Went for the GXL 78 purely for front and rear diff locks, price difference would only get one aftermarket, wasn't fussed on carpet or cloth seats but the electric windows and central locking also not on Workmate are a bonus

The factory snorkel is actually only listed as a raised air intake not actually a snorkel

Hi mate have just come out of the same Ute, and to be honest only purchased due to needing a dual cab and not willing to be without a cruiser and I can honestly say I was shocked after just a fortnight. I love my hzj79 but it is like a different car. Best decision I have made but now I have to sell my hz and it’s killing me 😂

Saw your dad at Cairns Central last week. I asked how the 79 was going and he looked startled🤣

Yes! Dad remembers but he didn’t hear what you said. He apologises 🙏

I love the 'cheese cutters' ,no carpet or fake (plastic) chrome rather than black finish.But I would have loved to get diff locks on it but that wasn't an option on the Workmate.........don't understand why if I was willing to pay the extra.

My thoughts exactly. From what I hear though, it’s not the worse thing. People rate air lockers over E-lockers anyway so I saved $2-4k on lockers that I can spend on a good air locker setup
@jamesm63416 ай бұрын
GXL comes with additional diff lockers right? I would think that would be very valuable?
@NorthOz6 ай бұрын
It’s only 1 locker from factory and some people criticise the factory locker and replace it anyway with a more reliable air locker

Your info is incorrect- relation to tyre size the 70 the landcruiser is listed as just that at main roads for compliance. The 70 gxl and workmate can run the same size tyre.
@NorthOz5 ай бұрын
That’s good to know 👍 GXL boys will find that info handy

Yeh mate that sun visor is funny. I love the wheels too, just wish i could run 255/85/16 on them one day. I found wheels called nomad convoy 501s and they have grey and they look ideal to keep it looking stock but run slightly wider tyres :-)

Also im 2metres tall and actually okay, lose a bit of visibility up top but might get a recaro seat that adjusts lower but honestly im pretty comfy and just happy to be driving a truck 😊
@NorthOz6 ай бұрын
That’s great advice. I’ll look into those wheels for sure. How do you fit at 2m?! The headroom is better than any 4wd though so you must appreciate that 👍
@sttill816 ай бұрын
I have the troopy so maybe there is more room above but if anything its that I’m just sitting a bit high but still no problems. I know the recaro ergomeds can go lower and back further so always that option but so much money. For now I am good :-)
