Thanks! A lot of KZbinrs try to cater their content to children but I very quickly realised that the average age of 7DTD players is much higher than most games in the survival genre. Those creators are just wasting their time and hurting their voices because kids just don't play this game. According to youtubes analytics, not one of the 30k views I have was from someone under the age of 18 (some people lie obviously but still) That age range is likely why some of the most successful 7DTD KZbinrs like Glock9 and Cap00 are just middleaged dudes chilling out having fun playing the game not being overdramatic or obviously fake enthusiastic. But hey, those fake enthusiastic creators out there seem to be finding success nonetheless. So what do I know?

@MrAllekzander3 жыл бұрын
I've been known to ride the bike to a new city, then put down the 4x4 as a hub to loot a few blocks in one trip. Use the bike between the individual POIs, then toss it in the trunk for the drive home. Also as mentioned, it's an absolute boon if you've decided to relocate home base.

I've done that too, works really well. It's also pretty good with the gyrocopter (although you need to spend more time choosing your loot stacks to fit it all in the gyro when done).

something to add to your number 1 is doing the opposite of looting high level POIs early game is: BOOKS. these POIs like the chapel, mansion with library attic, Crack A Book POIs, etc. normally are tier II or higher missions. If lucky enough to spot one while travelling, highly suggest to loot while the game isn't spawning ferals or irradiateds.

While getting gear is cool and all from the smaller houses I will say that I do like to go into the T5s early on just to crank out xp and level up. Loot is usually a secondary objective when I go into a T5.
@grimace39833 жыл бұрын
8:57 they could easily solve this issue of tier five uselessness by having tiers for chests. for example, a tier one poi like a destroyed house would have a tier one chest, which would have loot that is appropriate to early game items, while a tier five factory would have a tier five chest with endgame items. you could then mix that with the normal gamestage to get this risk vs reward. early game, you'd be likely only to get low tier stuff out of high tier chest (gamestage) but it wouldn't be completely impossible (high tier chest) like it is now. that would also make players want to loot a few high tier pois for those better chests instead of a bunch of low tier houses to get endgame loot since a bunch of small things is easier to handle instead of one big thing and currently you get effectively the same stuff regardless of pois or chests.

Tip #2 is more personal preference than universal tip. You can't ride your vehicle while looting a PoI, and I often find both my vehicle and my inventory completely full. Also, it takes a while to find all the pocket mods, and I'm not willing to wait until mid-game to get relief from encumbrance.
@IzPrebuilt3 жыл бұрын
Well that's certainly fair, I disagree but that's fair. That said though I would still rather burn though steroids than use 5 skill points on Pack mule.
@attackanddestroy3 жыл бұрын
Waiting until your game stage is a bit higher before looting boxes or weapons bags can be helpful. You can craft a blunderbuss early enough so just wait a bit before cracking into some of the loot containers. Fetch quests can be done very quickly early on which is why you may want to take them. Completing as many tier 1 quest as you can as fast as you can will get you into tier 2 quests and open up a second trader location giving you a better chance of getting an early firearm. Plus, the rewards you get from the trader are often more important than the dukes you get (like ammo or pipe bombs) so don't be too caught up on reward dukes. I can't stress enough how getting a forge early can make your early game easier. Making your own iron arrows and a baseball bat makes clearing building a lot easier early on.
@jiowyhn3 жыл бұрын
Interesting points. However I have no problems filling my inventory and that of the 4x4, I play from an roleplay approach (which has nothing to with RPG game mechanics) its just I view some of many game play via an internal story line. So for me gathering resources from an RP perspective fills up the inventory fast. Well that and mods that add more loot items that I use.

