Amazing! We never sent either of our dogs to formal training either, we’ve always trained them ourselves. Definitely loved the bonus at the end! Do you think Milo’s color faded as he got older?

Yes! His coat has gotten a lot lighter since he first came home. He was a pretty dark apricot (almost brownish) but now much lighter with a lot of blonds too. Has Theo’s coat changed too?

@@DoodleDude I don't really think so. He was pretty much the same color when we brought him home as he is now. Has Milo shedded his puppy coat yet? Theo is definitely very curly now, so I'm thinking he already shedded his. When he was 5-ish months if you were wearing dark clothes you could see his hair on it (even though that would be kind of early, but he doesn't shed now).

Milo doesn’t shed at all but after his first professional groom most of his wavy puppy coat was gone 😭. His new coat is growing out much more curly too. He just recently got his second professional groom and I think he’s getting curlier than after the first

What training methodology did you use? Did you follow Zak's videos or someone else's?

Yes, we watched a lot of Zak's videos and Rachel Fusaro when we first got started! But after awhile we got a hang of what works particularly well for Milo and don't always follow their training guides to a t 🙂

Do you spend a certain amount of time a day training? I never know if I’m doing enough (10 week old goldendoodle)

When Milo was younger we dedicated at least an hour each day to teach him all the basic commands and did a lot of obedience training. This kept him busy/tired him out which kept him from getting into bad behavior like chewing because of boredom. Now we just reinforce these commands daily and try to teach him a new trick whenever we have time. I think there’s always more we can do with him but it’s also about finding a good balance so that training sessions are fun and don’t feel like “work” 🙂
