Sir,,, ur vlogs are way genuine & entertaining. Sir l hv a query here that can Jimny be an alternate to brezza as i like both the machines vry much , i don't do off roading , so is jimny reliable for nxt 10-15 yrs ? Can jimny be a primary car. I hv a nuclear family. Dil jimny kehta hai and dimag brezza. Plz suggest sir. Ur opinion mnz alot to me.
@MashofreaksAutoАй бұрын
Harpreet Ji, many thanks for your support and kind words, Sir! Before I really answer your question, I would like to understand which is not clear to me or I misread is that do you already have Brezza or you are planning to buy either of Jimny Vs Breeza?
@HarpreetSingh-mr7qyАй бұрын
Sir,, I m planning to buy between brezza / Jimny
@MashofreaksAutoАй бұрын
Okay, understood! Brezza is a very good indeed. If you are not doing much offroading and do not have plan to then I should suggest to save your money and buy Brezza. My personal suggestion is to refrain from Hybrid edition which is more expensive and once the Lithium Ion battery go off then it is too costly. I do not have exact figure but may be 50-60 thousands minimum. I am not saying the hybrid is not good. If you want I can make a video on comparison between hybrid and non hybrid models. May take a little time. Second part of your question as you have an immense inclination towards Jimny and I can understand. Suzuki is known for low maintenance cars, right? So Jimny is also a low maintenance car but being it is 4x4, it will be having higher maintenance than Brezza for sure in long period of time but if you will go for hybrid model of Brezza may equilize this to some extent. Jimny is comfortable or not is a very subjective thing but definitely it will not be as comfortable as Brezza. So what I suggest is, take a Jimny Demo with your family and drive it for 30-40 kms (it is possible, dealers really want to sell it) with family. Once you back from demo, discuss this with all your family members in a closed room. If all are happy then it is HAPPY YOU. In other words, you are somewhere convicing family members with the right logics and no DOUBT, all family member should be happily agree too. :-) If one is mentally prepared then Jimny is not that bad in ride like first Gen of Thar which can't be a family car at all. I am not saying I have given a complete answer to you but feel free to ask as many as question you like to ask for this clarification among Jimny Vs Brezza (non-hybrid) Vs Brezza (Hybrid). Hopefully, this answers you to some extent. Also, on coming weekend, next video also give you some good glimpse where you can see some discussion over Brezza which may again help you to understand these two vehicles better.

Maruti Suzuki India has set a new benchmark on how to screw up a legacy of trust. They have not only screwed up the trust they have built with their customers, but have also screwed up the trust and appeal of a global model. At this point all I wonder is what were those guys thinking (or smoking) before they decided to launch. I remember a video showing the MD talking about the positioning. He was asked why Jimny was not launched in 3 door, and his response was, price point will be poor. It's pretty clear now MS got greedy, considering all the discounts on offer. Am not an automobile Industry expert, but I just wonder if they had positioned the 3 door at a starting price point of 7 lacs, they would have captured a whole new market. Imagine young professionals who want a 4x4 but can't afford and end up buying "suv" cars which are anything but a suv
@MashofreaksAuto2 ай бұрын
My dear friend, this is an excellent message and makes a lot of sense. Smoking MD was a good one. Well the time of Great and Late Mr. Jagdish Khattar has gone and now as you rightly said the new way of thinking of MSIL is greedy and it is no more MUL now. Old days are gone. Apart from greed MSIL has lots of brand arrogance which you rightly said broke the trust of great Indian buyers because for us buying a car is not just a commodity but a lot more than that. Looks like that MSIL made a saturation point for them. They really need to take aggressive steps to fix this ASAP. Many thanks for your beautiful comment.