The Fetch quests will give you more dollars per minute, though. I have completed some fetch quests in less than 30 seconds, and most can be done in under 2 minutes. Just walk around the building using the compass to narrow down the location of the satchel. Then, break down the wall and grab the satchel and run. You often don't have to kill any zombies, if you're quiet. However, the real value of quests doesn't come from the dukes you earn. Loot the PoI before triggering the quest, then loot it again after starting the quest, since starting the quest refreshes the PoI. You get double the loot, and this works on both Fetch and Clear quests.
@IzPrebuilt3 жыл бұрын
As I said in the video, if you're going to do a fetch quest, just go for the satchel, I am accounting for travel time which if you're in the early game, can be a fair bit of the day, you'll get much more dukes per minute if you're doing clear quests rather than fetch if we assume an average distance of 500-700 meters away from the trader. If you're really close to a fetch job then it's fine but if you're just going to do the Loot/Refresh/Loot loop then isn't it objectively more lucrative to do a clear job, especially given that as I said, you need to do a level 4 fetch to get as much money as a tier 1 clear. Seems like you're really getting stiffed by the rewards from fetch quests if they're any further than 400m away and you do anything other than grab the satchel.
@pixxelwizzard3 жыл бұрын
@@IzPrebuilt I think it comes down to playstyles. I get more money from selling the loot than from the jobs themselves. Since that's the case, I'd much rather do a fetch quest, especially late game, when a stage 4 or 5 takes forever to clear. EDIT: Even though I have 2,000+ hours in the game my playstyle has been called unorthodox, so take my words with a grain of salt!
@IzPrebuilt3 жыл бұрын
@@pixxelwizzard Well ofcourse, late game you're doing jobs more for the loot that comes with them rather than the money or the quest reward, in which case yes, a fetch probably can be done considerably faster but then of course you miss out on the higher level loot if you do it that way. The tip was mostly for the people like me who always just end up clearing and looting everything anyway, might as well get paid more if you're going to do all that.

Mistake #11: Brass is easy to find when you salvage. Wrench radiators in houses, and wrench air conditioners. People talk about double-looting (loot, activate quest to reset POI, loot again) but please consider double-salvaging if you're a build that consumes brass. I've never once had to smelt dukes. Never, even with a Fortitude build. Even by game stage 200+. My current Fortitude build is level 100 and I have a stockpile of over 8000 rounds of 7.62mm. I handle 90% of fights using steel knuckles (with the occasional beer). The only time I burn up 7.62 is horde night. I watch people charge into a room, guns blazing against 2 zombies and SMH. That could also be why people struggle with brass - no ammo conservation.
@footthumb2 жыл бұрын
I struggle with brass because I have 2 SMG Turrets for Horde Night. That’s 1800 9mm, so, max 10800 brass every week just to run my turrets during Horde Night. And they don’t even last the whole night, even with me only running them 1 at a time. I buy brass, bullet casings, and 9mm whenever I can but it’s a scramble week to week. My only option at this point is to stop relying on the SMG turrets and start building some sledges, blade traps, and dart traps because the brass grind is consuming too much of my time.
@crazzanthictlabbar10562 жыл бұрын
@@footthumb Your instincts are correct. Relying on 9mm turrets to do any of the heavy lifting is just draining your XP and resources. Even if you're a maxed out intellect build (which it sounds like from your post), you only get 50% XP... that means you're spending resources to throw away half your horde night XP. I insist that you reconsider. I've only done intellect build twice. What I did was I kept a high tier gun for each ammo type at my base, and select the weapon based on ammo abundance at the time. I did as much as I could with sledge and baton and that preserved ammo too. Nerd Tats and the Repulsor mod are amazing for the big battles. One smack and it's a pack of flying ragdolls, so you can fall back to a choke point, slap down the sledgy to share the load, and defend a doorway or similar. On horde night, the Repulsor + Nerd Tats is great for an elevated base where your repulsor launches them back into a base designed to slow them down. This lets you pick them off at your leisure until they group up again, then smack em all flying once again. Having a choke point protected by a (flaming) sledgy is also extremely useful.
@dra6o0n2 жыл бұрын
They should revamp the packmule skills to increase your stack capacity for items instead. Lv1 = +20% Lv5 = +100% Yes with lv5 Packmule you can hoard double the ammo per stack, double the food/drink per stack, etc.
@ryanespinoza72972 жыл бұрын

I haven't tried the mini bike in A20 yet but it in A19 it doesn't go any faster than a bicycle and needs to be fueled. So bicycle works for my play style.

@graywolf72373 жыл бұрын
I actually counter your argument for fetch quests. if you're at a late enough stage in the game clearing the house is already very quick, and if you do the fetch quest not only is clearing the house for the end loot useful but it can be doubled, which is very worthwhile. even if you don't clear out all the individual items, just get the best loot you can and run and you'll get plenty of stuff and more worthwhile loot since you cleared it twice.

