90 hr work and 7 day week without any day off is wrong on all 3 counts- emotional, physical and mental health. Emotional, as giving time to family is also imp, and without it, our relationships will sour. Mental, as 13 hrs of work a day can result in mental exhaustion and brain fog; it is not humanly possible to work for so long all 7 days of a week. Physical, as long hrs of sitting without exercise can lead to problems like obesity, which can lead to further complications. There should be work life balance. An overworked employees is not an efficient one. He/She is neither creative nor innovative. Efficiency, creativity and innovation are what it takes an organization to progress. Without these qualities in employees, organizations can't survive for long. The suggestion put forward by L&T executive, if implemented, will create a toxic work culture, wherein employees will consider their work as a burden instead of enjoying it.

i agree that this is the time of nation building, but nations' foundation is not its economy only but also its society. Many developed countries like Italy and japan are struggling with the decline of the institution of family system. India should work on preserving family values. Family values are directly related to human development like when family values are intact, it creates a strong ecosystem for an individual to prosper. even Narayan murthy is successful because Sudha murthy gave him support. And that is becoz she has good family values. But if these tycoons thing youth can still give time to family after their 90 hr week demand, they are delusional. All the family system will collapse and suicide rates will also go up. In japan, Youth have developed anti-social behavior due to lethal work culture.
