whole time, it's so on the nose 😭

I yawned a lot - Most of the films have been mentioned on other lists quite a few times before. In fact, the only real noticeable difference was that Ellie was on screen through most of it.

The only way anyone could have seen Malignant’s plot twist coming is if you watched the opening credits and payed attention to the details

No lawnmower scene from Sinister or Megan's body from Megan is Missing? Hereditary is so overrated and is always appearing on these lists. Midsommar was amazing though.

Kudos on Black Phone, Summer of '84 and Texas Chainsaw Massacre, yay for mixing it up a bit. What about 'Us'? 'Get Out'? Why is it always 'Malignant', 'Don't Look Now' and 'Barbarian' with the unforgettably gag-inducing dash of 'Hereditary'? What about the utter about-face of attitude in the whitebread parents of the girl from Last House on the Left? Rosemary's Baby? The fact that the dead body was actually alive in the corner of the first Saw movie? I would love to see Kill List, As Above/So Below, 47 Meters Down, You're Next, A Tale of Two Sisters...anything but the same stupid 15 movies we keep seeing over and over again.

Malignant was great but the movie is given away in the opening credits if you pay attention.

#6 ~ Nope! That scene was garbage. Ruined the whole film.

Malignant's twist didn't come out of nowhere. At the beginning you know they were trying to cut something off a little girl's back to stop violent tendencies that the girl clearly was not in control of. You know early that Madison was adopted and didn't remember much of her childhood. The fact Gabriel had been sewn up into her head may have been a surprise, but I suspected an incomplete separation or teratoma pretty early. The movie just went too far. How do you smush a second brain and FACE into one skull and not have a huge deformed melon head? How is it that Madison never reached where the blood was coming from and felt around? Or anyone else for that matter? How did the fact her head had opened up not caused further serious complications?

I disagree with MALIGNANT, with the first few kills I clocked the twist coming. Gabriel literally walks backwards, arms are backwards, and has long dark hair... not hard to figure out.

okay Malignant's twist is completely given away by the intro sequence! and then the bleeding? and the face? the backward elbows? it was really obvious what was gonna happen. i don't understand why you guys love this movie so much. it's pretty bad.

Malignant- when the movie started I knew the plot twist as they strap her on the chair. I knew the story of Mordake. So I am NOT LYING. before the opening credit rolled I knew the entire movie and who the killer was.

Don’t care what anyone says about The Invisible Man, the movie actually sucks, the characters suck, the whole idea probably could’ve been really good but the way they did it sucks, the pretty much anti man theme of the movie is super gay and it’s overhyped as hell, it’s not scary, it’s not that thrilling and it’s not really a movie where you want to support the main character because the whole thing feels like it was written by a woman who got dumped one too many times by guys and wants to play out some dumb fantasy about what she feels like she’s going through and some dumb way that she can empower herself through her fictional narrative
