The reason your tank looks so good as a result of not doing a water change is a bulid up of nutrients. There still look very bleached out. I would keep your water changes every week. You want all the trace elements. I don't know why every one hates doing water changes but love dosing there tank with stuff there tank doesn't need yet.Your weekly water change is dosing your tank with calcium DKH Magnesium and trace elements your not doing it to keep your salinity where it should be. Keep the weekly water changes up and double what you are feeding your tank each week for 3 weeks and see how those torches look then. I am sure you will be happy. Get those No3 to like 20 at least 15 and you will see some colors. Keep up your channel can't wait to see your tank hit that year milestone!! It's coming soon right?

If only we can hold the tank in the good stages, but they are few and far between 😂. Only thing better to dose than Eco Balance is that Reef Zlements Amino Acid. Would work a dream on your softies and LPS, you would be upgrading to a bigger tank in a month 😂🤣. Hopefully at the year mark I can start to think about fragging - exciting times. Looking forward to our Friday night livestream.

Hi Jay .. why have you changed from dosing Red Sea AB+ to Reef zlements ?
@jaysrealreefuk3 жыл бұрын
Good question. After I damaged my torch coral, Northern Reefer on Instagram recommended it to me for the recovery, growth and bring back the colour. It not only just worked on my torches, but all the other corals thrived too. I can't recommend it enough. Give it a go, I'm sure you wouldn't be disappointed, I'm not sponsored in anyway. AB+ looks good adding it to the tank, but didn't really notice any difference to the corals. Hope that helps. Thank you for watching and commenting. I do really appreciate it. 😊

Your tank looked so well, and the lion fish was unreal. Hope you come back in again. Thanks for watching and commenting - I do appreciate it.
@DadHD3 жыл бұрын
Vibrant still has its place I won’t be sticking it in the bin but I definitely think there are things it doesn’t stop and kills all it’s competitors and it takes over. Less than a minute after you said that I’ve got a reading of 11.2 on my alk! 🤦♂️ That said it’s not the usual time of day I measure so will check again this evening but the tank is not happy! Oh and my sweet, innocent little lion fish are my Goby last week. The pistol shrimp has moved house due to bad memories and keeps picking fights with the lion. My guess is he’s suicidal after losing his mate and feels he has nothing left to lose!
@jaysrealreefuk3 жыл бұрын
@@DadHD Bloody hell! He did appear quite violent 🤣. Savage. Poor little goby, wrong place wrong time there. My goby and shrimp were sperated when I removed the aquascape to get the nem out. Hey man, so I just upgraded to the Radion XR-15 for my Red Sea max nano too and was curious where you keep your intensity. Have a very pack mixed reef situation. Have the Red Sea light at 77% blue and 10% white and trying to figure out about what that converts to for the switch.
@jaysrealreefuk3 жыл бұрын
The Radion XR 15 blue is a brilliant light for coral growth, but very intense for the red sea max nano. I run the soft and LPS template, then I clicked the edit button in the centre dial, where you can adjust the sunrise and sunset time. My ramping up and down intensity is 40% and the peak intensity in the centre (most of the time) sits at 45%. I have a few SPS on the top of the scape that happy and nice colours, whilst the rest of the reef predominant softies and LPS are thriving. That's what I have found best. You could still have a play around with it, but I probably wouldn't go any higher than 50% intensity as the water isn't very deep. If would probably stress.your LPS. Hope that helps mate, let me know how you get on . I've adjusted mine for 8 months, but this is what works best for my mixed reef. Thank you for following and commenting -. I appreciate it 😊
