@@LindsAyWithAttitude Several things, but here are some of my favorites: 1) Costco's Kirkland Signature brand is as good of quality as any name brand regardless of what it is (toilet paper, coffee, milk, etc.); 2) Can not beat the food court all beef hot dog with drink for $1.50, and the other food court items are pretty good too; 3) $5 for a 3 lbs cooked rotisserie chicken that tastes better than any other store--all other stores charge more too (I have tested and compared); their prepared items are delish (I like the cilantro lime shrimp especially); 4) they almost never give you any trouble on returns; 5) the employees are usually happy and helpful and like their jobs; 6) they go out of their way in customer service; 7) they have a great roadside package for cheap when you purchase tires; 8) they refill your tires with nitrogen whenever you want for FREE; 9) their gasoline is great quality and usually less expensive than surrounding gas stations; 10) it is fun to sample to your heart's content; 11) their pricing is very reasonable when you compare individual items (like 40 rolls of high quality Costco toilet paper is about $0.20 each roll, less expensive than the cheapest at Walmart); 12) they have great service deals from other vendors for small businesses, travel, etc.; 13) the executive membership gives you cash rewards and they will refund you the additional annual cost of it if your cash rewards didn't pay for it; 14) their frozen chicken breasts are individually packaged within the bag they come in; and 15) ONE OF MY MOST FAVORITE THINGS...ALMOST EVERY PRODUCT THEY SELL IS EXCELLENT QUALITY! Seriously, their corporate buyers do an unbelievable job at finding great products. In 12 years, there may have been 2 products I bought at Costco that I did not like. Usually everything is the best quality, groceries and everything else.

As a former manager of CDS, Club Demonstration Services, the ONLY company Costco contracts out in North America and 8 other countries, this is a very accurate well done video surprisingly.👍🏻. I left my position just this year , March 14, 2020 was my last day. 6 yrs I was the manager . I got burned out. There is a ton of work that goes on behind the scenes. I managed 30 to 40 staff with up to 15 demos a day. Up to 20 during Christmas, 7 days a week, 2 six hour shifts overlapping a day😳. It was extremely stress inducing, believe me. My manager piling more responsibilities just as you start doing previous added responsibilities well.... it was never ending. Do more with less! It was coming down the line from her manager, and so forth up the chain. It was brutal. They wanted to do all the demos, not just the food ones. We sold coats, shoes, bbq’s and whatever else the company could get their hands on. We generated over $2.5 million in sales per year for the warehouse I worked in. I was paid a paltry $42,500 a year, with benefits, paid vacay and yearly bonuses. Not near enough for the work I was expected to do. Should have been at least $55-60 thousand 😒 I’m not bitter though seriously. But I just had to get out. Now I’m just chilling 😎, stress free enjoying my first summer off in 6 years 😂. Again good video though. Pretty accurate. So be nice to the demonstrators. They take a lot of verbal abuse and sometimes inappropriate touching by creeps.😒who will brush really close behind them and yes, actually grope the women. Gross. We do also know where most things are, more than Costco staff usually😂. I’ve actually had a member swipe a full tray of samples onto the floor because she was reminded to not stick her hand in the bowl of crackers that we had sample product in. We throw out the whole bowl. I don’t know where your hands been 🤮. What do you think the muffin liners of samples on the red tray are for? Not just for looks 😂. Thanks for reading this long ass comment if you made it this far. Peace out. Enjoy the samples after COVID.

We are REQUIRED to talk about the product that we are selling and it is tough to do that when a person just grabs and goes and you are talking to the back of his or her head. Samples isn’t a very big thing in the supermarkets I frequent, and we don’t have Costco here in Sweden. But for some reason I’m often shy to try samples even when I see them, if I do try samples I only take one or one of each version if there are more than one kind available at the tray, and always make sure to say thank you and have a chat with the person working there if it’s not too busy. It’s just nice to be kind and maybe make someone’s workday a bit better :) When I do try some sample it’s also common I like it and may buy it, like one time when there was coffee samples in my local supermarket, tried different roasts and it was actually a really good coffee so mum and I bought some, it was a brand we hadn’t tried before and probably wouldn’t have found unless trying some in the shop. We still stick to our usual brand for the most part, but the brand we tried that day is a nice alternative if wanting some change.