"A" point in pack mule isn't bad. 2 somewhat more borderline to justify though. It won't help you in late game, but I've gone past day 50 numerous times and still not fully filled out that bottom row of encumbrance. I think the earliest I've fully filled out encumbrance with mods was around day 30. It depends on some looting & trader stock RNG. A cooling mod (or two) in an armor slot makes the college jacket more viable in hot climates, and that's the only gear or perk in the game which buffs your base movement speed. Late game you're better off with the college jacket, 1 point in Well Insulated, and no points in pack mule. But 1 in pack mule, 1 cooling mod, and college jacket does offer more benefit in early to mid game. And yes, despite what everyone wears, college jacket is waaaaaaay better than the duster. As for the vehicles, why not both? If it's 'either' a bicycle 'or' 1 point in pack mule, sure, get the bike. But both is better (until you're swimming in pocket mods anyway). And the 4x4? Its useful. Not useful enough to perk into it, but once you're getting ahead on your book reading & not buying every book in sight, it's a decent investment for your dukes. Same for the gyro. Good video though :) If I had a nickle for every grenade I've dropped...
@herogibson2 жыл бұрын
one point in pack mule is a wasted point. period.
@kathrynck2 жыл бұрын
@@herogibson Yeah, AS SOON AS you get 18 more inventory weight on your character, it becomes somewhat less valuable. Until then? I've hit full pocket capacity in under 14 days before, and other times it's taken 50 days. Also, I'd rather use the college jacket, for +10% movement (which is of EnOrMoUs benefit), even if it means using a cooling mesh or insulated mod or two. What mods do you want at end game? - 5x +2 armor - 5x advanced fittings - 5x muffled connectors right there, you're at 1 open mod slots in each piece of a level 6 armor set. - 1 headlamp (head armor now has full slots) - 1 bandolier (either chest or legs are now full) - 1 impact bracing (foot armor is now full) This is all desirable whether you're in heavy or light armor. You're going to have an armor mod-space crunch in end-game. You're looking at 2 open slots for tripple pocket mods. And 3 open slots for double pocket mods on clothing. That's 12 pocket slots. If you're really min-maxing. 1 point in pack mule, or 1 point in well insulated (either one), is extremely viable for an end-game "best in slot" character build. And you don't want to wear the leather duster like everyone on youtube, and leave 10% movement speed on the table like a n00b. OR, just freeze & get heat stroke in the snow & desert (more viable than leaving 10% movement on the table at least). So you're going to want to at least consider a hat mod, or cooling/insulated mods. Even if you say you don't want to avoid temperature problems. You'll just tough it out (which can be viable), you're still looking at 2 open armor mod slots, along with 3 clothing slot mods, for 12 inventory wieght. There is a mod space issue which can EASILY justify 1 point in Well Insulated or Pack Mule at end game. Both have some interesting utility in early game, depending on what biome you start out in. And this is assuming forget'n elixir doesn't exist. I'm saying there's a very reasonable argument for 1point in pack mule even with no possibility of re-spec. 2 points in Pack Mule is getting into territory which is harder to justify (same with 2 points in Well Insulated, or 1 in each). That would be plausible, but getting a little sketchy. But you do eventually want a college jacket, and either a hat mod or one insulation mod (hot or cold). And you want minimal noise, and maximum armor movement & stamina penalty reduction, ideally. Pack Mule (or Well Insulated) is extremely helpful in early game, and remains viable in end game at 1 point investment (possibly 2, if you live in snow or desert). You could easily say "screw muffled connectors, I don't need that, I hate stealth". And that's fine. There's more than one way to play. Admittedly, stealth in A20 is not balanced very well, so I can definitely see the appeal of just saying "screw stealth". But there's some value in not being as noisy, even if you never crouch. Just don't say you don't want +2 armor mods or advanced fittings mods, cuz that's just silly. Are there perks you want more badly, and sooner? That's a definite possibility. Pushing for better vehicles earlier makes a lot of sense. But it's not like you end up on day 80 thinking "wow that one point in pack mule (or well insulated), was a total waste, and now I need a forget'n elixir". I can think of quite a few perks I'd be more anxious to respec out of than Pack Mule. Like if I wasted a point in Salvage Operations because RNG was being a b!tch, and I needed a wrench to craft a workbench sooner.
@herogibson2 жыл бұрын
@@kathrynck pack mule so you can put muffled connectors and impact bracing mods in your stuff is not a good use of a skill point. and with all the storage you have now, free bike after 6 trader missions or w/e, a drone that follow you around, you don't need to have full inventory at all times anyway. putting a point into something that an item can do is kind of inefficient. in the case of pack mule, a few items make it totally obsolete. if there is a skill that can be TOTALLY replaced by just a few items.. it's no longer kind of inefficient. it's a complete waste. there are too many other ways to stay unencumbered. the thing is, it is just a game. is wasting points a bad thing? depends who you ask. if you don't care, then its not a bad thing. but, it is absolutely a waste nonetheless.

