Eau Sauvage properly at #1. Steve McQueen's favorite scent. First perfume to use Hedione at high concentrations. Solid list.

Eau Sauvage was the best smelling mens fragrance ever, until Francois Demachy over at Christian Dior completely destroyed it by reformulating it back in 2010 not even a shadow of its former self and doesn't last more than 30 minutes,if it ain't broken don't fix it!!!

Great video, Stuart. I'm right there with you on this, even though I started fragrances in the early 80's, I still lean toward more modern, sweet scents. I've got Eau Sauvage in my cart, hopefully I pick it up before the New Year. SOTD: Mercedes Benz Select Night - TF Noir Extreme DNA. BTW +1 in the compliment column. 🎉

Issey Miyake Intense was a sleeper fragrance for me. It lay there for a LONG time and then I found myself reaching for it day after day, very underrated. Enjoyed this list but for me Chanel Platinum Egoiste is #1!

Eau de Sauvage is a classic but it's also modern. Even guys in their 20's can easily pull this off. If I had to pick one frag for the rest of my life it would be this one or one of its flankers. Amazing.

Yeah! Get that Lagerfeld Classic! That's the one that actually started me getting into fragrances this past June. I'm still new at it but I'm kind of stricken at how little it's talked about because it is QUITE nice imo

I would like to add these old school fragrances to your list. Polo ( now known as Polo Green), Drakkar Noir, Quorum and Aramis to the list. These fragrances are unapologetically masculine.

I don’t understand the lack of anything from Royall. Yes they are colognes, but they are better performing than many other scents. Mandarin, lime, and bay rum are all first rate. And Jo Malone lime, mandarin and especially grapefruit scents are great choices for us mature guys. Maybe they won’t appeal to everyone, but I highly suggest that people at least sample them.

hi. i live in ukraine and i am 42 now. so i recently decided that i want to buy those perfumes that i remember from my childhood. what i used and what i could take from my dad's shelf. i have already bought several and it is incredibly wonderful. the aromas take you away like a time machine. probably in the ussr they didn't use exactly what you have. that's why i wanted to know if you know these examples and maybe you have something to tell and you will one day make a selection about what i mean. Oh yeah, I have mentioned both Aramis and Jovan Musk on the channel before. I have about 25 fragrances from the 60s, 70s and 80s. I know what you mean when you say they take you away.

Cool video. For casual summer fragrance PDM Sedley is great. And for winter, dior Elixir or PDM Carlisle. I LOVE pdm carlisle. BY THE WAY, is the thumbnail photo Sharon stone from casino? Crazy look a like if not

Thank you for the kind words. No, it's not Sharon Stone actually but I loved Casino and I can see why you thought that. It's from a brilliant photographer named Myicahel Tamburini who I found online. I'm not sure who the model is.

So it's nice to see videos dedicated to a more masculine style. Dior homme sport 2021 is a fantastic choice. It's modern and classic at the same time.

The bigger issue with fragrances are Gen Z. They love their gourmands. I do like the fact that they wear Fragrances more than older generations but their tastes are very sweet.

Karl Lagerfeld - Lagerfeld Classic, my bottle won't even get placed to the dreaded "under the sink" garbage spray. If you like cat piss, then this is your scent !

Yeah, I understand that. I hated it until a lot of the older guys kept talking about it and then I tried it again and got used to it. It's not for everyone, but I'm okay with it now.