Thanks, BabbleTop! I really like Costco, but it can be frustrating sometimes when they carry an item for a while and then.....suddenly don't. (Happened to me with Farmanns brand dill pickles a couple weeks ago). I usually don't try the samples because I'll feel obliged to buy it and guilty if I don't. One time, however, they were giving out these spinach and mozzarella raviolis. I lined up to get a sample and went "Mmmm", made a U-turn to the freezer and got a bag. She was busy with other shoppers but I passed by slowly, so she wold look up at me. I was holding up the bag and giving her a thumbs-up and said thank you. I could tell from her eyes that she had smiled. (Sample workers in Taiwan almost always wear surgical masks.) It worked for me! I've been buying a bag of those things every few months for probably at least 5 years now. Those things are freezer items, but they're GOOD!!!! Great video!

Its a common misconception that Costco moves its product around for a "treasure hunt" experience. We simply do not have time to move things around just to screw with people. I am a merchandiser at Costco and we have certain quotas to make, for example, we have mandatory endcaps, promotional fences and focus items. We also are constantly getting in new products and selling out of old ones, so we are constantly trying to recategorize to make things "flow." Just sayin☺

@@laurachaidez4079 I work for the company that does the Costco demos. I hear that a lot - "how come the sample we taste here is better than the one I make at home?". The answer is usually a number of reasons. To begin with, often the people we hire love to cook and are really good at it. And when you cook one specific product for 6 hours you tend to figure out what you're doing. Also - the ovens we use are usually excellent convection ovens. They cook fast and great. You probably don't have that at home. The same with our griddles - you're probably using a pan on the stove. It does OK but not quite the same. But some of it, I think, is just perception. You're simply walking up on a product sample, you can already smell it before you taste it - you haven't had to prep, clean, prepare, or doing anything other than just reach out and grab it. You have no investment in it, the bar is low - the chances are it is going to taste great. Just some thoughts... (We love your business...)

For a long-time Costco member like me, this video really doesn't tell you much more than you already know. And the advice on samples is dated as the number of samples has been drastically reduced, and if you don't eat meat or poultry, there is even less choice.

These people do not work for Costco. This is a separate company that does the sampling. I don't think they follow the rules of Costco. You should not allow your children to run from table to table, this is just rude.

Getting samples is a real turn off when you have people acting like starving animals willing to get in a fight for some samples. I had one woman walk up to me and take some food right out of my hand, I kidd you not. I just let her . I'm not getting a sample unless there is no one else at the sample table.

The workers handing out the samples are not Costco employees. They are employees of a separate company called CDS. They follow their own policies, not Costco’s, including sanitation, etc.

It is rare for supermarkets to hand out samples where I live. I only remember 2 times in the past year. I live in New Zealand and Costco is meant to be coming here soon but I suspect it won't fit in this market. Australia already has Costco. I would never sample things that I'm not likely to purchase or take more than one sample that's just rude but maybe it's normal in America etc. It's no wonder there is a high levels of obesity in the world these days including in my country.

We don't go to Costco because of the samples isn't perfect my husband refuses to eat them. We go to Costco because in business reports it has turned out that Costco has only an 11% markup on their products compared to the average of 15 to 20% on Amazon and Sam's Club grocery stores have 33% on their shelves Etc. The big problem with Costco is you get in there and if you're not careful you'll overspent because you do realize the prices are lower if you are a good shopper and know your pricing. So you have to be careful and stay on budget that's the hardest problem. They have an excellent return policy it doesn't matter how long you've owned it you can return it. With computer products like printers Etc my girlfriend has abused the system and gotten a brand new printer every single year to just goes up to the next one in the brand as Costco sells out of the number that they have purchased for the year. There's a really good video on KZbin that explains all of this.

People will wait in front us for 10 plus minutes for a piece of a corndog. 90% of the customers dont say thanks as well. It's the most degrading job that you can have and gives you a good idea of how poor mannered the common American person is. As for being super clean that's also a lie. We have a wash and sanitize sink like any common restuarant and will often wear our gloves for hours. Feel free to ask me any questions. I'll answer them honestly.
