Hates color and loves lineart? FINALLY! I'm not a alone! I have found one of my people. The amount of times I've heard people say that coloring was their favorite part of the process when I have always found it the most boring and tedious part of it all, always made my mind boggle. Line art and inking techniques are the most fun and interesting part to me.

I find it offensively distracting. Multitasking when doing art is very detrimental. You might see playing a game as taking a break, but the truth is that it'll permanently affect your focus and energy span for the rest of the day. I think doctor K and Marc Brunet have talked about this.

@@_sn0wbl00d that just doesn't make sense at all. Basically every professional artists use reference. Even Gi himself did.... it has nothing to do with being an expert or not. Especially since so many beginners do not use reference

I feel you here. I like sketchy styles by some artists with not only imperfect lineart or coloring but even sometimes with imperfect anatomy... but I have to try so hard to stop myself from perfecting my own pieces on all stages. Still can't bring myself to like my own scrible-like takes while loving some other's scrible-like pieces, it's actually so hard to make appealing 'rough' pieces haha.

Discovered you channel just recently. Your art is awsome, and as an artist myself, I do relate to a lot of struggles that you talk about! Especially the struggle of feeling that you draw WAY too slowly, when looking at how other artists do just fine without a sketch. Your words actually made me realise that, yeah, I shouldn't go too hard on myself and just speedrun a drawing. In the end of the day, for me, it's all about the fun of creating! We're not speedrunners, we're artists, and as any skill goes, we should take our sweet time to grow and learn. Thank you for your content, keep it up! Your art (and, ofc, your YT channel) deserves attention!!

I do music as a hobby and holy shit it's so relatable, reworking the draft over and over again until the base structure is set and good, then refining to completion and re-recording and editing stuff just takes forever. Some of the drafts stayed unfinished and forgotten for a few years before I returned back to them with new skills and motivation. I'm still figuring out how to be more productive, but I think I finally accepted how slow things go. I'm glad I found this channel! The videos are insightful and entertaining.

This was a really good video and an incredible drawing ❤ Regarding the Kim Jung Gi approach I’ve definitely fallen into that before, but I found it really enjoyable when I was able to get a decent result out of it so my approach became limited construction. I’ll draw out the guidelines I need for things I don’t understand / can’t recall well such as the perspective of the arm in certain poses and more so free hand the other elements I do understand / can recall better. It keeps the drawing process fun while also making sure each element is well drawn since visually drawing out the elements I don’t understand helps me fix it more accurately

Gonna leave a heartfelt one for algorithm 'n' love of your work ❤ It is incredible and inspiring that you were able to make such a drawing without references. Personally my art devolves into caveman etchings without one. From my experience starting out out in art I learned two things quickly; 1) Take your time. I once thought that the measure of a good artist is the ability to crap out perfect sketches at light speed. Instead I just applied knee crowbars to my drawings by rushing. 2) USE REFERENCES PLEASE BURN EYE HOLES INTO YOUR REFERENCE. Being able to draw this well without a reference is an awesome display of experience and well-developed fundamentals. Keep it up skibidi toilet miku woman.
