Another great video! While First Flying Lesson has performed pretty nicely so far, I’m honestly a little disappointed it’s not going for more. The Amazon listing was suppressed for a long time and I think quite a few sellers dumped their stock on eBay instead. I sold my 1st set for $58 in September, but then the price tanked to below $50 for a while. Definitely agree that it’s best to move off underperforming investments sooner rather than later, all about keeping that $ compounding! Take care!

Nice to see a comment from you! On a set like FFL, I'm not sure there's enough ravenous collector demand to push the price up to $100 like on some Star Wars sets. It's also interesting to see almost no delta between ebay and amazon prices on this set, while other sets have hugely different prices.

man that distinction at 4:53 is why I don't get the reselling hate- selling something that's been retired for the rate it's successfully selling for =/ scalping

People have a hard time digesting nuance, especially on the internet. I think those unfamiliar w/ LEGO investing struggle to comprehend it and just equate it with the closest thing they do understand, which is PS5 scalping.

Question for you around target purchasing. You mentioned in the video that you have 54 sets of the James Bond Aston Martin. Did you pick those up in store or order online? I’m curious how you get around the online order limits when target often limits you to two sets. Are you able to make dozens of orders or are you limited to the two sets similar to the restrictions that Lego shop at home has. Thanks!!

It's not an exact science but generally it's best to stagger purchases over several days if possible. I used a mix of online orders and in-store purchases at several different stores.

With FBA you have to factor in more returns since they tend to ship in bags and not boxes, not everybody wants a smashed box.

Thank you for the nice video DG Bricks. How you know wich sets are the most desirable, to make wish lists for investing?

There's about 20 different factors to consider but ultimately it just comes down to supply and demand.

Have you noticed general times of year where Barnes & Noble has Lego sales, besides black Friday?

The charts are from camelcamelcamel which are Amazon prices. I also cite ebay sold prices and sometimes Bricklink

You’re in for a shock if/when you transition to amazon, it’s just such a MONSTER and that combined with Q4 is just crazy, when you see how high stuff is selling and how fast it’s selling you’ll just think to yourself why have you wasted time selling on eBay, just price high and watch the money roll in. 📈

Hah, I'm going from an eBay expert to a total beginner. I've been studying up but I'm sure I'll make mistakes along the way. So scaleable compared to ebay though, so that's the motivation.

When you bundle two sets do you take a little off the price on one or both or neither?
@DGBricksYT7 ай бұрын
It all depends. I usually add the prices and subtract ~5%. People like to feel like they've gotten a deal, even if the difference is small.

Good to know. Thank you. Funny thing is a buyer contacted me yesterday on FB requesting to buy 4 to 5 sets at 20% off. He used eBay as a reference but left out shipping and taxes and damaged boxes. I feel like people try to work on your desperation to sell and try to strong arm you. All the best and thanks for what you do.

@@ericnieves1541 People will always attempt to negotiate and I'm willing to negotiate back to a reasonable degree. The hardest thing with FB Marketplace is just weeding out all the trolls, scams, bots, and lowballers who were never seriously going to buy anyway. Best of luck!

75342 is super overhoarded in Europe, wholesalers have thousands of them, offering for around 40$ and there is no demand. Its probably the most overhyped set from 2023 EOL and it will take time for it to make money from it.

Eu and us market are so different I’m selling them at 45 usd here and I paid 20 each
@DGBricksYT8 ай бұрын
Interesting, in the USA all signs for 75342 are that it's gonna be gold. At some point if this trend continues or widens, it might make sense to import from Europe for sale in the States.

How do you get ungated on Amazon for Lego? Lego are coming down hard on 3rd party sellers there. Idk why they care about us selling retired sets