I have always harped at TFP's that pack mule should in addition to unlocking slot encumbrance also increase stack sizes by 10% each level for 5 levels, which is 50% so every items original stack, say 10 water you can now carry 15, if the stack is 300 bullets then you can carry 450 in a stack, but bonus stacking would only work on your person, and items would simply unstack once placed in boxes, crates, vehicles, storage. I go motorbike as early as possible and the space is good enough for me, wish there was a mod to put another row on the storage but if you add a drone you are probably set.

Hehe.. I always start like this then decide which perk tree im going.

I never really found pack-mule that useful because in early game you almost got used to being over-encumbered and by the time you learned pocket/combat pocket mods you had vehicles... I agree, one of the less useful skills. I heartily disagree with the 4x4... if you have not gotten a gyrocopter yet, you need the 4x4 to make long-distance trips worth it.. Otherwise use the gyro to get to the town and then pop out the motorcycle to travel around looting.. then when you have all the loot the motorcycle can hold, drive back you your gyro and xfer the loot and fly home.

i like the pack mule skills, i make them every run at the begining and i use later on the elixier to relearn and use the armore mods for inventory space
@johnmoss46242 жыл бұрын
The idea of using a 4x4 for a nomad play through never occurred to me, that's a great idea. You drive it to the next town and then run out of gas and then have to fight and loot to get enough gas to keep moving.
@NTJedi2 жыл бұрын
As long as you have a wrench then the gas you can collect from the cars of one town would last at least for reaching the next five towns.

@1:35 - Better to just use 3 triple armour pockets, and have 3 double clothing pockets and get back 2 armor mod slots. Admittedly this still leaves 3 locked slots, but the encumbrance penalty is pretty much negligible at this point. If it's really an issue for you, you could use 4 triple armours and not have to worry at all, but you only get back 1 armor mod slot this way. You even had the double clothing pocket mods in your inventory, so iunno why you never mentioned them :/

There have been so many times when my friend and I used a 4x4 to loot multiple cities in a single road trip, and completely filled both of our inventories + the 4x4's.

I think you lose 25% if you scrap in your inventory which means you don't gain 25% by smelting, you actually get a full third more if you smelt vs scrap in inventory.

Possibly bike is in game because in pvp, other vehicles are SO loud that they attract other players from very far away
@grimsgraveyard35982 жыл бұрын
In fairness it was easy to make two bikes and you get them for free after doing 7 quests. It's definitely made travelling waaaaay easier for me and my wife especially since we are encumbered often looting the nearby town. Granted I want a minibike badly and I'm sure it's ridiculously faster than a pedaled bicycle it seems to have a much larger storage space also.

I would probably add, not keeping your bike parked on the road in graves town. If you keep it parked next to a building without completely clearing the ground of random cinder blocks/metal you will get stuck at the worst possible time(the game also chooses to spawn dogs on you the moment you try to use your vehicle). If you keep it parked on the road you at least have a clearer runway to getaway.
@IzPrebuilt3 жыл бұрын
Try rapidly tapping C next time you're stuck on some cinderblocks or metal, you'll lift the front wheels over it. If you're at speed you'll usually just smash the block, if not then you can keep tapping C to shimmy over it.

I kind of like fetch quests more than clear zombies in higher tier (4 or 5) quests because a lot of the time I am running through a building trying to find that last zombie or two and spending an in fame hour or two trying to find it while I could have just grabbed another quest and started on that one already. With a fetch ypu know where it will be and you aren't running through 6 or 7 floors to find one enemy you can't see unless you are quite close to it and it isn't hiding. It may be a unique problem though cause I utilize the sneak mechanic in games and I don't just like to run and gun especially since I do quests at night quite a bit

"Why does the bicycle exist" So you have a transport method that doesn't use gas, for the early early game. "The 4x4 uses more gas" I have friends to haul around, the 4x4 can seat them, the inventory is amazing, and the gas thing is a non-issue once you start wrenching cars.

