10 INCREDIBLE Hidden Details & Secrets in Gran Turismo 7!

4 details I noticed (in VR): 1. In some cars (mostly old timers) you can see your own reflection/helmet on glossy surfaces of the interior. 2. Some cars (I assume without AC) have the driver window down on a hot sunny day. 3. You can see the AI driver in the car you pass turning his head and looking into his side mirror. Once it even felt like he looked at me. 4. If its raining and the wind turns direction, the rain follows. All these details feel incredibly immersive in VR.

There is some details that I’ve also noticed: 1. The speed of the windshield wipers varies depending on the intensity of the rain, they will operate faster when it is raining heavily. 2. You can see more stars and you’ll notice that they’re brighter when driving in circuits that are located far from cities and have less lights. 3. Car taillights and warning lights are realistically different, as LED lights light up instantly while halogen lights light up slower. And much more details that are in the video and even more have been already mentioned in the comments. The plenty of details, actually makes it the “REAL DRIVING SIMULATOR”.

They could have added only one of those two… They look basically the same! Plus, this week we’ll get another modern Suzuki Jimny apparently. They could have used the Data space for something else in the game…

I've also noticed with the gear change, the hand comes off the wheel just before the ideal time to change the gear, in anticipation. Can be helpful for new drivers, so they don't bounce off the limiter before shifting

Hilariously, the gear animations break when you use a car that has less gears with its stock transmission than upgraded, such as the Ford GT40 Mk 1 (4 to 5) or the Chaparral 2J (3 to 5), with the shifter moving to nonexistent spots.

I still notice that tire changes during pit stops is backwards.example: if you have slicks on, and you come infor full wets, you actually get the proper tire, but the video of the tire change shows slicks going back on. The same happe s in the reverse. When you go back in for slicks, it will show wets coming off, but more wets going on, although you do get your desired slicks. It also shows the tires coming off on the leader board rather than the tires going on, for you as well as all your competitors

I just noticed an awesome detail in Gran Turismo 7 when you watch a replay of a race, the LED headlights on your car have that blinking effect, just like in real life when LED lights are recorded with a camera.

The sound bite also changes based on the specific mods on the engine. Fitting a race exhaust to a car will not only change the sound but also the way the exhaust is modelled under the car, with the Sierra RS5OO and the Volvo 240, for example, getting side pipes, and the VW Beetle 1200 getting a huge bosozoku style exhaust with the 911 swap

Great video, thank you! It's funny they put in all the effort for these, but they still couldn't get the pit operations correct. The tire wear indicator goes to full when it gets swapped, but the tire type remains until you leave the pit. - if you swap an RH tire to RM, it will show RH and only switch to RM when you're out. The actual surface of the tire also don't change. Racing tires have smooth surface, wet tires have grooves, but the new tire they put on will always show the same type of surface visually as the previous. 🤷

On Brands Hatch (and presumably other places as well), if you are watching a replay and you fo to take a photo at the end of the start/finish straight, on the left after the grandstand, all the spectators are fixed except for one, who looks at the camera no matter where you place it

I think i noticed a difference in the amount of spectators in the crowd depending on the event you do. For example if you're in a time trial the crowd is small but for larger events the crowd gets larger. Pretty cool you should check it out im not too sure but definitely give it a look

GT is the only car game that recreates car backfiring perfectly!!!! That also lights up the rear of the car in the dark if I remember!!! This IS SUCH a HUGE DETAIL that other car games namely Forza fails to do and is SO blatantly obvious and effective when its missing compared to when a game gets it right! Forzas is a stiff canned animation i think, i dont know the proper term for it.... Tons of videos of GT's cars backfiring in sync with the sound! GT's backfiring is flashes, pops and explosions! Forza's in comparison is like the same stiff rocket flame that doesnt react to direction of car travel and totally reminds you its a game

Interestingly in GT7 I have a habit of poping up pop up headlights when braking lol, and i never stopped to think if this matters in the game, now i know 😊 But it probably don't help much when braking cause the car is never going that fast, and pop up headlights don't have the effects of a big spoiler lol😅

The little things people are talking about no.963... The R32 Nismo has a warning buzzer when you exceed 70mph... BUT they couldn't be bothered to set the suspension up properly 🤔. Drive on a test at slow speed in 5th gear creep over 70(112kmh) & beep, beep, beep 😮. Priorities PD 🤦

The shifting gear animation is nice, however the driver does not press the clutch with his foot. GT4 had this....xD Also, the pitstops animations are amazing....though they cant seem to bother to update it to actually show the correct tire you are switching for.

i wouldnt say they cant be bothered..... if its all in a previous game then my inclination would be that they obviously want to implement it as PD are known for painstaking detail and obsession.... but rather like ALL their other assets, it will definitely take time to implement and update to current standards..... and these are the minor touches we're talking about that most people overlook Obviously everybody wants PD to implement new tracks and cars etc so obviously the resources are how do we divvy up our studio into the minor details vs major changes etc... GT is getting there too! just give it till GT8 / GT9 / PS6 / PS6 Pro LOL

I hate gt7 online (absolutely love the game though) every time I try online I get rammed off road and I'm always getting the penalties. It's ridiculous, sometimes I'll brake for a corner and get rear ended and I get penalized for brake checking. I can't stand it, no matter how good I try and drive I keep getting penalized for others hitting me. I wish they'd find a better way to do online. Like have car damage that requires pay to fix. (In game pay) Then maybe people would be more cautious. They aren't going to ram me if it costs a quarter mil to fix their supercar.

The sound is the least impressive thing here, although that has been the single biggest criticism of the entire Gran Turismo series and it has improved exponentially in GT7. The engine note is just from the car that engine came from. What it should do though is change with the different exhaust systems and/or camshafts (and possibly the induction noise from the intake). This is obviously a step above and may be a natural progression that I hope to maybe by GT8. They would need to sample at least one other version for each engine except for the actual race cars. What is surprising though is that there is more than one 4 rotor sound bite. The R26B 787B sound is different from the LM55 and RX-Vision. So it is not outside the realm of expectations either.

The one thing I've noticed with the wind and weather is that they never correspond. The wind is going north to south and the rain comes from the southwest or the east or some other random direction. They still haven't set those to the same parameters.
