Hi Sir Wade! Can you talk about MoCap? I see lots of people on LinkedIn who work as MoCap Technical Artist... but where can I study to be a MoCap Technical Artist? There are lots of online Animation schools (Animation Mentor, iAnimate, AnimSchool, AnimSquad, etc) and lots of Animation courses in prestigious universities but I can’t find a Motion Capture course anywhere! Where can I learn MoCap from scratch? (for reference, I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Film and I have studied animation, including 2D, stop-motion and now 3D).

Also jumping on board to request more info on animation/VFX pipelines. There's very little detail available online and a lot of the lecturers in schools haven't worked that high in the field (or at least haven't for a long time) and don't give out a lot of information either. Letting people know what their options are as they join the industry would be extremely beneficial and help students focus their study.

The Art Department is also another big area with tons of job opportunities. A lot of people and students don't know about this and think that most of the asset creation is solely done by the animators or programmers, when in fact there is a whole separate department for asset creation at most studios. There are Character Artists that focus on modeling and sculpting characters before handing them off to the Riggers and Animators, there are Environment Artists that build out the assets for the virtual set, there are Prop Artists, 2d and 3d Concept Artists, Clothing Artists, Face Sculpting Artists, Blend Shape Artists, Resurfacing Artists, Texture Artists, Look Dev Artists, Lighting Artists. The list goes on. There are SO MANY job opportunities in the CG industry. It's sad that a lot of people don't know about this and think that being an Animator is the only fun and artsy job in the industry. This video and videos like this are great ways of educating students about all the amazing opportunities that lie ahead. Looking forward to seeing more content like this!
