I have always been a bit cautious when it came to these large water park rides. And this video proves my point. Whenever I go to a water park, I only go on the smaller safer rides and stay away from the big large rides. I had gone down large waterpark slides in the past like in a raft or something and I came out alive and uninjured, but there is a chance I could have been injured and I was just lucky enough not to have been injured at all.

Whoever created this video needs to do some more research and get their facts straight. The two women did NOT lie about their weight! And there was NOT a 400lbs weight limit. It actually needed to have a minimum weight of 400lbs to insure the safety of riders. The accident was caused by human error in the design of the ride. Look it up. You will find that 2 of the engineers who designed the ride were actually charged in the boys death. The two women played absolutely no part in the cause of the fatal accident.

Verrukt, of Schlitterbahn, in Kansas City, KS, was torn down several years ago. Schlitterbahn was only open for a year after that incident and was permanently closed. The owners of Worlds of Fun/Ocean's of Fun had been in talks to buy it but that all fell through. The land is still for sale and several companies have put in proposals with the city for tearing down the park remnants and redeveloping the land. The latest rumor is for baseball fields. I drive by the old park everyday on I435 to the I70 interchange from Leavenworth. I really liked it when it was open. Never rode Verrukt. i wasn't walking up all of those stairs.
