I switch back and forth between Preem ENV lite + Nova Vibrant and GITS Legacy 3.0 depending on my mood and where I am in the game. Nice roundup, always appreciate how your videos give such easy oversight for comparisons.

Realcolor III is my favorite. It has very natural colors while still making the neon lights pop in a way that's really pleasing and sells the cyberpunk vibe while still being realistic.

Excellent comparisons as always. When it comes to lighting I don't look to realism but to art direction and the combo which dominates my game is Nova Lut Legacy + Night City Lights - Autumn Edition. It makes for such a moody Night City!

After all those shorts and videos on ultra realistic path tracing Cyberpunk 2007 on YT, everyone understood that Edge LUT only works when the weather is overcast, to the point that version 2.0 was released with its integrated weather mod 😄. Thanks for the video.

Edge LUT is really just a LUT made to meme on some of those "ultra realistic" videos that constantly showcased nova lut in only overcast weather with a bunch of reshade tweaks, now it can be had without reshade hahaha

NCLM is the best of all of them both gameplay and showcase. I tried all of the lighting mod you mentioned, but the NCLM gave me the best experience and feel of the game. Now you combined this with Reshade then it's money.

NCLM is one of my long standing favorites, especially how it handles npc skin tones, just excellent. Only minor gripe is it oversaturates neon signs and lights, otherwise it's brilliant.

Hey Krush, love your content. It would be awesome to see a top comparison of all of the best *specifically* photorealistic ENV + LUT combos. There are a few different popular LUTs right now that aim to give that natural and photorealistic look, and a lot of people are pairing them either with the ENVs that go with them or with GITSL or GITSF.

Thanks! Glad you like the content! Interesting idea, I've considered doing that for awhile actually but doing a realistic roundup is gonna be tough cos realism is super subjective. For example, the mods that probably get the most "wow it's like real life!" reactions are either edge LUT or a heavily reshaded Nova LUT but the final result, while definitely realistic, is completely not up my alley. That said, the idea is always at the back of my mind so if I feel I can deliver a good video on it, I'll consider doing it in the future for sure.

@@KrushSG True, it's very subjective! It also depends on if you're looking for the blown-out overcast realism look or a more natural realism look that is good in all weathers. I eventually settled on GITS Fuji ENV with Nova Pure but did find that there are some clear winners when it comes to which combinations have a more realistic feel. GITS in general pairs very well with a lot of different LUTs for realism and Nova/Kuria were particularly good imo.

These videos are amazing but BIG BIG RECOMMENDATION is please use a controller and disable motion blur when recording your in-motion scenes, you could even use software to record your movements so they're 1:1 between scenes and can be compared. You can do that on mouse kb too but with a controller you get those "e3 trailer" movements much cleaner. Amazing work, made it a lot less overwhelming picking my mods for my playthrough

You should check out the Emotional Vision LUT next, its really good! It aims to produce some more expressive colors and improve color range.

Realcolorr 3 looks so fantastic without to broke the aesthetics from the vanilla visual style. The Vanilla is already so perfect and it is really hard to improve over the perfect work from the Developers. For my personal preferences need the game only more pop for the neon lighting that can be improve the real Cyberpunk atmosphere. The dirty night in the darkness is already phenomenal and can't be improved. I hope in the future can bring anyone a fog mod tool that bring the feature without the power hungry path tracing.

Realcolorr really does seem to be the most realistic, followed by Ove3rchrome 18 I guess? I tried Nova Pure before, was too magenta for my taste

I think it looks great, only minor issue I have with it is the greens are too green, it makes foliage look a little cartoonish to my eye. This seems to be a common thing among agx luts, the earlier versions of Nova LUT had the same green hue problem too.

