Number one is my favorite or at least for man in the box love performance from Layne. Sidenote that is random as a recovering heroin/cocaine addict as well as Layne and Matt (RIP) this band has helped me get through so much depression and bs through my teen years and in adulthood. My son is named Layne his middle name is Alexander. I love Alice in Chains dearly and adore Layne Staley and I am thankful to be alive in the generation I am too have grown up and listened to such a once in a life time band. Music transcends us and helps connect people. It's amazing how u can listen to songs and follow someone's career and it feels like you actually met that individual before. I wish I could of seen them live. Its a tragedy of what happened to him but, the disease of addiction is cunning and baffling. It's nothing but 'jails, institutions and death'. Anyways thank you for your research and great videos keep up the great work!

Man, that’s beautiful. Thank you for sharing. Been getting into AiC only recently and Layne’s story breaks my heart quite a lot. It’s my pleasure to make videos on his incredible voice. So glad you like them

@@CrazySinging it's heart breaking definitely. I try to look at it that yes he's gone but, definitely not forgotten! He has many fans and was a true legend as a musician. I appreciate the reply that means alot. I hope you and your have a great day! And that's so cool u just recently discovered the band but are such a big fan already 😀

Sorry for sounding dumb, but who are you referring to (Matt)? And yes, music is literally someone’s biography. You can trace musicians’ and artists’ lives through their creations. It’s fascinating to know that AiC helped you get through addiction and life struggles; it truly is that great.

I’ve always wondered, do you, as a Seattleite, think the whole “Seattle Sound” is a major part of Washington’s culture?
@litawells42642 жыл бұрын
@@miajc6606 Yes! Even today those bands are big, and everyone knows who they are, we know their songs, we know stories of their personal lives, we know how they lived, we know how they died. Everybody young and old knows who Layne Staley is. I have 4 Daughter's ages 44, twins that are 31, and my youngest is 29, I am 67 years old we all love Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Candlebox, Mudnoney, Screaming Trees, Temple of the Dog, and Mad Season. My point is none of these bands exist anymore except AIC, but my girls listen to them everyday, it's just apart of life here. I hope I have answered your question. I'm sure I listed some bands you have never heard of, cause unless you live here you probably wouldn't know who they are, Candlebox is one of my favorite Seattle bands check out some of their music I think you will love it. Here's a list, Change, Cover Me, Rain, (Simple Lessons), is my personal favorite, He Calls Home, YOU, Don't You,10,000 Horses, and Arrow. I know it's a lot of songs but they put out 7 albums. There is so much more I could tell you, but you probably have already stopped reading this. RIP Layne, Chris, Mike, Kurt, and Andrew.

@@litawells4264 wow thank you for allowing me a glimpse at this interesting part of Seattle :) I’ve heard of all the bands you listed, but I’m not into Screaming Trees, Mudhoney, or Candlebox simply because I’ve never taken the time to explore their discographies. Thank you for the song suggestions! I wish I lived in Washington because here in Texas all youngsters my age (teenagers) don’t have a clue about good music 😢 I’m the only outlier who is a major fan of rock music in general.

Man in the Box is incredibly hard to sing. My old band covered it once acoustically. I was not ready! It was horrible. The band was good but my vocals were not. The verse parts were fine, but once the chorus hit...no way was I ready. Layne had incredible power and range.
