Hello Jeff, It all depends on your goal. If you want a full depth structural repair on a slab on grade, Concrete Mender will do the trick. Just be careful if you are over occupied space. This product can flow through the slab and possibly damage items on the floor below like a car or equipment.

Your product looks amazing. I am a very resourceful gal and I was looking for a way to fix some cracks in my aggregate driveway and the utube video was very clear and to the point. I have a question....after you fill the cracks can you acid etch over this product. I was planning on ordering the 10 min repair and then color my driveway in a deep charcoal, will the acid color cover or blend or will it stand out and look like you patched the crack? This product was tried after the Christchurch earthquakes, (which continued for about 2 years). No one uses it now as the 10 minutes refers to the length of time the repair lasts. True epoxies will do the job.

To Aussie eightythree....to answer your question you will need to grind the surface first, if crack elevation is 1/2" higher or more yu wil need to cut lines in the concrete and chisel it out, then grind flush...

Seems like a good product, but I would like to see the use of the silica sand or another product that will blend with the color of the concrete. Your product repairs the crack but is just as visible, maybe even more so. Do you have color "sand" that will blend better?

Hi, can this stuff be painted over with sealant.? I have a stamped driveway, and therefore it is not flat like the concrete in your video. It's very uneven, as it supposed to look like a rock. Would this product be suitable, as if I used it I would need to somehow even it out, and repaint over it?

What grade of silica sand do you suggest using? I work at a silica sand plant so I have access to coarse 12/20 down to fine 40/70

Both will work. The finer sand will give you a finer finish. Just make sure the sand is fully saturated.

You seem geared toward commercial/industrial uses, but do you have products in small enough quantities that it could be used for several driveway cracks? A couple are control cracks that need refilled and others just 1/4 - 1/2 wide cracks each a couple feet long.

Good question. The purpose of this application is to make the floor smooth again and prevent further damage from hard wheeled traffic like shopping carts or pallet jacks. 10 Minute Concrete Mender is an effective water stopping repair, but it was not designed for that purpose. We do not recommend the product for residential basements for example. Concrete Mender is a structural polyurethane. It makes a very tough repair that will handle industrial loads and traffic without becoming brittle like most epoxies. Concrete Mender moves with the concrete, not against it. those are control cracks, don't fill them with this, Volcum is a flexable product that will fill the crack and prevent grass and weeds, grass andweed killer will work for several months.

Most driveways have too much movement for a repair of this type. A more flexible repair would be better. It is always a good idea to clean and prep repair areas first no matter what type of repair you choose.

First you need to kill(neutralize)the suction before you can prime/bond. Straight sand/cement won't work. You could try SBR Admix but there's a UV problem with it too. - Then clean your teeth with a hard toothbrush and go and get very drunk. I should know I'm Irish. :-)

Nice video! ...I have a tiling question. It appears that our concrete slab was poured in sections. There is a very straight (appears intentional) crack about 1/4 inch wide that runs along the exterior wall of the room we are tiling, about 3 inches from the wall. We're trying to decide the best route to tiling the room. The options I have seen are repairing the concrete, laying a thin membrane over the crack with thin set, and then also the more expensive option of an uncoupling membrane for the whole room. Do you have an opinion on the best option? Thanks!

Hello, That crack parallel to the wall could be there for a number of reasons. Most likely, that is where the foundation blocks end and the floor starts. It could be a variation in the thickness of the concrete depending of the design of the floor. In my opinion, the cracking was probably caused by shrinkage during curing and the cracks should be fairly stable by now. A filler or repair should be stable enough to support your tile. Especially if the room is climate controlled and the concrete is over one year old. Kelton at Roadware.

Yes, and the white comes from the hand finishing of the material with the rubbing stone. You can also you a grinder with a flap abrasive disk. Use darker sand or colored quartz to make many different colors.

No epoxy will hold two slabs together when they want to move. Best to use a semi-pliable material that will flex.

Hello, The Concrete Mender is about as hard as the surrounding concrete. We have a another product called Flexible Cement II for semi flexible applications. For high movement areas like a sidewalk or driveway, I would recommend a caulk like material.

We recommend a clean, dry and uniform sand without much dust like silica sand or manufactured quartz. Play sand will work if you dry it and screen out the dust. Make sure you use enough Concrete Mender to completely saturate the sand and the surrounding concrete.

Using cement based products for crack repair has not been a long lasting solution. The cement materials do not bond well enough and will not have enough mass to stay intact. Cement based materials typically fall apart in chucks in several week to several months depending on traffic and conditions. There is more to it, but this is the simple answer.

I think you are referring to the manufactured sand. It is sometimes called quartz sand or silica sand. Most any sand used for sandblasting will work. The color of the sand will affect the finish color. 4030 grit works well. Finer sad will give you a finer finish.
