I've always felt The Evil Within deserved to be a trilogy (and long overdue) after the pleasant surprise of TEW1 and the gameplay improvements TEW2 showcased. Plus the fact lots of things were left unanswered despite the 2nd game's feel good ending. A reboot, spinoff or spiritual sequel would be nice. Even so, it would not be the same without the original studio, along with someone creative like Shinji Mikami.

All good options tbh. The only ones that I didn’t consider at one point was New Nightmare as it’s part of a franchise that is ongoing (even if this was a reboot and in it’s on universe), Fatal Frame 6 (as I do think the series will pick up again even though it’s been since what, 2014?), and both Dead Rising 5 & Dead Space 4 mainly due to dead space potentially getting a franchise reboot that may or may not lead to a DS4 one day and for dead rising I just feel like Capcom will revisit it sooner or later (though it may be a remake tbh)

The same thing that happened to Haunting Grounds happened to another franchise i love, Dead Rising. Capcom made 3 Great Dead Rising games and then they rushed dead rising 4 to be done in like 9 months causing the game to fail miserably. Nowadays, between the fail of Dead Rising 4 and Capcom focusing more on the Resident Evil series, i dont think they will ever risk to do a Dead Rising 5😢

Alien isolation 2 is the one I wanted the most, the A.I. for the alien on nightmare mode was really ridiculous but it was so fun too because you always had to adapt your gameplay and couldn’t play it the same way

I feel like Shinji mikami should sort out things with Capcom and return. Tango games really did very good with the Evil Within series. I feel like he still has the potential to kick some good horror games.

It’s the fact that the evil within 3 was in development before it was changed to ghostwire Tokyo I believe it’s called. The evil within 3 could’ve been such a satisfying conclusion to the franchise as it would’ve likely answered unsolved questions from the second game. Such as spoilers, what happened to and where is Joseph? And potential answers to the Ruvik Leslie thing we saw at the end of the first game. I’m heartbroken that one of my favorite franchises will probably be dead forever now bec of the selfish idiocy of ceos :(.

I’m honestly more up in arms about Bethesda making a judgement call over Human Head Studios’s version of Prey 2 over how Microsoft shuttered Arkane Austin recently because of Redfall HHS had a FULL GAME with an incredible storyline to follow up their underrated original (w/ 3D Realms) and Bethesda just went “we think it’s not good enough to release, so we’re ending the development” 😒 Even the developers (who have since been subsumed into a new studio called Roundtable Games…which was also closed down with the layoffs) felt that it was a power play by ZeniMax Media specifically to acquire them on the cheap

lol that's honestly a fair and pretty accurate opinion. The sad truth is that some of these franchises died or will die because of the lack of sales of it at the time. Obviously I assume you're not saying to go out and buy and support bad games, but if there's a game that has a lot of potential and you can get it at a decent price then you should support those devs.

I would actually say a sequel to Alien Isolation is possible, Alien games will always be a thing and seeing how Isolation is the best Alien game and seeing how theres so much demand for a sequel I wouldn't be surprised if we see a sequel one day, if not then we'll probably still see another survival horror Alien game that wil probably take some inspiration off Isolation.

Forbidden Siren is one of those games that could've been really good and I'm sure if you'd give it a good overhaul it could still be, but the controls were way too wonky and the game was way too vague in what to do and where to go. As for Evil Within 3: I would'ved loved to get another sequel, but it would've had to be seen how well it would've worked without Shinji Mikami.

Im still hoping for a remaster of parasite eve 1 and 2 since square is remastering/remaking non FF games. I actually have an autograph from the voice actress who voiced Aya in The 3rd Birthday. My father is a make up artist and worked with her on a movie which is how i got the autograph. Im the first person to request her autograph for voicing aya. I know the game was bad at least with the story. She was decent but actually sounded good as aya in the end

Now I agree that xbox made a huge mistake closing tango, they lost my trust there. It's also sad for arkan austin, even if it was expected after redfall. But the other 2 studios are pretty anonymous, one did support for other projects and the other one a mobile game. I would say "closure of 4 ICONIC studios"

Sucks that no TEW3 is happening for sure but I didn't have much hope for it anyway, they sidetracked to Ghostwire which turned out mediocre and after they announced their next game I just accepted TEW3 won't happen. Even if the studio stayed they would do anything but TEW3, probably a high chance they would milk Hi-Fi since it's more succesfull in reception and maybe in sales.
