Thank you for linking me this video as well. You're right, removing that piece is literally 3 seconds. I'm not sure why someone even complained about that. Thank you for the detailed videos These sure beat the robotic voice reviews!! haha.

looking at getting a bandsaw and the Rikon 10-306 is now out. You say at the end of your video "I wish it had a 1/2 hp motor" Well your wish came true, the new version is 1/2 hr. You show how well it can cut with 1/3rd - the 1/2 can only be an improvement. Thanks for showing me how well this one cuts.

Do all 4 of the guide bearing on the left and right have to be touching the blade?
@works4me3 ай бұрын
None of the guide bearings should touch the blade when adjusted correctly. There should be a thickness of a business card away from touching. When sawing a piece of wood, the blade will be pushed around and touch the bearings slightly. This is normal.

KNOW WHERE I CAN GET A LARGER DRIVEN PULLEY SO I CAN SLOW THE SAW DOWN FOR CUTTING METAL? THANKS
@works4me3 жыл бұрын
I would start with calling Rikon. The new 10 inch has two different speeds so two size pulleys. Might be interchangeable but I'm not sure.

Thanks for making this video. I’m going to be buying this model I think. A full size 14” is out of my price range, and needs, and this one seems to be the best of all the benchtop models. I’m definitely going to be using your dust collection idea too!

Just purchased a Rikon 10-305 from Sears (their 10 inch bench bandsaw is being closed out so went ahead and purchased the more expensive Rikon). I want to make dust extraction such as yours, so thanks for posting the video. A couple measurements on the multiangular piece are missing. Otherwise it's a very useful instructional. Thanks.

Very good. Did you know that the Craftsman 10" bandsaw is the exact same saw? I bought mine at Sears and with all of the coupons it cost me $125.00. I agree that the supplied blade is not so good but I bought some good ones on Ebay and it makes a world of Difference.

Can anyone recommend what brand other than Rikon, to buy a 5/8” bar Mitre Gauge. Craftsman, Skill, Ryobi, etc. for my Rikon 305 Thanks!

Glad you like yours. I've had mine for a little less than a year and disappointed in it. The fence is horribly unreliable and just doesn't attach to the base very good at all. I'm not sure if I can't get blade tensioned right or if it's just a cheap blade like you say, but the blade bends or the motor bogs down. How did you determine the right tension? And what blade did you get? That'll be my last attempt to keep this POS, if not I'm ditching it and saving up for a Grizzly.

Hi I bought these same bandsaw and for me its impossible to cut curves , every time I try the blade goes out. Can you help me ?? I did change the blade , and now Im thinking in changing the motor. I have a 1/2 hp in 220 v a little bit bigger. What do you think about?? Thank you in advance Im Hector from Argentina
@works4me6 жыл бұрын
First, if you haven't already then change the blade. You should be able to cut any curves successfully with this saw if it's properly tuned with a good blade.

Are you still happy with it? I've been thinking of this model but haven't made my final decision yet. Was that little piece you made for the the extra dust port difficult? Thanks for the review!!!
@works4me6 жыл бұрын
I still love this little bandsaw. Keeping a good blade on it helps a lot as well as keeping the guide bearings pretty snug. The dust port isn't hard to make. You can buy the dust port part and then glue a wood block to the end and glue on some magnets.

what max size have you tried to re-saw? How well does this saw cut a straight line? I am tempted to get this saw, but I am fearful of reviews of smaller benchtop bandsaws never being able to reliably cut straight, especially with resawing
@works4me6 жыл бұрын
With a 1/2" 4 tpi blade you can reliably re-saw with this. You have to be mindful of how hard the wood is and your feed rate as 1/3 hp is limiting. I re-saw up to 3 and 1/2" on a regular basis cutting medium hard wood. No super hard woods though. If you are going to re-saw a lot then move up to the 14" Rikon with open base.
