First coined by the Swedish Progressive Metal band Vildhjarta, the meaning of thall was kept very secret for years, and was used as an inside joke to torment members of the djent community. Some speculated it was the name of their debut LP release, but this proved to be incorrect as Vildhjarta put out an album named Masstaden instead. Others speculated it was onomatopoeic, in the same manner as the word "djent"; used to describe the twangy thall sound of Vildhjarta's heavily-distorted extended range guitars. This proved also to be inaccurate. The origins of the word thall were revealed by Calle and Daniel - they were slurring the word Thrull, and after, took it upon themselves to share the hilarious distortion of the word all over the internet. The word's popularity was hugely propagated by their rabid fanbase who would embrace thall and frequently leave comments consisting of just the word alone all over facebook and youtube. I have seen Vildhjarta Back in the day at Euroblast way before they released their debut record. They were pretty much generic Djent before it was released. Saw them again and their sound changed completely. But they handed out stickers with „Thall - powered by Vildhjarta“. And everyone was like „WTF is this?“.

I am a leftie, I learned on a rightie strung rightie but I played it leftie then I learned on a leftiee atrung leftie snd played lefti. So upside down is natural to me. Both ways are easy...lol Some things I can only do upside diwn tho as it makes different sounds due to the different techniques to do bends which I push unless I do a bend crunch where the string is not pushed as a bend upside down but I pull it off the fretboard and it is on the side of it!
