I love the reviews, but who on earth is spending $230 on a single backpack... I travel nearly 200 days a year and I won't even spend more than $110 on a backpack... I have been trying to find some good reviews of backpacks regular folks are using, but instead I keep coming across all these reviews of backpacks $200-$300... there's so many lower cost options on the market because those are the bags more people are looking for... I"m not complaining... I do love these reviews... and you all get a thumbs up...

The current edc champ for me is the Katara 16 by Vanquest. I got it in black camo which teeters a bit over that “tacticool” line which I’m not normally a fan of but that bag is super comfy with tons of organization pockets and it converts to a sling as well. If they ever make a larger version of it I’ll snag it in a heartbeat.

I really love having a dedicated water bottle compartment that is situated in the middle of the backpack for a better distribution of weight on my back.

Is there a backpack that has the modularity of a tactical backpack but doesn't look like I'm going to war?? It would be nice to have bags for edc with things like molle webbing inside it and not made of the three primary colors tan, OD or black. Like for the office a leather man bag with molle webbing inside so i can attach my ready kits and bits,, multitool etc hidden inside it or a normal, let's say blue gym bag where the front zipper opens the front flap to reveal a compartment with webbing in it. Does anyone know if it exists? Tactical bags are awesome but walking around the city carrying even a modest one doesn't exactly make you fit in and can make you a target if something does go wrong. Tactical camo bags aren't exactly good camo in urban environments.

I’ve been using the Nomatic travel pack and Mystery Ranch UA21. Nomatic is good for travel, business, etc while the UA is better for gym, personal devices and the outdoors. I have the UA21 in Lizard and it fits a ton. I can fit my small PD packing cube, nomatic toiletry, peak design tech kit. Tight fit but works. Can fit same in the nomatic (not expanded mode) with a tad more space on front panel and of course has a water bottle holder. I found the nomatic perfect to walk into a c level meeting once you hide the straps and go briefcase mode. Not so much with the UA21.
