The Trek Marlin has been in the UK for sometime. What puts me off is that the battery is not removable and you have to store the bike indoors over the colder months which isn't ideal for everyone

Non removable battery has always been a bit of a problem for cold weather areas. Hope trek finds a solution on next gen

Question for anyone who will answer. I’m looking at buying used EMTB. I have a choice of Bulls E-STREAM EVO AM4 2022 with 130 miles for $2500 or 2021 Giant TRANCE X E+3 PRO 29 with 520 miles at $3000. Thoughts? Use: Fire roads and single track around my area. I’m 57 years old, 5’-11” and weigh 165

Before you buy used find out if a dealer or shop close to you that is willing to perform service for the two different motors. I would make that the priority for choosing bikes. Question Is the E-stream EVO Am4 this? www.bullsbikesusa.com/copperhead-evo-am-4-750.html

@@frankiesemtb I don’t think the guys I’m negotiating with would allow me taking the bike to a dealer shop to have the motor serviced or checked. I didn’t think that was an issue, but guess that might steer me away from buying used

@@BrentBehringer what I meant to say is find out from your local shop that you frequent and ask which one of these bikes is easier for them to work on if you do run into motor issues. Both motors in general are out of factory warranty so any fix or replacement will likely be out of pocket. There are some great deals on new bikes out there. So the rear shock adds $4000 to most bikes?

In a simple answer yes! But here is a longer explanation why. When you add a rear shock you are now extending the amount of travel in the rear to soak up bumps. In order to do that you need to separate the front triangle and the rear triangle. Than we need to add pivots and create a linkage that connects the two triangles together. a ton of moving parts are needed for assembly vs a ridged hardtail. There are a lot more complications when it comes to full suspension I’m only scratching the surface. But with that said.. i never understood the high cost of road bikes 🤦‍♂️

Super light is industry hype at a premium price. there is little advantage in a 40 lb carbon bike as opposed to a full power 50 lb aluminum bike . in a full power bike 10 lbs is negligible . your paying for the prestige value not any mechanical or performance improvements . and 10% to40% off is not a buyers market if you compare pre covid prices . the so called sales today are merely bringing g the price down from high retail that was in existence prior to covid