Sir I have previously used a pajero 3.8L v6 engine abroad which had the same issue in the doors no bottle holders..... Even in thar too the same, current thar ROXX also can accommodate customized bottles provided from mahindra.... But my point is whether there is any design protocol to avoid the bottle holders in 4x4 cars .... In regards to rear and co driver seats they should have pressure sensors which is costly for Suzuki 😅😅😅😅.... It's a common issue on all the suzuki cars..... De fogger exposed wiring is the worst thing I have seen only in jimny.... Another addition to your point AT gear lever is so basic and light they have to provide sturdy AT gear lever along with arm rest.... Lastly improving the seat support area also will be good...... If they do the things u have listed means that will be enough.... Suzuki please look at these user feedbacks and change ur marketing strategy and bring the car..... The thing happened to scross, kizashi and 2000s grand vitara should not happen to this machine.....
@MashofreaksAuto2 ай бұрын
Dear Mohan, it took a little while replying your comment. I must say this is a bit interesting question you have posted. There is no specific reasons for not giving bottle holders. Well, in previous cars bottle holders were not popular or common. Offroader SUV probably do not give because they don't want to keep offroading driver comfortable probably 😂 by saying why they need comforts at all. Enjoy the toughness thirstly, hungry, and tired 🤣🤣😂 In India, automobile industry only follow the trends instead of thinking much out of box. If competitor is not giving then why we? Defogger wiring is from the day first Gen4 Jimny JB64 launched back in 2018. It is really a cheap thinking. I am going to cover many more in missing features in Jimny. This is the reason I kept Cost Cutting and missing features into two different categories as I said in video today so I can provide minute details here, after all this is "Jimny Cookbook Series" :-) The day Kizashi was lauched I told Suzuki in one of the roadshow that this is not going to work because you are placing this against Honda Accord (which had V6 as well). Thanks for commenting and supporting. Help to spread the content if you like. :-)

Two other major cost cuttings are the absence of roll cage in a high center of gravity off roader and the low water wading depth. I suppose even if you install snorkel, you can not improve water wading depth unless you do a lot of component sealing. I would like to know your thoughts on these two major issues. No diesel engine option,, underbody protection, Tyres, with holding the 3 door version for Indian market and not launching a RWD version( like THAR RWD) are all blunders by Suzuki. Having driven Jimny extensively in city, i must say it makes an excellent city car aswell. High seating position, all around visibility and the high ground clearance with its offroad suspension to tackle pot holes makes city driving very stress free. Larger turning radius and parking in tight spaces are issues, but you will get used to it. Suzuki should hire you as a consultant, if they want to do damage control with Jimny in India 😊
@MashofreaksAuto2 ай бұрын
I respect your point of view however let me share my viewpoint as well on the pointers you have mentioned one by one, let me tell you some interesting facts: I agree for center of gravity piece for that reason formula one racing cars are normany divide its weight 50-50 ratio on front and rear suspension and balanced with center however it is little bad idea for regular cars because of high ground clearance or so. Secondly, no company word wide give a complete set of roll cage for such SUVs (may be Gurkha or similar world wide tried some) but the main problem here is that Suzuki is not offering any official caging or safety equipments on paid basis as well. This is one of the worst way how manufactures deal with the such a capable vehicle. Diesel option: For this, Maruti Suzuki is not good at that and used Fiat diesel engine in all its cars in past and due to Govt policies and heavy royality cost they decided to stop offering them so I really do not blame them. BTW, I am more happy with Petrol due to worst govt policies and high altitude capability of the petrol engine. Underbody protections: must be available officially on paid bases because every different kit in market have their pros and cons and more a disadvantages than benefits because most of us do not do offroading on daily basis. 3 Door Jimny: By lauching it is a biggest decision blunder of Suzuki due to their greediness and probably nobody wanted to take a responsibility to position it. A management blunder for sure! Tyres: I do not blame tyres completely because it is hidden gem for few things. My more that 20 min video will be there on 7th sept only on this topic. Watch that word by word and do not skip any frame to understand I am coming from. RWD: Well, this is a big engineering changes, it is like designing the vehicle from scratch because this vehicle is started directly from 4x4 :-) Trust me I am comfort is very subjective matter and everybody is having their own level of comforts. Let me give you a hint of mine, I driven first lauched thar model with canvas for 1635 Kms non stop (few refill stopover) in 21 hours from Delhi to Hyderabad in 2014 (Solo and this is not a sole long drive there are many over 1000kms in one stretch) and I felt comfortable just because I was passionately enjoyed that. So just talk about any terrain and I drive it except desert and I enjoyed it everywhere. Some wrong feedbacks go into market because many new 4x4 buyers never driven old offroader extensively. This is a charming vehicle trust me. I feel like a commander while I drive it and hills are my default terrain :-) TR is really a headache and this is knowingly done by Suzuki to save time, cost and reengineering efforts. I agree. I will be happy if I can consult them for something good but one thing I can't do is being biased with things, thats not my DNA. I praise what I like and also criticise wherever it is needed but I try to keep them at positive note for improvements but not to kill anything. Hope, this approach benefits everyone Viswanath ji. If you can help to get the content viral then may be soon Suzuki start hearing through "Jimny Cookbook Series". I assure you that you will see so many indepth contents going forward. BTW, thanks for your wishes.
@vishkum2ru2 ай бұрын
True Raj Ji. Suzuki should have offered roll cage, underbody protection, component sealing for water wading, snorkel, turbo option etc inhouse at extra cost. There are a wide variety of all sorts of kits for Jimny in foreign markets. They did not think through lot of things, despite having a lovely product at hand. Thar 3 door has a roll cage i suppose and they say Roxx also has a ring structure that serves a similar protective function in case of a roll over. Yes petrol is good for high altitude. Suzuki also abandoned diesel engines and went hybrid totally. Both of us would have loved better torque figures. Oh, is it such a huge task to convert it to a RWD. Thar did it, so i assumed its possible. Also 4x4 pickups from Mahindra and Tata come in both RWD and optional 4WD. Thar ROXX also have similar options...in fact there are more RWD variants in Roxx than 4X4 variants. Despite a long list of shortcomings, its an unique and passionate vehicle to drive. Yes, your unbiased approach is what makes your videos so interesting and thought provoking. If Suzuki fails to take feedback from passionate and intelligent users like you, too bad for them. I will share your videos with my friends who own offroaders. If there is anything else i can do to make your videos go viral, please let me know. Also few questions...1)Do you know why Jimny was banned in European market as a passenger vehicle and can be now only purchased as a commercial pick up cargo vehicle? 2) is there any latest crash test data for 5 door Jimny?
@MashofreaksAuto2 ай бұрын

