Very refreshing to me to run across a prepping video that isn't AI generated, almost demanding we get what they tell us. Thank you for a real life video that makes sense. Best of luck to you.

This is a great one! As with so many other topics: take enough time to define the problem before you start 'doing'. Thanks!

"Mistake #3" can actually give you a back-stash of items you can give to less prepared friends or neighbors in time of need. Sometimes emergencies happen in daily life and it might be good to have a way to help someone that doesn't break your bank. Especially when you think of dollar store items like bandaids, roller gauze, compression bandages (think ACE bandages) and other first aid items that have wide application. Another example is buying gloves, mittens, knit hats, and socks at the dollar store. I carry those items in a search and rescue context to give to lost subjects when they are found to help keep them warm during rescue. These "cheap" items are not really meant for long-term use but to get someone through a brief emergency. While that "someone" may be you, it never hurts to be able to help another person too.

Michael that is an excellent point. I like the idea of getting little emergency packs put together for others. Thank you for the suggestion. I LOVE this community.

Excellent list and spot on. I think many people make the same mistakes from not thinking it through and being honest with themselves. Number 6 and 9 are very important, in my opinion. If you first don’t sit down and make a realistic assessment of what the likely disasters you may face for where you live, you’re just “spinning your wheels”, lol. Finally, “analysis paralysis” happens to the best of us. Well done!

Agree! But we can prepare for the things we think are most likely. AND if we break it down to food, water, health, shelter, & security it gives us a good foundation for MOST emergencies. Thanks for watching!
