10 consecutive, beautiful wins. 10 straight games of scoring more points than the opponent. Not a single bad performance within those 10 wins.

Topic was my top ranked player in the draft. I had him in a tier of 6 players because there wasn’t a sure fire top pick, but he had the highest upside of anyone.

I agree that they must remain flexible and united with this core, because soon the owners will have to pay the taxes. But if in this streak of games until January 13 Wiggs and Joe continue to contribute little, maybe we have to consider Cam... someone has to be a real threat from the bench, salary fits and you have enough depth to be able to exchange 2 pieces for 1. You just can't let the championship windows pass like nothing, because you never know when they're going to end.

Couldn’t agree more, as great as it is to consider the long term, for all this teams potential, they have a close second round exit to show for it. We feel good about being able to beat Dallas now, but what about the Celtics? This year and next are this teams best chance at actually winning a championship, and that needs to be the focus, not the next 5-10 years. That’s for when we have actually had tangible success with this team in the post season. With that in mind, as much as I like him, Joe has done NOTHING to make me feel good about him being the best shooter/scorer off the bench on a championship ready team. He just hasn’t. And we have to have good to great shooting to go where this team needs to go, and that has not been the case at all this year, despite the incredible success record wise.

For context, from 3 he has shot above 40% in 9 games this year. So 9/30. He has shot below 30% from 3 in 11 games. That is just really bad, and of course I hope it gets better, but that is not the trend atm. He hasn’t shot above 40% since 12/5, and he is 5/27 in the last 6 games.

@@StantonSims2112 Youngest team in the league and they only have 1-2 years to win. ? ? ? And Chet is not playing. Enjoy the team & let them develop.

@@roberthowe9137 I hear you, but I also remember 2012. Nothing is guaranteed. You have this team signed up for two more years. Of course we expect to have Chet, JDub and Shai extended and be our core of the future. But again, nothing is guaranteed. If you told a Thunder fan immediately after our finals loss that within 4 years, we would have no rings, no more finals appearances, and Harden and KD would be off the team, with Westbrook soon behind them. No one would have believed you. We thought we’d be competing for the next decade with that core… just like now. To be clear, I like this core more, and trust that Thunder will handle it better, but you cannot just bank on being competitive for the next decade.

Definitely should trade for Cam. His contract isn’t super long and he’ll make the same as Wiggins and Joe combined and would be a big upgrade.

Wow we have the problems that everyone wants, stacked roster, draft picks galore, winning with good players missing. What happens when we are full strength? New players? It will be interesting how presti plays it.

You can be a great defense and a good offense but it’s almost impossible to be great in both. It’s partly because of the players skill set, but it’s mostly because it takes a lot of energy and effort to play truly elite defense and energy is a finite resource. This team seems to think and has so far proven their best chance at winning the most games is to be the best defense in the league by giving full effort every single play on defense. Every action has a reaction. If a player has a hypothetical energy gage over them from 0 to 100 and they divide it up to 70% on the defensive side and 30% on offense you’re going to be less efficient on offense. It’s also not a constant scale that gradually depletes. You expend energy quickly with full effort and replenish with rest. So if you expend on defense as this team does you try and cheat on offense to exert less to rest and replenish. That seems to be the model this team is in. I’m sure if they wanted to be maybe just a top 5ish defense they would be much better on offense as was their model last season. Now you can also fight this with depth and elite talent, especially in the regular season. At the end of the day talent level is what drives how good your team will generally be, but its play style and coaching that matter in the margins. It will make the difference in a team making it to the finals or winning the finals or losing in the conference championship and making or winning the finals. When you get to the top 3 or 4 teams in the league all or capable of winning it all, it’s a teams playing style and the team that plays the most effective style for their team that wins it all.

This was also the reason I said that the Thunder will keep the Majority of their first round picks. People would always talk about playing time and only have an 8 man rotation because it's always been done like that. My argument is to have a 15 man rotation go all out and create your new normal. Old basketball heads can't understand this concept of having an elite 15 man squad because they were always worried about playing time and money.

Wow that was like a 10 min uninterrupted rant by Andrew about Cam Felt sorry Michaela couldnt get word in edge wise. We know what we have in this team, a team that generates tons of turnovers and sometimes relies on that to generate offense. If they don't get a knockdown 3.pt shooter I expect to see what I saw in the Dallas series and against the Bucks, a team that gets in thier head and can't hit the broadside of the barn and goes 5 mins to a long stretch without scoring. Teams will slow down in the playoffs and not as many turnovers will be created, putting more emphasis in shotmaking and hitting contested shots. We dont have a team good at hitting contested shots outside Shai. This team is talented enough to go to the finals this year, maybe even taking Celtics to 6 games but they are 1 shot maker (even above Chet returning) from winning the Championship, doing that is the whole goal of your NBA career. Not building a long term contender that cant truely pull the trigger to get over the hump.
