Great video! As a hairstylist I’d love to add; also going way to light with hair color. Going too light can wash a woman out and age her. Blondes look much more youthful with a rooted look and dimension. No matter what color a woman is in later years she needs dimension in her shade ( flat colors age). The tone is also a factor! A tool cool toned blonde or brunette can wash out mature skin, warmer tones are more flattering. I can no longer wear the cool toned highlights That used to flatter my cool toned complexion, going a bit warmer or neutral is best for a youthful look. Getting in a rut of wearing your high school haircut can age you like fire. Have you ever seen a woman with a facelift still wearing their hair in a dated haircut? It’s not pretty.

SUPER EASY brow dying hack: I dye my own brows using a men’s beard dye from the drugstore. It comes in a box called “just for men” here in the states. It’s only a little tube of dye gel - no mixing - and I apply it with a slanted eyeliner brush and it doesnt drip or run and very inexpensive
@giulitorelli3 жыл бұрын
I do that for eyebrows and quick hair root fix!🤗
@queens65833 жыл бұрын
Yup! I use it too and easy peasy to use.
@alicebailey53263 жыл бұрын
I do that too! Just For Men in the UK too. I use an angled brush & spoolie combo from Eyelure to put it on and do two, shorter, applications of it (rather than one for the full time) to really capture all the small hairs. So much cheaper than the Eyelure brow dye and 100 x cheaper than a salon tint! Lasts really well too

Wow Nadine- I really really loved this !! Eyebrows are the bane of my life. I’m naturally white blond and getting my white eyebrows tinted has been disastrous- always the salons do them too dark - not their fault Mayb cos I can’t manage to get them right either, especially as I get older. Yes - do a video please !

Nadine, I definitely think you should try to tint your brows 😍 I haven't used the Ardell one, but have been using my Wella Koleston Perfect salon series colors to tint mine. I know they say not to, but I've been doing it for the last 20 years and haven't experienced any negative effects. One just needs to be careful to apply the color carfeully. My brows are a little lighter than I want, so I use the ashy blonde color to darken them ever so slightly to a greyish dark blonde. Please bear in mind that I've been using these professional colors for years and am aware of the color wheel, so I have a collection of colors like 12/81, 12/96, 0/11, 0/88 and a few more. So, for anyone reading out there, make sure you have a backup plan in case you are attempting this for the very first time. Which means, if you go lighter than you want, you need to have a darker/ashy tone to re-apply if you want to darken your brows. If you go darker than you intended, then you need to be able to lighten and tone your brows again. It is not that complicated once you get a hang of it, especially if you color your own hair, it is pretty simple really. Brows look better when they are your shadow root color or one to two tones darker than your block color.

So refreshing to listen to a no nonsense video. I'm 62 but am lucky that I've got good skin and there's still plenty of collagen to give me firmness. However, my eyebrows are beginning to lose definition so I'm taking on board all your advice. Thank you from a new subscriber.

Loved your tip about the hyaluronic acid around the eyes before applying concealer. Fantastic tip! I know a lot about beauty but had never heard about that. Will buy the Vichy one you were demonstrating. I've always tried to be careful about applying concealer around the eye area but it still seems to collect because of the crepiness there even though I use eye cream morning and nights and have done for years. Thank you for all your tips and advice Nadine. You're the best!

Great tips Nadine, thanks. Go on give it a go, tint your brows, will save you heaps of time and money. I've used lots of different types over the years and my brows are very dark naturally even though I'm 60. Use a barrier below and above and an angled brush, easier than doing eyelashes. The Tweezerman mirror is great, good for holidays.

100% do the brow dye! Ive got naturally blonde/invisible brows and do mine myself every month. Used loads of different types over the years - tend to go for blonde/light brown but super easy, natural and last just as long as professional tints. Someone else has commented above, and I have too, that we both use the Just For Men beard tint kit on our brows. As good if not better results than Eyelure, half the price, bigger shade range and twice as much in the tube! Learnt about it a few years ago and haven't looked back. Always tint my brows with that now :)

Tinting my naturally blonde eyebrows black (using 1000 hours brow + lash tint in Natural Black) changed the game for me! I wish I had started doing it years ago as brows really frame the face. It's so easy, Nadine. Just apply a good amount of vaseline around the brows to avoid dying the skin around them, and keep a course old face halo handy as it can scrub off any stray dye too.

I use my hair dye and use a slant angle eyeliner brush to do eyebrows, I’m 55 and they’re still fairly thick, I hope I don’t end up like those old men with the wild man wizard like Dennis Healey! RapidLash really works, it takes a while but mine are def longer, not really thicker, but I’d recommend it. The tiny amount of brow dye almost costs what a box of whole head hair dye is, so it’s a rip off, I always do my roots and brows at the same time, every two weeks