Everyone must be having their favorite lighting mods. I personally like the preem lut. Using it currently, with gamma set to 0.85. Since my 4080s only manage 75 fps in pathtracing with ultra plus rtpt, dlss balanced and frame gen on. So I mostly prefer playing at rt ultra with rt lighting set to medium. Dlss balanced frame gen on. I am able to manage 85+ fps avg and it still looks good. Definitely can't compete with pt. But the thing is when I am actually in a game session playing it I am hardly able to notice the difference between rt and pt. It's only when I am standing and looking at a scene and toggle pt from rt i notice the difference. But I can notice the difference between raster only and rt. If I had a 4090 I would have definitely turned pt on whether I notice the difference or not 😂. But for now rt is good and that's what my gpu can handle well at 4k. Plus, the preem luts colors, highlights and shadow roll off are so good. Plus I set the gamma to 0.85 to make it little bright. And with Rt ultra it still looks amazing. The only thing I don't like is the upscaling part. If I go any lower than dlss quality I can notice the oil painting effect. Even on balanced dlss it's noticeable to me. On vanila lighting it's much more noticeable to me. But with preem lut may be the colors and lights tend to play around and that oil painting effect is bit reduced at balanced dlss. Moreover I updated dlss to 3.7 so may be they improved the upscaling a bit (not sure).

You can try supernova 2 next vid, it has a lot of potential to be the best lut and it goes pretty well with most env out there without being out of place.

Nova Lut + GITS + Photorealistic Shader Is the best Photorealistic combination LUT. LUT really change the whole new level of the game make is look so different especially during the night driving through light up areas and driving past neon signs.

Hey Krush, another great video! The music was very fitting for Night City! _(insert vibing cat meme here)_ Ove3rchrome 18 looks really good! I also like NCLM, especially the sky, but dislike what it does to neons & lights, as you do. If only there was something in between Vanilla and NCLM! I know you can combine different LUTs and ENVs but I think the desired balanced look would require further editing. I saw in your other comment that you use your own custom ENV. Would you mind sharing how you did that? Maybe an idea for a future video if it's in-depth. Also, looking forward to the new NOVA LUT 2 Supernova and Pure editions appearing in your future videos! Ah the custom env's i use are really light env's mostly based on the vanilla env cos i really like the vanilla env. I usually just remove the vignette and tweak a the bloom a little cos sometimes vanilla bloom can get overly flashy and blinding.

love your videos and nice to see upgrading your gpu to a 4090. path tracing is really a game changer in this game. keep up your work and a recommendation of mine would be gits legacy with the nova vibrant lut. gits should be higher priority otherwise the colors seem totally off.

I've actually tried that! Yes it looks really good :) and yep path tracing really is a game changer. Hopefully over the next coupla generations mid ranged hardware becomes capable enough to handle it so folks don't have to sell their souls for a GPU, that and I hope more games launch with RT/PT support too.

@@KrushSG absolutely!! additionally, i hope more games work only with ray tracing like metro enhanced edition does (which also is really good optimized). a game build to be played only with ray tracing is so much better compared to most titles where it is, unfortunately, mostly a gimmick.

Thank you for making all these great mod vids. My old I7-7700K & 1080 wasn't going to run this game for $h*t, so I had to wait. I'm now waiting for parts for the new rig, I9-14900K, Asorus Z790 Elite X, 32 G.Skill 8000, MSI 4080 Super Suprim X, Corsair 850x in a Hyte Y70. I wasn't going to even bring up to my non-gaming wife that I need a ~2K 4090, so I hope the new build runs things well. Watching your vids & insight into the mods really helps time-wise in getting the game up and running and looking good. Thanks again, you're work is appreciated by all of us here.

I know you said you didn't want to rank them but seeing as you have tested them all it would be very valuable to hear your opinions on each even if it is subjective. Curious which is your favorite. Also curious which you think is the best in the most lighting conditions. Obviously some will look better in certain weathers etc. And lastly which one do you keep installed currently for your playing?

