dude, That tone was spot on but close to the original. But I want these 10 songs to be on my Spotify playlist to play with. But now, I have to relearn bleed it out intro and pre chorus parts. keep it up! but 2:43 I want this guitar tone so bad to have that brutal, Distorted, Overdrive sound on a Marshall amp that Brad uses.

Try a high gain 5150-like amp with a distortion pedal in front of it. It might be easier to get this brutal, cutting distortion that way than to experiment with classic Marshall amps.

this isn't a tutorial to follow, he is just giving us "a taste" of LP style, if interested you can look up any of these pieces (for example the piano part of in the end, Numb... are amazing ). reason is LP music wasn't heavily based on guitar (compared to Metallica or Iron maden ... for example). cheers

Not palm muting, but just regular muting actually. Sometimes so a string doesn’t play (like with octaves), other times to get that specific scratchy sound (like in Given Up). Palm muting gives you the chugging sound like at the end of Papercut, but he doesn’t have any symbol to notify it’s a palm mute here

@@Aarthurnax 0 just means that you’re playing the open string. Doesn’t imply palm muting the open string, although that’s very common. It’s very common in djent as well as other types of metal for the root note of the song to be the open low string, so that’s why you see it so much in those tabs. Playing any other note in the key over and over usually would feel…unbalanced
