1. Use Rhythmic Variation Syncopation: Introduce off- beats rhythms to create a more dynamic feel. 2. Explore different voicings Inversions: Use chord inversions to create smoother transitions and varied bass lines. 3. Implement Counterpoint Write a melody in the bass that interacts with the right.

Thanks for your videos - been playing guitar for many years and thought I’d pick up bass super easy but there’s much more to it! Slow progress but having fun - just can’t stop hitting unwanted strings

Great. Basically root, fifth above and below, octave. Simple but effective. Bass does not have to be complex and often better simple.

Another fantastic lesson Mark! Amazing what you can do with just the root and 5th. So many options with just two notes. Wonderfully taught as always. Thanks for sharing.

Well explained. When I've jammed with people for the first time, not knowing what they want, how they play and what the feel is, always stick to the root and fifth until you get better acquainted 😁

Thank you for your guidance. Your sir Duke tutorial is a game changer. Sight reading is not my strong point. The intimidation begins when I see the key signature. Also, I often find myself in hunt and peck mode. Can you help us?

One of these days, can you show us a very difficult music? One I've aways have trouble playing is "Colorado Bulldog" from Mr.Big.
@talkingbasslessons14 күн бұрын
@@JacksonLambProSpook Difficult is a relative term. All depends on your level. I’ve already covered a ton of stuff that people seem to usually think of as ‘difficult’. Just look back through the vids on the channel. There are a load of Les Claypool, Victor Wooten, Billy Sheehan, Stu Hamm and Jaco bass lines. But like I said those lines (including Colorado Bulldog) are only difficult if you can’t do them. By the same token I could give a supposedly simple bass line written out in standard notation to Billy Sheehan and he would be stumped. He couldn’t play it. Like I said. It’s all relative. Different people find different things difficult!

What do you get when you drop a piano down a mine shaft? A flat minor. (Miner).😅
