I started clapping happily when I saw the subtitles. Most people don't take the time to do that, and I get why, it's not easy, but it just helps me out so much. Thank you.

As someone with Bipolar and BPD, I hate the way mental illness is represented.

When I first looked at that thumbnail my first thought was how much you look like Oliver Sykes! Maybe it's just like the hair and the outfit ahah. Loved the video btw.

Thank you for these videos, they mean a lot. You also are very skilled at this whole youtube thing.

THANK YOU; THIS LIST IS AMAZING AND YOUR INSIGHT IS BRILLIANT TOO! Ah, that felt good to type in caps.

I know it's not a horror film, but what about A Beautiful Mind possibly perpetuating the 'people with mental illnesses are dangerous' stigma? I mean, it was based on a true story.

Each time you hold up a DVD case, I question why you own all these terrible movies, ha ha! Love the videos, keep up the great work.

A quiet place Millie is a young deaf actress and the character is deaf

Really enjoyed this! I also really like the idea of Will Traynor coming back as a zombie-it could be such a great story to make up for the awfulness of Me Before You.

Can we add A Quiet place to this list now with one of the characters being deaf? And the actress is actually deaf herself

Long hair suits you. In my opinion

I don't know if you've seen the trailer for Split yet, but it's an upcoming thriller movie that just looks so terribly offensive and harmful. It totally piles onto the 'people with mental illnesses are dangerous' stigma.

oh yeah! I remember cringing at the advert. What surprises me is that these seemingly intelligent actors end up in these films? Maybe thats not their fault though.
@alicepow5938 жыл бұрын
It's definitely a gray area and it's not always clear cut. I don't want to hold actors entirely responsible for it, but I don't think they have clean hands. Also, the trailer made sure to include to 'Creepy Cross Dresser' trope, so that movie is just going to be a mess.

I know this is late but there is another movie about a disabled guy that I think you should review. It's called "the fundamentals of caring". I really like this movie and I think it portrays people with your disability in a more welcoming way.

Question for anyone, is calling someone with paraplegia "A Paraplegic Person" offensive? Or is it just about the same as a person with paraplegia?
@joomblee6 жыл бұрын
Charlie Britt person first is usually the best
@TiaKatt6 жыл бұрын
Yeah, best to default to person-first unless the individual requests otherwise. When speaking in general terms, also default to person-first.

I'm not dismissing the point of the video here, but what's the point of playing two characters if they both end up saying the same thing and finishing each-other sentences?
@kyraholt81886 жыл бұрын
A different format from the usual things you see here. The dialogue has an approachability about it too- like you're almost a part of the discussion, except just as an observer of course. I like that it's a little quirky and it's great to see people using different formats on a platform where stylistically a lot of features have become mundane. Just my perspective on it though.

Really liked this. It would have been cool to hear you go a little more in depth, but given it's a list video that's scripted like a conversation, I understand why you chose not to do that

Was totally expecting a jump scare at the end XD Great list! Which would you say was the best?
