These are great theoretical suggestions, some of which, unfortunately, do not work well with the practicalities of Indian traffic. E.g., if you allow for the time to press the clutch, put 1st gear, and then move in tight traffic, be very sure that at least 2-3 bikers will fill that gap in front of your vehicle and won't let you move AT ALL. Another problem is with the upslope traffic. To push the car without falling back, the clutch's biting point needs to be reached with the footbrake on -- how otherwise will you do it? The handbrake method is too digressing and problematic.

Use handbrake, put in 1st gear, give some acceleration by releasing 30% clutch and release hand brake... Vehicle will move forward instead of going back on a slope

The thing I do is: Keep my right foot on brake, clutch pressed and 1st gear engaged. When traffic move little bit. Releasing clutch slowly as usual and as it reaches bitting point, release brake and press accelerator a slightly more than usual. The other method is also convenient, PB@India mentioned here. What I follow or experienced is, keep ur vehicle on first gear, one foot on clutch and another on break. Release clutch slowly till car starts vibrating, and then slowly release break but not fully and u will notice ur car will move without giving race. If traffic is cleared then use race.

I have one question on bumper to bumper slow moving traffic with the use of clutch and brake only (No accelerator). When the traffic moves very slowly at a snail's pace, can I operate the clutch up and down without brake ? Ofcourse in case the of front vehicle stoppage , I have to press clutch and brake to stop my car. Can I practice this up and down movement of clutch without brake at a very slow speed on a open space? Will it hurt the clutch? My question is related to bumper to bumper traffic only.

Yes, you can do that, it won't hamper clutch. But if you hold your clutch in bitting point it will damage. I would say that's the good practise to release and press the clutch completely in bumper to bumper traffic as you explained.

If the road is straight or sloping down you can do that. But if road is sloping up like climbing a bridge then it may overload and stall the engine. in that case engine needs to be raised slightly.

Nahi, down wali jagah me ya slope wali jagah mein clutch press karne se neutral ki tarah behave karegi car jisse speed badh jaati hai, car ko gear me rakhna sahi rahega mostly 2nd gear agar jyada turn ya narrow jagah hai to1st gear. Gear me karke jaise hi aap clutch ko pura release kar denge apki car ek hi speed me chalegi apko accelerator ki need nahi hogi jab tak aap speed increase na karna chahe. Dhyan rahe, agar control mein na lage to brake press karke clutch press karle, car ko stop karle. All the best 👍

Yes Sir, Actually this is the best to get control on uphill. Hill climb assist, this is one of the feature modern cars has. It works like we do in normal car, keeping clutch till bitting point and then releasing brake with instant acceleration. The feature allows braking for 3 seconds untill you release brakes and apply acceleration.
