One of the simplest yet super informative explanations on how to get good tones out of an amp. Another brilliant lesson from Dave ! Apart from physically getting the right notes out of a guitar, getting an amp to sound good is one of the hardest things for a beginner. Most of us just resort to turning up the gain and distortion to 11. Having a Boss Katana 100 MK2 myself, this lesson was very enlightening on how to set up tones by myself,.Your free download tones are the cherry on the cake. Thanks!

@@GuitarZero2Hero -Thanks again Dave. I have learnt so much from your KZbin channel and as a member of the GZ2H Premium course. Learning how to play a song is one thing and your lessons are the best at this. Being able to get the tone of the song correct brings the whole thing together and raises it to another level. As a fellow John Mayer fan, I'd love to see you teach Slow Dancing in a Burning Room, Perfectly Lonely and Gravity when you are able. You obviously have the tone nailed. Your "New Light "tutorial was awesome and I've loved all your Mayer Acoustic song tutorials as well.

Just to say, on a 'real' amp, especially a valve amp, volume certainly does change the tone. Higher the volume the more you will get power amp compression and speaker compression plus speaker break up. Also hight power amp settings will add other 'colours' to the sound.

Dave, can you make a video on how you maintain/clean your guitar(acoustic), strings, etc. ? 😀 It would be really helpful to know from your point of view how to extend the life of strings and guitar. I know that there are a lot of variations online but it might be confusing a little for beginners out there what to choose and which things are the most effective.

There's not too much I do - I use Elixirs (that's a big start) and then wipe down with a microfibre cloth after a big practice session
@cristiangira99874 жыл бұрын
@@GuitarZero2Hero Mhm, so microfiber, thats one point clear. Tho can i please take a minute from your precious time for 3 more questions ?: 1. How long do phosphor bronze light last for you ? 2. Is there any difference between Elixir strings made by GORE and the normal ones with original package design? cause they confuse me regarding which one to buy. 2. How often do you use compressed air, lemon oil, guitar polish and such things in order to "help"/maintain the wood from your guitar ? It's just that until now i played on my brother's girlfriend's guitar, and now when i bought my very first own one, it's like i got a little paranoia haha, studying all over the internet how to take care of your guitar (about moisture, and all of those things) since the other one that i played at, the truss rod was too arched, and it was really hard to play, especially barre chords on the first fret, pushing my veins to make em sound, and only now when my truss rod and action is stardard adjusted i can see the that the difference is soo big, it's a lot easier. About the strings, thats my first time buying somethin' this expensive and (i hope) this good, so, i wanna make sure that they last as long as possible. Thank you in advance :).

Hi, I found your video very interesting. Would you please listen to Bert Weedon's FBI, on KZbin. The last but one verse at 1 minute 19 seconds is played on the high strings, at frets 12; 13 and 14. It consists of the notes E; C and A. When I play that verse on my acoustic guitar, it all sounds very thin and frail. Bert plays an electric guitar with a plectrum. Any ideas how he might be achieving such a rich, powerful quality? I am not sure, but I think the big chord which starts each phrase is an A Minor(?) Would you agree?