Say, my man, would it be possible to sneak in some info regarding headsplosions? As in, does every weapon have the same base dismember base chance, so actually brawling and SMGs would be the best way to fight radiateds, because more attacks per second mean a faster headsplosion?
@IzPrebuilt3 жыл бұрын
The way I think it works is you have a base chance to dismemeber (7% I think) and dismembering the head is the "Headplosion" this can be improved by the level a given attribute is, for example 1 point of perception will increase dismemberment chance with non-automatic rifles by 5% up to a max of 50%. Whether that is a 5% increase flat out, or a 5% increase of the 7% base I don't know. But the basic idea is whichever attribute you have the highest like strength will increase the dismemberment chance with the weapons it governs (in this case shotguns) But ofcourse if all of your attributes are maxed then the quickest dismemberment potential would be the SMG as it has the highest rate of fire, meaning more chances to dismember.
@gako583 жыл бұрын
The base dismemberment chance is 5% (entityclasses.xml, line 79). Every point in an attribute increases it by flat 5% to a maximum of 50% chance, meaning that every other hit should dismember a limb. This would mean that higher fire rate would be better. However, there is a certain item that could be considered even with a slow rate of attack. Sledgehammers, while being slow and clumsy stamina eaters, have an added 10% flat dismember chance on normal attacks and a whopping 30% on power attacks. This means that late game, with 10 strength and a sledgehammer, you would have 80% chance to dismember a limb (if there is no resistance to it). This would be more than the 70% the knuckles have with level 5 Brawler but it's hard to say which weapon is better; their effectivity varies by situation (AoE attacks, chance to knock zombies down, attack rate, stamina usage etc.). Shotguns also get an added dismemberment chance from the Shotgun Messiah vol. 3 when fired at or less than 3 meters from the target. This increase is also a flat 30% making it even with sledgehammers. Based on my and others' observations, I think it is divided between all the pellets shot (10 for shell) so with a duckbill shotguns would provide lower chance of dismemberment to multiple zombies at a time, although having to worry about the range might make it less useful in practice.

Personally my advice if you want higher quality gear day one go to the wastelands city for that biome lootstage bonus paired with lucky looter you can get generally quality 6 primitive tools or iron tools day one as well as low tier guns. Honestly its not worth it in most cases but if you want to min max lootstage the wastelands are the place to go and if your cheeky you can make a screamer farm to farm exp. personally it takes the fun out of the game so i never really bother with it and sense i generally play with 28 days later zombies its like slamming my head against a wall for the chance of early game mid tier gear and even with the highest early game loot stage of like 40 or 50ish your still likely to get primitive crap 95% of the time at the cost of dying way more. My advice rather push for base building related perks like being able to make cement mixers and upgrade blocks for exp or focus quests for exp. Raising your level early game is honestly the best way to get better gear sense it ultimately corilates with your over all gamestage/lootstage plus theres a diffrence between gear progression and actual progression your perks generally are more useful then a level 1 lever action or sniper rifle you will find off a trader or random wasteland safe. Also one of the most underated bonuses you can get is the actual attribute points them selves sense they actually give bonus headshot up to an extra 100% sense early game headshots are key even with melee the actual perk attributes are worth sinking points into vs just purely sexual dino or flurry of blows. The penitrator perk is also pretty good if you want to really get the most out of your ammo and its even better with rifles and .44s plus that ignore armor is actually damn good

I started playing about a month ago and have yet to even try to throw a grenade/pipe bomb/molotov etc.. They are just piling up in my inventory. I do like using explosive arrows/bolts during horde night. Edit: made it farther in the vid and I gotta say, the best thing I made for my girl was the 4x4. She is a pure scavenger. Aside from joining me in the horde base on blood moons scavenging is all she does. She will disappear for hours and come back with a full backpack, truck, and tier 6 drone with 4x cargo mods. As I am the sole base builder and crafter it's like christmas every time I hear her truck roar into base. the only thing we don't like about it is that not only is the front zombie pusher totally useless, it has about 4 inches of ground clearance completely negating the purpose of a 4x4....off roading.

It's all about a statistic called "critical resistance", heavy armor in particular will give you a very good resistance to taking injuries and infection. You can also use a food item called "health bars" to massively increase critical resistance as well.
