Nice list. I associate the designation "Masterpiece" fragrances that are generally acknowledged to be of high artistic merit and have withstood the "test of time" to some degree. I see the designations of "classic" and "masterpiece" as being somewhat different. Paco Rabanne One Million may one day be a classic, but probably never a masterpiece. Most of my Designated masterpieces are historical. Chanel Pour Monsieur, Guerlain Vetiver, Dior Eau Sauvage EDT, Hermès Equipage, Ralph Lauren Polo, Creed Green Irish Tweed, Creed Bois du Portugal, Dior Farenheit, maybe Guerlain Heritage, maybe Acqua di Gio. And more modern ones like Terre d'Hermes, Creed Aventus, maybe Bleu de Chanel.

Maison Francis Kurkdjian's Baccarat Rouge 540 Extrait is the only fragrance so far, that I have smelled, that I consider a masterpiece. I mean, WOW, it is so good! Nothing I have smelled invokes such pleasure as this fragrance does. I'm gonna have to check out some of these in this video. Perhaps I will agree with some of the as being a masterpiece fragrance.

I had 40 Knots but sold it, just wasn’t for me. Changes over time on skin so much. I actually have most of the fragrances he’s mentioned and they’re all grabbers when you want to stand out.

When I first got 40 Knots, I was so disappointed. It was a blind buy and buying Halloween man X for 23 bucks, smelling it, and throwing it in the woods behind my house…..no big deal. But 40 Knots 255 bucks. But then I wore it again. And again. And now I’m hooked. Very subtle, yet complex. Performs and lasts all day and night. Great stuff.

I disagree. The florals completely separate RM from JPG. There is a slight similarity in the beginning but they go separate ways. RM is such a sophisticated composition that I have yet to smell anywhere else. If you want to compare JPG to something compare it to Perry Ellis white or English Laundry Arrogant (fantastic IMO). Those are closer in DNA to JPG.
