For anyone confused, "Apateu" is actually a Korean drinking game, and the name comes from the English word "apartment." The chorus rhythm is the same as the chant in the game where people shout, "apateu apateu, apateu apateu," before starting. So, there’s some clever wordplay with the lyrics "meet me at the apateu (apartment)." The intro is also a reference to the "Random Game," where the loser of the last round picks the next game to play, and in this case, Rosé chose to play "Apateu." I think she was trying to incorporate that fun and wild Korean drinking culture vibe and energy into the song Since there were some people asking about the rule: The way it works is, the leader picks a number, and then everyone stacks their hands in a pile. The person with their hand at the bottom moves it to the top and counts up from 1, all the way to the chosen number. Whoever ends up saying that number has to drink soju as a punishment. You can catch Bruno Mars and Rosé playing the game at 0:49! (although it's not exactly the same as the real game)

This was so GOOD. Unexpected, fresh, but also familiar??? You can clearly hear both Bruno and Rosie's touch and this collab feels so earnest. Simplistic, but fulfilling and the catchy bits were so creative. LOVED!!!

I love how everyone in the comments actually has something to say about why they love this song. Like the musical concepts, the vocals, how well the artists contribute to each other, their chemistry, the energy, the lyrics, the rhythm, the vibes, how happy and passionate the singers are, etc. It's not just fans screaming "AH! @@Akshayaaaaaa A lot of kpop fans, and fans of a lot of modern music these days, can be very shallow because the reasons they are fans of certain idols is really superficial, like how cute/sexy the idol is, rather than how good their music is. This is what I think makes fans of certain idols so toxic - because when their favorite idol gets any kind of legitimate criticism, they'll angrily defend them because they don't want to admit they only liked them for their looks and don't have anything genuine to praise them for. Toxic people don't want to admit that they're wrong. The more an idol's popularity doesn't match their actual musical talent, the more toxic the fans. This is why Rose's fans are generally not toxic. Because there's so much more to her to praise than just how she looks.
