Fellow plum in cognac addict here :) it reminds me of this German dessert we used to have at Christmas called Rum Pot. It’s stone fruits soaked in rum in a jar for 6 months, drizzled over vanilla ice cream. Truly delicious!

I've been enjoying my sample of Maison Violet "Un Air d'Apogee". On paper, it's somewhat similar to "Dolce and Gabbana Pour Homme Intenso" because both fragrances seem to use the trio of tobacco, hay, and possibly black pepper. However, because of the notes/ingredients which they don't have in common: "D&G Intenso" smells more like a bar of something like "Irish Spring" soap, and "Un Air d'Apogee" smells more like a bar of Honey & Lilac soap. For me, I like both of those fragrances, but "Un Air D'Apogee" is the better fragrance between the two and I hope to get a full bottle of it eventually. "Un Air d' Apogee" is one of my favorite fragrance discoveries this year.

I'm wearing Vanilla today Nuit de Noces from Christian Provenzano's brand. I want Le Lion but I haven't found a good priced bottle, Mousse Illuminne is also on my list, the only one that I know from the video is Iris Malikhan, love it. My most addictive from the last 5 years are: Rosendo Mateu No.5, Ganymede, Mandorle, Cuoium, Kutay, and Mamba (It's from 2017 but I discover it last year, also RM No. 5 is from 2017). Some fragrances which I can think are addictive (for me at least) are: "Elysium" by Roja Parfums, "Mea Culpa" by V Canto, "Une Histoire D"Homme Irresistible" by Mauboussin, "Jubilation XXV Man" by Amouage, "Basilica" by Milano Fragranze, and "Icon" by Dunhill.

I’m addicted to Hibiscus Mahajád right now. Not the top notes, but the lingering vanilla and musk mallow. It’s so so good. I agree about Un Air d’Apogée! I wore it every day on a recent trip to New York, and honestly couldn’t wait to get it on me every morning. I just picked up the Indult sample set and am crazy for Tihota (vanilla heaven). I now want to try Iris Malikhân!

One of the two here that I've sniffed is the Raw Gold! Yes, it's an INCREDIBLE scent. Stunning. Too "not me" for me to wear, but that doesn't mean I was immune to its addictive aroma. The other is Mousse Illumine. You got me to buy it. I'm still...discovering it. Definitely a hypnotizing scent. But somehow I'm still seeking the right day, the right occasion, the right company, in which to wear it. I feel it's still waiting to grow on me the way, perhaps, it's fated to, because, yes, I catch the "thing" in it that's addictive. One you turned me on to (not in this video) that is totally addictive--and, yes, it's also "me" so I CAN wear it--is Chypre Mousse. SO different, even daring (for cautious me), yet so amazing that, yes, I DO dare.... 🙂

Mousse Illuminee 💚 I also find myself going back to Amouage this time of year. The resins and spices are just so addictive this time of year. It's THE time to bust out those heavy floral ambers, middle eastern spicy woods and gourmands. Something about getting a waft of warm sweetness in the cold that just brings a smile to my nose. 🇨🇦 Can noses smile? They can now. 😄

I think it's funny that Sebastian included "Un Air D'Apogee' on this list because I remember when Anthony, from Maison Violet, said that "Un Air D'Apogee" is supposed to be addictive. I like it, and I can see why someone would want to wear it often.

You know I just bought 2 fragrances didn’t realize how close they resemble eachother. Plum in Cognac and Palo Santo by Carner Barcelona. Now plum in Cognac is slightly sweeter and better blended.

Awwww yeah! Great list...I would say Gourmands are the MOST addictive fragrances to ME, for obvious reasons - Fragrances like: Xerjoff's Lira and Italica, PDM Oajan, Pearlescent Midnight Jasmine/Gallagher Rose All Day, Montale's Intense Cafe, Guerlain Feve Delicious & Spiriteuse Double Vanille...BUT, Sometimes a fragrance is addictive for another reason - if you've never smelled anything quite like it and it smells good but in an intriguing kind of way! For me - so many fragrances from houses like: Zoologist, Imaginary Authors, January Scent Project and Darren Alan have that je ne sais quoi...I mean - Bee, Squid, O' Unknown, The Soft Lawn, Selperniku, Horla, Chypre No.1 and Hekate are some offerings from these houses that blew my socks clean off...I have all of them in my collection and I adore smelling and wearing them! I picked up a sample of Choeur des Anges from Atelier des Ors and I absolutely love it. Smells like a creamy orange on me. I normally can't wear citrus fragrances because they go sour on me, but this one sits so nicely and I love smelling it all day.

Yesss thank you for putting Le Lion in this list!! I have used a ton of my first bottle (nearly done) and have another large bottle ready to replace it and I have found it very addictive for the Fall/Winter/Spring.. I agree it IS addictive and it departs from Shalimar by remaining true to its lemon/laudanum heart throughout and not becoming vanilla/powder..- hard to explain.. Curious why you don't mention that strange freshness about Les Jardins de Misfah- that strangeness turned me off actually😢. I feel bad..

I got a decant of Rouge Saray a few weeks ago because I really like date/plum/fig fruit/dried fruit scents and I thought it was good, but it didn't blow my mind. The Rogue Perfumery frags I find addicting are the fougeres: Bon Monsieur and Fougere L'Aube. But I'm a Fougere kind of guy. I need to revisit Mousse Illuminee. I tried it off roller ball sample and there was something that didn't sit well with me. I looked up the Xerjoff 400 and the Jardins de Misfah on Fragrantica and they were voted quite feminine so I'll probably skip. The Un Air d’Apogée by Maison Violet sounds pretty good so maybe I'll look to try that one.