@vishkum2ru2 ай бұрын
@@MashofreaksAutoOh...ok. I dont know why they are not crash testing it anywhere, despite it selling a lot in many countries like Australia. I would like to know your thoughts about the safety aspect of Jimny. Narrow cabin width, driver and passengers sitting too close to window, Roll over risks and the strength of the roof to prevent getting crushed in a roll over, overall safety aspects like steel strength, A-Pillar strength, door cross beams strength, crumble zones, Airbags and other high tech systems etc...i think old jimny 3 door scored 3 star in Euro NCAP many years ago. Suzuki in India are not particularly known for safe cars either ( i saw a crashed Baleno when i went to Nexa service last time to my horror) We need some one your calibre to do research and get the truth out about what to expect out of Jimny's safety. I know its a massive research to undertake, given the lack of data on crash and vehicle dynamics testing. And wow for you non stop Thar drive...😊

First of thanks for commenting 👍 1. I understand you are coming from and I also have another supporting statement with responsibility lies with the driver to keep the dipper on when length is not required also there is a headlight leveler to handle this other way but honestly speaking in dark highway road when no one in front cruising at 90 or 100 you will see many blind spots with the current setup of light which just above average. Hope, you can understand. Rest drive in hills in very dark night, you will also realise I am talking about. 2. Yes, you may be right but for customer point of view it is cost cutting if they are paying such an heavy price for the product.

I just dont agree with the insulation argument... The car is so silent on idle that when i gave it to my friend for a test drive, he cranked the car thinking it was turned off... How much more silent do you want it to be??! Its an ICE car not an electric... Most of us prefer to hear that engine sound and whining associated with high capacity suzuki engines... Why would any car lover want a silent engine is beyond me!!
@MashofreaksAutoАй бұрын
😊 I love to see your affection for the car. And you are right that at idle engine noise is not much. Suzuki petrol engines are quite silent at idle. A simple question, what is the use of hood insulation then? Secondly, when you go on high speed, say around 90-100, it creates lots of noise where NVH are so high. The insulation I put suppresses 80% of noises on the highway on high rpm. You must drive a Jimny with insulation to experience this my friend.

