Muchas gracias for the head-to-head comparison! I found it very informative. I just got a 10-305 (haven't even set it up yet), because the seller did not offer any other 10" Rikon models. Gotta say, now that I've seen what the 10-306 has to offer, I would've been tempted to drop the extra coin, if only they'd had one there. That fence looks pretty sweet, for one thing! And a stronger motor is never bad, either. Having said that -- I'm reasonably confident the 10-305 will serve my needs well enough, anyway. I'm only expecting to notch out pieces of 1x stock and this-and-that chunks of OSB and plywood. No matter how you look at it though, the Rikons sure are built WAY better than the plastic junk that just about everybody else is selling in the 9" and 10" range.

Just purchased and setup the 306. I love how quiet and efficient it cuts. My only question is the clamping mechanism on the fence. The directions specify not to apply too much pressure when clamping down the fence. I've adjusted the two nylon set screws, but still find there is a lot of pressure needed to clamp the fence. However, is it necessary to move the clamp to its maximum "down" position to secure the fence. I'm leaning toward "not". Just move it down enough to hold and maintain the fence into position when there is slight pressure against it when running stock. Would you agree?

DId they fix the problem of the blade guide not being square with the blade as you raised and lowered it on the 10-306, which was an inherent issue on the 10-305? Are the wheels factory balanced on the 10-306 as they are on the 10-305? If they did, I didn't see any balancing weights on the 10-306 when you opened it up but you can see them on the 10-305 wheels.

Good info. I have the 305 and it is a good little saw. However something you left out is that the 306 has Allen adjustment screws to adjust the back of the blade to the table and the 305 does not. Do you know if that adjustment plate is interchangeable? If it is, to buy the plate to swap out may not be cost effective.
@nperson6 жыл бұрын
I have a 305. I don't understand your question about adjusting the back of the blade to the table. The 305 has the rear bearing adjustment. What adjustment are you referring to?
@MrAffolder6 жыл бұрын
Nothing to do with the bearings. All about adjusting blade square to table, side and back. Trunnion on 306 has Allen screws to do this, 305 does not. Are trunnions on both machines identical except for the allens screws in the 306 trunnion?
@nperson6 жыл бұрын
@@MrAffolder I see what you mean. Front to back can be set but not side alignment. I suppose thin shims could be used but I just checked my saw and the blade is is in perfect alignment to the table.
@beretta02225 жыл бұрын
Coachman I have 10-306 and it does have those screws for micro adjustments to square your back of the blade with the table. You have to slightly loosen the four screws that hold trunnions plate first than adjust Allen screws in pairs like top two than bottom two.

I. Also quite interested in this comparison. Have you found your answer? I had a 10 - 306 and had to return it due to the blade flying off. It could probably be tuned but was out of the realm as the bottom wheel was out. I am thinking of buying a 3061 as I loved the 306 when it did run.

Hi eth I got a rikon bandsaw 10 305 , I changed the motor to a 220 V (for my country Argentina) ""''bigger ,"" And really I m very happy with the update. The question is that I got orson 1" 3 teeth blade that is very different than the 1/2 inch thinn one previous The point is that the machine has a better attack to the wood , but there is a lot of smoke on my garage now. Its not the motor , I feel that the widest blade makes it What do you think about?? Thank you very much for your video

What's your opinion on the Laguna 14 bx
@StockroomSupply5 жыл бұрын
Very similar to the 10-326 rikon in many way so that being said not a bad machine. The main difference is the guides. The laguna has ceramic guides which either you love or you hate. I personally am not a fan. Here’s a video where I talk about different guide setups; kzbin.info/www/bejne/nHeYkGaYZ5p_q68
