True. But they don't want certain people to succeed. So they don't want people to know these things.

I say this with the kindness of my heart, this rich history that we all have watch won’t be taught in the schools it’s best that we the parents teach it to our children and pass this knowledge & success to our family members and neighbors in the community. Because although you’re absolutely correct that this should be taught in schools, the system is what needs changing. I am a American born of Jamaican parents and I wish that I knew more about what successful black ppl have contributed to the world in such a successful manner. But the media is run by the opposite race that only want to show the worst in us than the best. I actually didn’t know that Dr. Katherine Johnson and Mary Jackson was a Jamaican. Wow I’m so happy to know this. She was in the movie Hidden Figures.

Amazing that you didn't mention Hedley Jones, inventor of the solid body electric guiter and double neck bass and guitar. tandem. The double neck instrument has been used by bands such as Led Zeppelin, The Eagles and Whitesnake, plus many other bands. A variant of the design was also seen in the last Mad Mad film (Fury Road)

Hadley Jones was apart of the same contingency of Jamaican Airmen alongside my grandad. They enlisted in the Royal Air Force during World War II and came to Britain in the 40s, they were said to be very capable engineers, mechanics and a “happy-go-lucky group of lads” by the locals at the time. Many, like my granddad, stayed here in the UK after the war, others like Hedley Jones returned to Jamaica after studying in Britain. Jones also created some of the first sound systems if I’m not mistaken, as well as grinding his own lens elements for telescopes. 🔭 Would be amazing if these are all somewhere in a Jamaican museum.

My mother was Catherine Johnson also a great woman. She was the principal for the Primary school in our district andElder for our community church. She was named after her paternal grandmother who bears the same name.she has a niece and a grand niece named after her. She was a God fearing lady who was role model in our community. I am certain what we name our children can be very impactful.

I hate to point out an error in your information. I am a born Jamaican, and a proud member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. My Fraternity brother, Dr Ernest Everett Just was NOT born in Jamaica. He was born in Charleston, South Carolina on August 14, 1883 to Charles Just Jr. and Mary Just. Other information provided about his research is correct but definitely not his birth place. Could it be that one, or both of his parents were from Jamaica? He was the facility adviser, to Bro Love, Bro Cooper and Bro Coleman and together they founded Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. on the campus of Howard University on November 17th 1911. Omega Psi Phi is the first black Fraternity founded on a black college campus. Point of information and correction.