Just one suggestion, for fog lamps you need halogens. LEDs doesn’t work in dense fog. Another work around methods for lights will be using Portman’s magnetic lights, they just became available in India. They don’t require any drills, I’m planning to get it for my Jimny.
@MashofreaksAutoАй бұрын
Abhimanyu ji, a very good suggestion and a value add to the forum. For the same reasons, if you have noticed in the video that I mentioned 4200K LEDs. 6000K LEDs will surely make you blind in foggy trails. As per my opinion, it should be 4200K in headlight and Fog lamps both. These are well balanced everywhere. It is hard to find a very good quality 4200K LEDs because everybody wants 6000K. The stock halogens are so feeble and for bigger and brighter halogens you may need to change the wiring harness because of higher input wattage possibly including relays etc. because not rated existing wiring. Thanks for your valuable comment and suggestion. 😊👍

To add 1) Silly 40 L fuel tank why not a 50 Litre. Great minds stretched the vehicle so there should be space for a larger tanks. 2) Weak swing arm mounts. They will not Ofcourse come apart unless there is positive impact at speed. Stupid 200/- cost cutting. 3) Please inspect a Gypsy chassis and a Jimny chassis. While the Gypsy chassis is certainly not “overbuilt” it’s a single section formed chassis. The Jimny central chassis section looks so shabby. Too many joints -they will promote rust sooner than later. Overall it’s a good vehicle but absurd pricing and silly hype created by the MSIL mouthpiece, Shashank, made a mess out of it. #3…not sure but the crumble zone should be progressive front to centre. Perhaps more likely to do with stretching to a 5door and “filling up” that 300mm or so extra length. It’s compound coated that should discourage any aggressive rusting. so not really a deal breaker. Cheers ! All the best..

Hmnn, maybe it is quite a valid reason! But the point is that a single piece of steel can't give different tensile strength and using very high tensile material in full chassis is a costlier affair so just thinking of it. Thanks for your inputs and wishes!

These are not cost cuttings. Apart from the bare wires and seat belt warning beep, everything else is subjective. 1. Any phone can fit behind the grab handle in front of front passenger seat. 2. After a certain speed, wind noise is masks the engine noise, and below that speed, engine is relatively smooth. 3. Head lights are good in all conditions. 4. Fog lights should be yellow, and they are okay. 5. Glass is very heavy, thicker glass would have raised the weight unnecessarily. This car has a very strong chassis and a light body to keep weight under control 6. Iridium plugs don't increase efficiency, they are long lasting only.

1. Using grab handle holding phone is jugad not something given by Suzuki Sir. 2. Sometime drive my Jimny, you will see what is silent cabin at 100 or beyond. Things won't work the way you said. 3. For your usage, headlights are good but not for my or for night offroads for many. 4. I agree should yellow but have check the lumensity and cornering on hairpin bend. 5. I am happy for you are happy. Do offroad on boulders with half glass open and let me know honestly. 6. Research on it. I am using these and it is better for head, for coil and are more responsive as long as it is a perfact replacement. I post vetted information but for your use cases I too respect your opinion even some of them are hypothetical. Thanks for commenting.

Sir,Can you justify a 4 speed gearbox in 2023
@MashofreaksAuto2 ай бұрын
Absolutely no one almost a 40-50 years old technology, and I am 100% with you bro. This topic is in my list for a detailed review. Good point, but that does not apply to manual being 5 gears with bit a shorter gear speed range per gear. You will see some glimpse of it in next Sat video. Thanks 👍

Sir Not a single point raised by you really qualifies as cost cutting. Use the vehicle as is designed by the manufacturer. Don’t use too much brains. Leave the thinking and designing to the manufacturer. They do intensive testing for 3-5 years and then present the car to you. You can’t replicate their levels of testing during the vehicle’s lifetime with you.

My dear friend, everybody's ownership experience must be respected and for that reason I respect yours. The easiest thing in life is to object and I welcome your message. Hope, you value the critics in life which are for improvements but not to waste the brain on it. This is just a start you will see lots of content in favour and against including serious design issues and you should not mind putting others to put the brain into. Thanks. Thanks again for commenting and watching Sir.
