'Bombay Velvet' I found the concept and characters utterly captivating. The cinematography, costume design and set production were particularly impressive, showcasing a unique 1950s Bombay. However, I couldn't shake the feeling that certain scenes felt empty, leaving me wondering ? I suspect the film's potential was hindered by these cuts. Even now, in 2024, I believe the original unedited version would have been fascinating to see, as the concept remains compelling.

Exactly my thoughts, I heard that it was originally planned to be a trilogy, although the movies wouldn't be direct sequels of each other but rather it would show the growth of Bombay/Mumbai throughout the various, would've been so awesome to watch.... I'm still waiting for them lol

That's the problem with CBFC. i think they still watch and certify movies with a very conservative outlook. Even after introducing new age rating categories, they still make unnecessary demands of scene cuts and censoring words. Remember back in 2010's, when they gave some hollywood movies "A" rating, even after censoring curse words and toning down the violence in some films.

Meiyazhagan edited scenes have some dialogues related to Tamil culture and the culture artistic values in the society and how it been slowly faded and it may be removed since it cannot be translated and understood by other language people since they are deep or may be some other reasons

@@SagarPatil-py9qq For Meiyazhagan it's not really a censorship issue (in fact the movie got a U rating) but the movie was trimmed from 179min to 158min because some people didn't agree with the movie's length and the production house thought trimming was a good idea so they released that 158min version on theaters then on netflix
