Fuel prices affect the price to ship such items out to rural Alaskan towns. We are used to such prices, that when rural people shop at places like Fred Meyers or Wal-Mart they go 🤪 do to the low prices targeted to attract a denser population ie Anchorage, Alaska Fred's is my Grocer, Mr. Prime just to grab their seasonings, and a few choice ribeyes cut 1 1/2 inches thick. Season, dry brine the steaks overnight then over charcoal grill to medium rare 😁. Thanks 😁

My husband was a truck driver and I was riding with him last summer in California when the container ships were in the bay waiting to be unloaded. The truck drivers were on stand by for weeks waiting. When we came back that way there weren't that many trucks waiting, because they had to move on to find a payload. They don't get paid for waiting. So please stop saying it's the truck driver's fault. It wasn't. It was the people who allowed the ships to stack up without coming into port.

One thing is China’s port are bigger than ours, they can get products here quicker then we can unload. Container ships were sitting over there ready to load back to back which made it worse. They didn’t only blame truckers, they blamed a shortage of workers who runs and works at the docks.

It's the control virus that caused this...all that non sense social distancing reduced production by like 70 percent and it is still rampant today $2.35 for a litre of diesel in ontario its because the government doesn't want people moving around its pure control and greed everytime a grocery store runs out of a specific product or item the next load they receive will be more expensive than the last

Kate Hun. I work in retail and I don’t blame the drivers. They work long hours. Some aren’t paid very well, some wages don’t match inflation. They are part national labor shortage. The gas prices were insane last month, and the two months prior. The warehouses are short, the distributors are short. People say “we can’t blame Covid. Covid is over” and I then respond “the social economic effects of the corona virus had lad to inflation and mass turn over to a year of extreme loss in profits, massive turnover, and high levels of inflation. That are effect global industries.” And I walk away. It’s hard but, trust me we aren’t blaming the drivers.

I’m a 23 year old truck driver. I’ve been driving for the last 2 years. My dad has driven trucks his whole life and is now 60 with no retirement. If I keep going down this road I too will have no retirement and have to sacrifice quality of life just to make ends meet. Until places give us drivers consistent pay and benefits rather then use and abuse us then lay us off when it’s convenient for them. The sooner you won’t have a shortage of drivers.

My husband drives a truck, has for 25 years. Truck drivers have no retirement, don't talk to me about 401 K's they are a joke. Truck drivers, driving in the transportation field should get a comfortable amount of Social Security, and not have to wait until age 68 0r 70 to get it. It is the only retirement funds truck drivers will have, they deserve better. That or keep losing drivers and having a messed up, slow, supply chain.

Kethup is so easy to make. I can't have high fructose corn syrup so learned to make it homemade. You can use can tomato sauce or paste. I like to use the sauce and reduce it down. Just add sugar, salt, pepper and vinegar in a pot and simmer it til it thickens. I add other spices too like chili flakes and paprika. Better than the store bought.

I have a working for a grocery distributor for 23 years now. And I can tell you there is no shortages of anything. Just the increase in cost. All of this is due to relying on other countries for these products and fuel costs. If you have a problem with this call your senators and your president and complain to them. Good luck with that. And stores have been cutting back on hours for years now way before 2020.

Employers down here in Texas are ending third shifts for safety, security reasons as well as costs. The open border has made some areas unsafe because parking lots often are full of mostly young men that play Robin Hood nd run by a grocery cart and grab food etc before being even seen. Yes I'm handicap and my Uber drivers even some coworkers prefer driving their own hours and controlling how much money they can make. With so many of us too relying on home delivery? Business adapts or dies. Change is inevitable. The best part is getting what you want when you need it. Rather then shopping around only to find it out of stock or no longer available. As prices rise discount retailers are busy. It is how the world operates. Sadly. Housing, utilities and now fuel, is still eating us alive. My housing cost will eat up my COLA increase this year. Sad but true.

You know why milk is going to be short, first a few years ago beef was high and milk was low, so older farmers without a generation to follow sold out, and those cows went to beef. Second around 2020 Dariy Farmers of America, one of the largest cooperatives in the country instituted a quota, so farm production was limited to that farms previous years production. Also during the pandemic a great deal of the stored dry milk was used up, and because of the other three reasons it has not recovered. Forth Grain prices are high, so many farmers are feeding less of it, leading to the cows producing less milk. One good thing out of this the dairy farmers are seeing good prices, that haven't been there in almost 6 years, around $25/100lbs of milk, or around $2/gallon.

Went grocery shopping tonight and was looking to replenish my supply of Heinz ketchup. All 'original' forms of the recipe were gone except for the tiny 14 oz., and the super huge, like 46 oz., for over $7.00. I took the smaller one because we still had a little left in the bottle, and we don't use it that fast. This was just one example of the price-gouging I experienced tonight, among MANY items of basic uses and needs.

Let’s be totally honest, there is no labor shortage. Can we stop saying that?! Pay people enough to live and they will work for you. Restaurant and retail workers went and did something else because you didn’t want to pay them to put up with ignorant customers. Some of these factory workers make more than I do! And my work has a very small staff so the owners can’t afford to offer any benefits. I live from paycheck to paycheck, and still don’t even ask or get any government assistance. Sometimes I think some workers get too big for their britches and want paid way more than necessary. Some jobs are harder, like driving trucks across the country, or fixing a large complicated machine. But some are just tedious only, anyone could learn the position with the right training.