I've actually discussed this in my various standalone showcases of some of the mods but that's a lot of video to watch so I'll summarize the gist of it. My personal preference leans toward the more realistic and less stylistic/artistic side of things, so my picks for personal use(from the ones featured in this video) would be Nova LUT, Preem LUT, NCLM, Realcolorr and Ove3rchrome 18. It's also hard for me to pick a favorite because I don't actually run many of the mods stock for my personal use, I'm almost always running a custom reshade preset and/or a custom modded env. That said, among those I like Preem LUT the best for a reshadeless setup, followed by Ove3rchrome 18. Nova LUT and Realcolorr absolutely require reshade to my eye, and with reshade I would pick either of these 2 over Preem or Ove3rchrome. Nova needs a little more saturation/vibrance whereas Realcolorr gets most of it right aside from the greens and yellows. Pushing the yellows a little more orange and the greens a little more yellow makes Realcolorr perfect for me. NCLM is a long standing favorite of mine because it gets almost everything right(under almost all conditions) except... neon lights and signs which are completely oversaturated and this unfortunately cannot be fixed by reshade which is why NCLM doesn't rank above the other 4 despite it being so good. For the rest, Edge LUT is way too washed out for my tastes and it chases a very specific/narrow type of realism that dictates perpetually overcast scenarios with zero harsh lighting, it's just not my style. Then again it's also kind of a meme LUT haha. GITS legacy is my top pick for stylized mods because I like the GITS aesthetic, but it's not something I'd run for regular playthroughs, plus the current version of the gits env makes the sky look a little weird. GITS Fuji is in one word, pink. That's all I can say cos that's all I can focus on when using Fuji, everything is pink. Cyberlighting and Ove3rchrome 20 fall into the E3 mod category and I have a hard time placing/rating E3 style mods because I'm not super familiar with and don't really understand the E3 look despite watching the E3 footage countless times. But I can appreciate what these mods are going for nonetheless. As for what I keep installed when just playing for my own enjoyment, it's 2 that actually aren't in this video. Nova LUT Vibrant or Edge LUT Vibrant, with a lightly modded Vanilla Env + a custom Reshade for each of them(an especially heavy reshade for Edge LUT Vibrant). I go back and forth between the 2 cos I like both of them equally.

I've only done a cursory walk about with it so far but I think it looks pretty good, will need to do more testing. At the very least it looks like it will require much less reshade than supernova 1, maybe none, to get it to where I like it.

I use an LG IPS screen for most of my game capturing, the LG 32GP850B, it's a 1440p monitor but I use super resolution to render at 4K for capturing in 16:9. My main gaming/productivity screen is actually a 40" Prismplus ultrawide, the PG400U Pro. I do sometimes hook my pc up to my LG C3 OLED TV just for fun and I am seriously considering getting the 42" version of the C3 for a monitor down the road, I really like the C3.

I still find it hard to understand what things are compatible with what and what they do, I mean i know what LUTs are, but the whole thing about env files i'm still not sure what exactly they do, i know it has something to do with lighting and weather and local graphics settings depending on sitaution in the games but not really how it works, I took out the relight related .xl files from one of the gits downloads and the ini string that disables RIS, but i'm not certain if it did really turned on since it's hard to immediatly notice the difference... i'm not sure how to verify that it is really doing anything what is this kind english accent? danish or south african or something else?

I tried most of these and i think i prefer vanilla with vignette effects removed. I use path tracing +hdr and most of the mods make all the lights lose their brightness. Out of the mods i would say realcolor and nclm look best, do either of those two supporr hdr?

Check out the new Emotional Vision mod if you like vanilla, I am prepping to do a showcase on it soon and I'm really impressed so far. It's probably the best in the "vanilla-fixing" category I have tried to date. It's a tiny bit heavy on the aqua but otherwise I think it's excellent. The full mod doesn't completely remove the vignette but it tones it down significantly to where I personally don't feel the need to run a vignette removal. As for HDR, unfortunately I dont have a HDR monitor so I'm not sure if those support HDR.
