Natalie Sheldon makes the cutest scrappy advent sock projects and a few of them are even free. They would be a good addition to your list😊

The Beekeepers Quilt by Tiny Owl Knits is a good scrappy project. And each little hexipuff feels like its own completed project. Its one of those good starter blankets too.

Love these suggestions. You could also add Helen Stewart’s designs like the Habitation throw and Land if sweets cowl which can be advents or leftovers projects 💚

This video is so enjoyable and so useful as I hate wasting any scraps of yarn! Thank you for the enormous amount of research you must undertake to get all this information for us! My go to scrap project is the Habitation Throw by Helen Stewart. I’ve always got one on the go and you can just add random scraps or plan a stripey project if you prefer. Thanks again Natalie x

The new daft days shawl by Rebecca clow is a great advent project. I have chosen a main colour then added each mini as a stripe and it only uses 1- 5 g (increasing as it gets larger). I've found it to be a really addictive knit and it's a lovely texture!
@All.things.grandish11 ай бұрын
Thank you SO much for this! I had a 24 20gr mini plus full skein advent this year and thought I was pretty clever to find three patterns that used diminishing amounts of the minis (Candy Cane Lane Advent Shawl and Vittorio Cowl which used only minis and socks which I striped in order of the days alternating the full skein). Yes, it was A LOT of knitting in December. But…I have 3 - 5 grams of the minis left and I was just going to throw them into a granny stripe blanket but thanks to your hard work, I’m now going to make a Musselburgh! I have around 70 grams of the full skein to use for half of the hat. I absolutely loved my advent this year from Yarn Ink so having a whopping 4 projects from it makes me very happy :). Thanks again for doing the hunting and math for us!

I am working on the cozy memories blanket. Says ish 5g per square. However I have used smaller bits in one square, kind of making stripes in the square. So easy and fun. Thank you for your ideas.

The Litmus Cowl is also an amazing pattern for scrappy bits from advents. I made a matching Musselburgh/Litmus Cowl set using my advent calendar this year. It was easy to keep up with during the busy holiday season and super cute once I finished it (if I do say so myself 😊). Thanks for the ideas, Natalie!

I’ve been using a modified version of the Lake Pepin blanket as my scrappy project, my advent leftovers will be added to that! It’s a Tunisian crochet blanket really similar to the Chevron/arrow blankets you shared, it’s intended for dk yarn but you can just hold the fingering double with itself or a contrast color.

The excavation blanket is a great scrappy blanket that I have going. It’s got tassels at the ends so no ends to weave in and you can use tiny tiny scraps to use up every last bit of yarn!

Thank you so much for a great video! I have so many small remnants of advents and other skeins. One pattern I have found that is great for 4-5 grams is the Unicorn Cowl by Casapinka. It is a DK weight cowl but you add 7 colors of fingering too, 4 g each. And the cowl is reversible!

I just started with a magic knotting ball and I'm so curious to see what it will look like when I knit with it! A pattern I recently came across that can be used quite well for scraps is The Mackintosh Roses Shawl 🌹

Another great pattern that lets you use up every last inch of scraps is the Stash Dive Raglan by Summer Lee. Not one you can do with only advent leftovers, but can easily incorporate them. The pattern calls for one strand of worsted weight (in a solid colour) held together with one strand of fingering (which changes as you wish). But I’m doing mine in three strands of fingering instead, and the gauge works out the same.

Thank you so much. Thus bundle is fantastic. I used your Advent bundle to find a sweater that is now on my 2024 queue. I LOVE the Christmas Chaos sock and the Collins Tee. I already had a stocking on my 2024 queue but I think I'll use some of the Christmas Chaos charts. Fortunately the stocking is 72 stitches!!

Here are three to add t your list. Whats great about them is providing you have enough main color that often comes with the advent for day 25. Or you have a color you want to add as a main color in these projects you don’t use your entire mini in any of these projects allowing you to use them for multiple scrappy/mini projects. 1. Full of Minis Hat by Barbara Nalewko, Hat very warm 2, Taking Shape by Megan Doherty, Scarf 3. Lucky Brteak by Lisa K. Ross.

Lovely video with great ideas! The Adventuring Cowl (comes as part of a set with a scarf and wrap) from Ambah O’Brien uses only 16 yards (about 4g) of 25 colors and it’s a nice easy project.

Maybe it's more of a stash buster project, but I'd recommend looking at the Sea Glass Hat, Tee, and sweater by Wool & Pine. They give recommendations on how much yarn you need per row.

The Musselburgh took more than 1 skein if you want a folded brim. I've made it twice with fingering and DK and both times needed 2 skeins to complete it with some left over.

Hi Natalie, Kent & Toaster! I loved watching blog as this year. I’m in Australia so I enjoy seeing where you’re off to on your trips 🙂. I don’t knit, only crochet and I’m wondering if there is a crochet equivalent to the Musselburgh beanie? It always looks so good and I’d love to find something similar. Thanks

I have watched your videos for a long time. You never hesitate to mention designers, dyers, or project bag makers that have podcasts, and you give them a plug. Is that only for a select few. You mention Kay Jones frequently yet you NEVER mention her podcast. She and her husband publish a delightful podcast called the Bakery Bears. I know I have mentioned this to you multiple times and I don't know if others have, also. I challenge you to watch a couple of their podcasts!
