Fishing bait PSA - There is currently a glitch where all bait will disappear if you quit out of the game while it is equipped. Toss that bait into a chest before ending the game for the day.

my biggest mistake is forgetting about festivals because I think 'oh i'll just do this thing quickly before i attend the festival' and then i get distracted and suddenly the festival is over :') i think i missed two festivals like this in my first year

I think one of my biggest mistakes was trying to get everything done as fast as possible. I was starting to feel burned out and running out of things to do. Remembering there's no time limit and taking my time to just enjoy this beautiful game now.

I love this!! Thank you so much for sharing One of my favourite things about this game is how you really can take things at your own pace - I have to constantly remind myself, I'M the one putting the pressure on myself to complete things - not the game!!

That has always been my problem with these types of games ever since the Harvest Moon era... it's a game genre to RELAX and enjoy your time, and even so if I didn't do 58454 things a day, I feel like wasting progress, and that takes my relaxation away... I'm just now trying my best to just not rush things, to do specific things for each day and once finished I can just roam around talking to people or just go to sleep early, and it's so much better. There's no need to do everything by the first year...

I use the Violets as food for the mines when I found out that the 3 people I gave them too didn't like it.

Ok it’s not really a mistake but I recently just found out that you don’t actually need trash to make composts. 😂 Any organic things can be turned into composts, like seaweeds, flowers, sea salts, or even insects. Save your trashes for scraps.

This game needs some kind of end-game money sink. After a while farming and tending livestock, money is no longer a problem and there is nothing in the game so far to spend it meaningfully, other than the very expensive furniture items. The furniture doesn't add anything to the game other than to look pretty.

Yeah I get your point... but also, this isn't a game about infinite/huge progress, it's not like you could/should buy other farms to make a franchise out of them... you came from the big city to enjoy a peaceful life in the countryside, those games were always about that, you don't need to spend all your millions of coins by the end

I wish the silver kelp would be still this cheap at the lab. But, they changed it to 1,500 for one piece. Making a sprinkler that way isn't affordable

Definitely look for silver kelp in dig spots on the beach and by opening coffers! This is the best way to get it in early game. Silver kelp is super abundant once you unlock the deeper ocean so I wouldn’t recommend buying any! Just gold kelp right now!

I haven't really made any 'mistakes' per say, but the only time I made a 'gamble' was for the Cherry Blossom Festival in donating a silver quality lettuce *and the gamble worked*. One of your tips that did help me though was to save my wild seeds because I did plant several early on (and that's how I got that lettuce so I don't regret planting them from the start) but now I plan on saving them for when winter comes around. A few questions for you though Sarah. I just got the ability to make my own hive so I can get honey now. If you put a flower in there, you can just leave it in there and it'll never vanish right? Does the quality of the flower affect the honey quality because I've been saving the few bronze and silver quality flowers I've gotten for that reason and I am guessing the flowers that sell for more are the better flowers to use for the hives. On a separate note, I got a new free outfit when donating to the museum. I put that one on, but now I don't know where to put it, other than one of my chests that I use for storage. I thought with my first house upgrade, one of the furniture pieces I got was a closet, but it doesn't seem to be the case since I couldn't put my old outfit in there. Anyway, I am enjoying the game overall, even with the technical issues it has while in early access.

Thank you so much for sharing all of this! You can put any flower in the bee houses and they will stay there until they have turned into honey! The quality of the flower impacts the quality of the honey. You can mix and match the quality and flower types in the same house. I would definitely recommend using higher value flowers to make it worth it, like you said! You should be able to use the starter wardrobe to store clothes, but if it's not working for some reason, I purchased the "Basic Cabinet" at the furniture store and it worked for me. Right now this is the only furniture item it works with, but in the future it will be all wardrobes! Hope this helps!

The skill level is capped at 5 right now! You’ll be able to level up more after a future update

THIS. I’m so BROKE. I tend to always save everything anyways when playing this type of game but there’s usually atleast a couple things I feel safe selling, but in this game it feels like everything is needed for something.

I sold whatever I was growing early in the game and once I saved enough for a coop, I had sold the eggs until I was able to make mayonnaise and made more money from selling that. Did the same with cows and sheep.

@@JubjubbimmieThis is a game where you have to spend money to make money. I bought seed from Sam…about eight seeds for each crop and used fertilizer to upgrade their quality. I would sell them and make some decent scratch and save up for a barn and a chicken coop. You could also use wild seeds you find in the area, but it is better to save them for the Winter.
