10 INTERMEDIATE Mini Ramp Tricks ANYONE Can Learn!

It can be tough for beginners to learn how to skateboard but if you start off with these mini ramp basics it will get you started off on the right foot.

Thanks for this video! I am a 44 and grew up street skating. Now my 2 sons are really into skating and we skate a 5ft mini ramp twice a week. In the last 3 months I have progressed to the point where I can do 7 of the 10 intermediate tricks. These videos inspire me to keep going. Really need to get that FS rock down. Hopefully this inspires other old street skaters to get into ramp skating. I get the same feeling of accomplishment working through all these ramp tricks! Thanks Chad. @chad_caruso thanks for these tutorials man. im only on my second day skateboarding (at 28 years old), working my way through your list of 10 basic mini ramp tricks and already today i learned to drop in , pump, kick turn, rock fakie, switch rock, fakie tailstall, flyout, ollie and heelflip (randomly..)(i think landing ollie and heelflip came from what you said in the first video about getting confidence from doing drop ins and getting balance from kickturns and rocks) so my plan for the rest of my learning is: 1) wear pads and helmet - its such a confidence boost for commiting to tricks on a ramp (even just a small one) 2) keep watching these videos in the evenings for inspiration and tips on body weight distribution and foot position etc 3) take a note of all the 10 tricks from the basic mini ramp video and all the 10 from this video and write them on the underside of my board (or write on paper and tape them), so when im practicing i can go through them one at a time!

yo for the fs rocknroll i´d like to add that it helps a lot to look at where you want to go before you pull it back in, or put weight onto your tail so to speak. turn your head, look down into the flat, shoulders follow naturally, so do your hips and eventually your feet. i was struggling with fs rocks for a long time before somebody told me that. thanks andré.

With the fsrocknrill do you think it's harder to just go over the coating with just the truck or go completely in a board stall first? I can do them sorta sometimes with just the truck going over the coating but when I go all the way into a normal rock to fake it seems a lot more intimidating

Any advice for learning with bigger coping? The QP I’ve got to learn on has 2.5in diameter. I think most others have a smaller diameter or, on the one you’re skating, flat coping.

It’s my mission to get all of these tricks including the 10 easy mini ramp tricks. At the moment I can drop in back and front side kick turns( my front sides were really sketchy but I practised loads and now really comfortable full 180 turns), I can back side slash grind, I did have a sketchy rock fakie but took a couple of bad slams and lost my confidence so having a break from them( I’m 45 so bad slams are bad!) I’m just getting a little tappy tail stall and should have that soon. I can drop in from axel stall but can’t get into it. I’m trying to learn to fly out to help with the axel stall to get used to been on top of the deck as that is the issue I think.

I learned nose stall in baby steps First pumping back and forth up to coping Then rolling up and lifting rear truck before rolling back down Lastly commit to full nose stall and put it back down the ramp Remember to use pads your knees and elbows will thank you and can skate longer without getting burns 🙏

I am working on FS R&R now since about 4 months and it is a long journey. I can do it on a micro-ramp, and nothing higher than that. I just re-viewed your instructions and was wondering: you say that you turn your head to see where you are going, but that is not quite what you are doing. You turn your shoulders, but the head follows a bit later. In FS R&R instructions on other channels it is also mentioned to turn your head, and to even have your head and shoulders turned as much as possible simultaneously as you land the board on top of the deck, which means that you have to start turning even when you go up the ramp. What is your opinion on that?

Having trouble with the back side crook. The coping on my ramp makes it hard to get the wheel over. Really causes a "bump". What's the technique for getting over coping? When I do get over it really throws my balance off?

In part one I talk about learning the fakie tail stall before the drop in as a way of getting used to dropping in. I would recommend using the same technique for the nose stall.
