Akhal Tekes and Akhal Teke crosses are very common in eventing. Bashkir curlies are hypoallergenic and common on horsemanship. Rocky Mountains are common in the gaited community, Camaragues are common in France as they are the wild horses of France. Exmoors and crosses can be seen a lot in eventing and field hunting, especially in the UK. Falabellas are the smallest breed of horse, of course people know what they are. Fjords are EXTREMELY common in eventing, driving, hunters, western, etc. Gypsy Vanners can be seen readily in dressage and sometimes in the show jumping. Marwari is one of the two "curled ear" breeds. And most of the "over muscled" horses shown are drafts or foundation bred Quarter Horses, they're old breeds and made naturally that way (except for the ridiculously muscular halter horses). None of these are uncommon or little-known breeds.

OMG....THANK YOU....Someone Else Who Clearly Loves Horses. And the Muscled "Breed" hes talking of I really think he just saw a picture of a Super Muscle horse that had a Genetic Mutation and just did a google search for MUSCLE HORSES Found A FEW Articles About Chemically Altered horses and some Draft horse pictures and then just ran with it rather than taking time to look up the articles discussing actually Over Muscled Horses that CAN happen because of a a VERY Rare Genetic Fluke basically.

there are "Double Muscled" quarter horses, they are beefy, but they dont' look like that. additionally it also occurs with a debilitating muscular tremor - It started showing up around the 70s. and all the afflicted traced to one stallion. A few of his offspring we not afficted so his ines still remain in the pedigrees of many QH. Quarter Horses with any of his lines are all tested for the disease now.

well, I'm glad I'm not the only one who was scratching my head. I think I ran across a 12 yr old mare with that muscle disorder. when frightened ,her back legs would fold up. I got her from a rescue. she came a long way.from standing with her head in the corner to being a part of my heart. sadly, she rolled over on me and I had to put her down.
@lindadenbow47946 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure I'm doing this right. If I understand correctly, Ana Marta equestrian imagery replied to my comment. I think. It said to Sue, but it read in reference to my comment about my 12 yr old mare I put down bc she rolled on me. To clarify, she more or less reared and fell over on me. Except she wasn't actually rearing. She was frightened and started to back up and her rear legs collapsed under her and the rest of her body rolled over. Not exactly a flip, not a rear, more like an egg roll. I had an eye witness about 30 feet away. She was a very sweet tri colored tobiano about 14 hands. It was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. She had been shoved in a trailer in front of the rescue in the middle of winter. That's how they got her. They had her for 7 years and placed her several times. People returned her and said she was crazy. It wasn't that she was crazy, it was that she had a problem with her legs and people beat her for not standing to have her feet cleaned. In actuality, she couldn't stand if you didn't place her legs kinda like a tripod, with her front legs helping balance the back end. I could go on and on about all I did to retrain her to stand and trust me. The first time she fell she was tied at the hitching post. She pulled back, fell, scrambled up, fell, SIX times in a row. I stood silently and watched. I guess she realized I wasn't beating her yet and wondered why. As time went on she had these moments, but ONLY IF TIED. So I stopped tying her and she stopped falling. She NEVER had a single incident when I rode her. She lived trails! Then one day she ran in the barn and slipped bc of ice in her hooves. Up. Down. Up. Down. Up and out the door. I was flat against the wall. We had a few more of those, then one day I was cleaning her feet and she slipped and knocked me down too. Idk if any of u have ever been in a stall with a thrashing 900 pound animal, but it's terrifying. I had so many bruises. I was so lucky. So, you see, I DID NOT just put this mare down bc of one incident. If I could have cleaned her feet saftly, she would have been a lawn ornament. But, what I DIDN'T do was take her to a meat sale where she would have been frightened and abused the last hours of her life. What I did do, was all I could do. Miss you, girl ;(

Another interesting fact about the Fjord is that the stripe in its hair goes all the way down it's back and into the tail. If I'm remembering correctly the coloration isn't just on its fur, but on its skin as well

I find it annoying that l you tubers exploit horses just to get views from people who don't know anything.. I personally watch them just cause its kind of funny to hear them not pronounce the breeds properly-sorry for the rant but your comment reminded me of this.

Clue: “Unique” is an absolute term, and, thus, cannot be modified. Nothing can be so unique, very unique, most unique, or more unique. It is either unique or it isn’t.

Obviously you have never heard of Double Muscling. This is a genetic mutation that causes extra large muscles, and it can happen in many different species including humans. If you do a google search you will see cows, horses, dogs, etc. that have the condition. It has nothing to do with steroids. *If someone else has already mentioned this, then I am sorry for repeating it. I haven't got the time at the moment to read through all of the comments.
