This is awful. How can you possibly make a foolish claim that Debussy "did not understand the traditional techniques" used by Saint Saëns because he was an Impressionist composer? Debussy completely understood everything about the master composers before him, yet he chose to go on to become one of the most original composers of all time. Such utter nonsense you wrote. All Impressionist composers could compose in the style preceding the Impressionist period. How can you evolve from something without first understanding it completely? Each great composer in history brought something original. And Impressionism was perhaps the singularly most original period of all. And Debussy was the master of the music of this period. How can you claim he lacked ANY musical understanding whatsoever? He was a colossal genius.
