I will share the things I discovered. I don't know if they're well known but I like them and here they are: 1. CTRL and left click on the layer thumbnail to select everything inside a layer (sort of like the magic wand but inverted) 2. Drag the layer out of the layer docker to double it. 3. if you want to enlarge a layer with the Transform tool without messing up the width and length, just press SHIFT while enlarging it. 4. while using Transform tool, right click inside the selection to get many options on how to transform, including perspective which is super useful. 5. Press F to instantly use Fill (who knew)

One point of convenience I like is there is a button on top right that lets me switch workspace with just 2 clicks instead of fiddling with the drop down menus. So I got multiple workspaces made starting with a number and then a name, so they show up in order of my preference. I use selections a lot as well. Like there is a selection that can select based on color. And holding down Shift and Alt it selects things within a selection which I have found surprisingly useful. And with shape tools Shift alt control are your friend. After dragging out a shape holding down Crtl scales from the center. Holding down Alt lets you move it, Ctrl+Alt lets you rotate it. The last one is especially useful I find, didn't know I needed it until I had it.

As someone just starting out with digital art for fun, I kept seeing artists doing things that looked so useful but never explaining what part of the program they were using. another option for the shape fill brush is a similar one to the csp one, althought it doesn't count as a brush, it's still a great feature. It's the enclose and fill tool next to the bucket tool on it's right, when you use it though, make sure you have a copy of your lineart layer because it fills inside the lines only if you use it on the same layer

Ok ok I need to share this since I haven't seen a lot of people talking about it 1. Tool information docker: it's a docker which reveals so many hidden properties of all the tools you use like holy shit please keep that in your workspace 2. Perspective tool: really really useful and support many types of perspective even fisheye 3. You can also tween in krita. It's also in a docker (I'm forgetting the name) but if you change your set-up to animation it'll be there right next to your timeline
@itsdianachan3 ай бұрын
its the Animation Curves Docker :3, and while im at it here is how to tween in krita: 1. start with a simple object, like a circle or any simple shape and draw it on a separate layer, then right click the layer, "add > add transform mask". 2. Add the Animation Timeline and Animation Curves Docker to your workspace, i usually squeeze mine at the bottom. 3. Select on the animation timeline where you want your animation to start, or keep it at frame 0, dont make a new frame tho! Here is the funky part: go to the animation curves docker and press the button that looks like a diagonal platform/pinball spinner with a plus on it, it reads "Add keyframe to control scalar property" 4. Now move to the frame which you want the object to "tween" to, and move the object in the layer to its next location on the canvas, now press the spinner with a + button again, change your clip end frame to something shorter so you can see the looping tween in motion without having to wait ages. 5. If everything went right, tadaa! Your test now successfully tweens! Ive yet to learn how to make animation memes with the tools ive got so thats all i have to say unfortunately :x

11:05 Even easier method for tip 9: Set the layer blending mode to Multiply. (you'd need to flatten the layer first in this example as it also doesn't affect the layer style) I did a quick test and it seems to act in exactly the same way as the gradient map. (The 'inverse subtract' blending mode does not) However, pointing out the location of gradient maps in Krita is also helpful!

Ahh... The multi brush tool and the transparent gradient trick is new to me and gonna be very helpful for future project. In exchange, I can tell you some of my Krita tricks to help you. -When selecting an area, press "shift+backspace" to automatically fill the selection without using the bucket or brush. In photoshop, it's "alt+delete", and in medibang it's "insert". -For extra effect in post processing, use the "G'Mic" option at the bottom of Filter tab. -If you wanna kinda "cheat" in pixel art, I usually resize an image into low resolution, then got to filter > map > palettize. After choosing a very limited palette, resize it again with "nearest neighbor" to it's original size and, Voila! Krita is very versatile and bountiful with secret techniques. ^^
