I initially was going to sell wall art, and then when I couldn't find the right wall mockups with the vibe I was going for, I decided to sell wall mockups in the niche I loved, and it turned out to be very popular quickly since no one else was selling the version I had. I taught myself photoshop and those mockups are still selling, but my true love of digital products is junk journals and scrapbooking supplies so I ended up moving on to that. Both sell very well for me, although the mockups sell more at this point.

I've been selling room mockups for a year - they're not easy, but I enjoy making them. It helps if you like interior decor design. You've given me an idea - maybe I should take the "shovel" metaphor one step further and create a course on how to make quality mockups. There isn't much out there right now.

I spent more money than l care to mention on an Etsy class, and completely and utterly failed in every way. I’m going to try some of your suggestions and see if l can still make a go of it. Thank you for the help!

Those are really nice ideas, especially the financial goal planner one, but I’m a bit confused about one point. I’ve been working on creating specific planners, but I’m concerned about the low search volume for niche products. It’s frustrating to put time and effort into something that gets little attention. On the other hand, broader products seem to have high competition. How do you suggest navigating this balance and standing out?

Great ideas. I sell physical products and I'm a bit old school to learn how to create digital products, but your ideas are amazing, especially the origami and air fryer recipe ones. Thank you for sharing.

HI Nik, would you create a separate shop for example when selling origami. I have a tshirt store and it would look a little out of place in with the tshirts. All the best.

Thanks Nik for yet another really interesting video. Paper engineering has always been one of my main interests but I didn't think there was any demand for it on Etsy. I'd love to incorporate this into my digital shop! You've certainly given me plenty to think about and I think I'm going to need to book a consultation with you in the near future.

Nick, does improving your mock ups/ descriptions on old listings help with etsy recency? Or do you have to list new items to get recency? Thank you, love the videos!
@etsyconsultant21 күн бұрын
Thanks Joe, to answer your question here are the 3 factors, ordered by importance, the first one is the most important: 1: Listings that sell = recency 2: New listings = recency 3: Editing listings = recency

I noticed views (especially Etsy search) falling drastically since the start of the new year (I am in Europe). Sales have dropped accordingly too. No US sales anymore, before they made up more than 50% of sales. I hear similar stories from other European sellers. Do you have any idea about an Etsy Algorithm or policy change that would explain this?
@mayagavrikova95019 күн бұрын
This is my idea why, not 100% sure of course. EU has now a law (from 1st Jan 25) that you need a EU representative to sell in EU, so many small businesses outside of EU cannot afford that, so no sales to EU from outside. Likewise, maybe US does a counter action, and Etsy priorities US sellers. In trade wars it’s been always two ways.
@tanyatancheva973916 күн бұрын
I don't think is related to the EU law because it is a concern to the sellers, not the buyers. Buyers don't care where their product is coming from. I have notices that from time to time there is a tendency for decreasing sales and it depends what products you're selling. And it is normal. It's only January and maybe ppl are reducing their spent due to the massive spending around the holidays. They'll come back 😉
@talesofthetails16 күн бұрын
@@mayagavrikova950 Interesting thought, although I could not find any such law when searching online…
